This is a great place... the bartender is always kind and personable. He stayed late one date night we came in right before closing. They always have good beer and drink choices. The food is delicious we went here today for lunch with two of our kids. I had the mac n cheese it was creamy and cheesy had more than enough left over. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich he ate all of it said it was different and tasty. The kids split chicken nuggets and fries... they were very happy... and that's not always the case when we go out to eat. This is one of my favorite places. read more

If I can give negative stars I would. Yes the atmosphere and service is good. BUT, tonight will be our last time there. I ordered the Buffalo wings. I was craving them all day. We went to County Fare just for that purpose....wings. They were horrible. I couldn't get past 2 of them. They were horrible. No taste. Like I was drinking dirty dish water. I ordered something else. The bill comes and we were charged for the wings. How in good conscience, do you charge for food that was returned?. I feel a good waitstaff and/or place, would offer some kind of compensation. Nope. The guy who said "Typical hipster comfort food" nailed it! That being said, I don't think that's necessarily derogatory...Millennials have a bead on high calorie good eats. The room can get cacophonous, but the food is on point. Our treats from our last visit: golden, delicious deep fried pierogie; a monstrous, tasty reuben, and a solid plate of fish and chips (not in traditional super crispy batter, but still quite good - plus, they brought the malt vinegar out to the table without me having to ask for it, so extra marks! Seems like a popular locals hangout- the barstools were full early on a Saturday night and the bartenders were really chatty with the customers. Food was good and service was friendly. Stopped in for lunch with my wife. We were greeted and seated promptly Our server was very polite and friendly. We ordered a couple of their signature drinks. They were great. Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I stumbled upon this place as I was looking for a place that had vegetarian options that had more than just a salad, country fare exceeded that expectation. I would recommend coming here as the service is quick, the staff is friendly, and the portions are LARGE! I got the Sweet Orr burger which comes with goat cheese, spicy pickles, fried green tomato, and bacon jam. Initially I thought it was going to be spicy but it wasn't at all. All of the flavors blended nicely together and the burger was huge. I couldn't finish the whole thing but the serving size was affordable and I would love to have it again. My friend got the Fakin BLT wrap and she loved it. It came with tempeh, soybean mix, lettuce, tomato, veganaise. I have never seen such a large wrap before. She said she enjoyed the wrap and was really satisfied with all of the vegetarian options they possessed. read more

Where to start. So, my wife and i walked in last night on a recommendation from a family member. Started the night with a iced tea mixed with lemonade, what came out was *definitely* iced coffee mixed with lemonade. We told our waitress that there might have been an accidental mix up and requested a new drink, and we were told there's no way that could have happened. I promise my wife and I are not crazy or stupid. But the problem was resolved so thats a non-issue. For starters we got the roasted buffalo cauliflower. It may as well have been steamed or microwaved because it was soggy, no char and covered in enough franks hot sauce to be half considered a soup. Not very appetizing. My wife got the Mac and cheese with pulled pork. The Mac and cheese was bland and didnt taste like cheese at all. If this was made bechamel style then they need more salt or more cheese. The pulled pork was so insanely candy sweet it was almost nauseating. I got the Oor burger and it tasted alright, but very messy, impossible to eat unless open faced and had enough goat cheese on it to drown out the rest of the flavor. They should add less of that considering its a powerful flavor in small amounts. As my side I got the "homemade" chili. Tasted like it was straight out of a can and into the nuker. predominantly crushed tomato flavored. All in all we were just very disappointed by this place and would expect more from an iconic location like the middle of the village on main. TLDR; if you like beer, come here. If you don't like good food, come here. read more

As a 9yr vegetarian and recently converted vegan, I love finding places with actual variety for veg heads AND omnivores. Often when I got out with my friends, someone ends up compromising for "I guess I can just get the _____ again." NOT HERE! I got the tempeh Reuben and fries. So freaking good. Really REALLY happy to have a nice place that caters a bit to the vegetarian customer!! I commend this place for being one of the very few in this area. I would highly recommend coming here. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is good! I ordered the Fakin' BLT Wrap, and it was very good, but I do have one, small recommendation: please don't overcook the tempeh. The tempeh was a bit burned on the edges, and I think I know what happened. Sometimes cooks think tempeh takes longer to cook than it usually takes because they're so used to cooking meat. Tempeh, and other soy proteins, require very little cooking. It's basically just needing to be heated up and served. Once I cut off the burned edges, it was perfect! I've been wanting to come here for a while! I finally got the chance to stop in for happy hour yesterday. Me and my fiancé got the rosè with the fried calamari and pierogies. They were pretty good and the prices were pretty average. We also got the limoncello cake for dessert and we really liked that. Idk if I put too much milk in my coffee or if it was just cold but that was the only downside... we enjoyed our time here and want to come back to try lunch or brunch when we get a chance. read more

At $80 for a meal for two, it fell flat. The cauliflower "wings" were just steamed cauliflower smothered in sauce. The vegan Reuben was tasteless and had no flavor to speak of. They put plain, unseasoned tempeh strips (and lots of them!) on the sandwich with very little dressing. The best part of the entire meal was the pickle on the side. That sandwich is an embarrassment, and I had to eat when I got home. I'm not a fan of paying high prices for food I can make better myself. If you're looking for a friendly bar with good food and a great tap list this is it. Very friendly bartenders, (I think their names were Gabby and Emily) a fun place to spend the afternoon. This place has an amazing selection of craft beer right in the heart of the village of Wappingers! I always enjoy my meals here as well, with lots of delicious pub-type options to choose from. The thing that keeps drawing me back here though is the beer! There's a nice deck out back where you can eat or drink when the weather is nice. I sit out there whenever possible. Portions are large but everything lacked flavor. Needed better seasoning. Good beer menu. Had a cocktail too. Way too sweet and expensive. I've been here a few times for snacks and drinks. The buffalo cauliflower and fare tots are a great snack with a beer or two. I was craving a burger and had read their burgers are the best in the area. I had the mushroom, onion Swiss burger; my boyfriend got the County Fare burger. It was the best burger we've had. Our server Kelly (I think) was very friendly and helpful with the drink and food menu. She had great suggestions. The owner Dana (sorry if that's not his name) was attentive and informative about the kind of meat used for burgers. Using good quality beef makes a difference! Definitely worth a stop in. Like others said, Sarah is a doll. First time I've had the offer to adjust the bill after asking her to hold the fries and bun (I try to limit my carbs). Kiddos declared their fries the best they ever had. Food came out so quick that they barely had time to play with the Wikki Stix that Sarah gave them.
