Terrible service. We were seated promptly but after 10 minutes of waiting to be greeted, we left. It was 7pm on a weeknight and the restaurant was more than half empty. There were more servers than tables, and every server walked by us during our wait time with no interaction from any. The manager told us to have a good night on our way out. I told him we were never served and with a virtually empty restaurant and full staff, that is unacceptable. He agreed and offered a free meal. I'm not interested in free food, just decent service. Food was good, not great, yet service was exceptional!!! The only reason giving 4 stars versus 5 is due to their standards of cleanliness is not to par. Floor was sticky, ceiling tiles missing from what looks like previous roof leak and women's restroom was needing attention that would require a bit more than a normal cleaning. read more

Mannnnnnn I went there and they took forever to seat me. When they did no one came to bring water. They didn't really care. And I was with someone on crutches. Like no one cared to offer a seat or even speak but everyone can look at us stand there waiting to be seated. Definitely walked out of there. I'm not giving my money to this wack ass restaurant. Called in my order. Was on hold for ten minutes then disconnected. Called back and placed my small order. One steak finger basket. This is Saturday night at 7:20. 4 people in the restaurant. They didn't have my order anywhere. Whoever took it failed to turn it in. I used to love this restaurant. The last several times I've ordered take out it's been wrUnfortunately it has become a complete failure. I expect it to be closed very soon. What a shame. I went back for the first time last night for a to go Cobb salad. It was just like it used to be. I've always claimed they had the best salad in Waco. Used to have the best food. Ordered 6 entrees via phone for pick up, 3 of the exact same thing. Took over 1 hour to get (20 minutes waiting in restaurant.) order was incorrect, missing one meal and appetizer. Manager excuse was they were busy. Of the other 3 customers there waiting- none of their orders were correct. Monday at 7:30pm in Waco busy... I think not. On top of this the fried shrimp was over cooked and tough, meatloaf was hard and dry, mashed potatoes were tasteless. Not a great way to have a family dinner with our 90 yr old mom. Don't let the decor fool ya! This place was amazing and the epitome of not judging a book by its cover. I ordered the lunch special of beef tips with rice and then was pleasantly surprised when our server Anthony asked what sides I would like with it. My husband ordered burger and onion rings. The patty was very thick and juicy. The onion rings appeared to be hand breaded and looked amazing. Anthony never let our drinks get low in spite of his section full and is seated outside his section. Having had him wait on us at a different restaurant we knew we were in for great service. Very, very disappointed in today's visit! We used to frequent when prior long-term manager was there, but no more!!! We had the surf and turf and the steak was horrible - overcooked and no flavor. The mashed potatoes WERE NOT MASHED and they tasted old. The breading did not stay on the shrimp and the tea did not taste fresh and we went there when they opened for the day. We ordered food to be delivered on Thursday night. It was so delicious we ordered it again the next night. However, on that 2nd order the food was not good. We ordered the chips w/ queso, guacamole, & pico. The chips were tough not crispy. They did not give us any pico de gallo. The guacamole was delicious but already turning dark. We also ordered brisket queso & brisket quesadillas, but the brisket was tough & stringy w/ lots of fat and gristle. We order from them often, but this time we were extremely disappointed. read more

My family and I have eaten at this location several times over the last many years, typically with OK service and above average food quality. However, in the last year or so this has dramatically changed, especially with their To-Go service. The last three orders we have placed with this location have been wrong, (to the point of being inedible) or were never completed. A few weeks ago I placed a to go order in store. The ticket receipt said that the order was placed at 12:01pm. I ordered one order of Fried Green tomatoes and two bowls of baked potato soup with cornbread. I asked about the order at 12:30, the woman said she'd check on it and let me know. At 12:45 I asked for a manager and told him that I would like the ordered canceled and my credit card to be refunded. The woman that was checking on my order still had not returned. It took him over ten minutes to refund the money, (He was having trouble with the register) and finally he just gave me cash back. There was no effort on his part to apologize, and I was told that I should have contacted him earlier if there was a problem. read more

We have been here twice now, once for dinner and once for lunch. Great food both times we have now tried everything we have a big family. The salads are great the sandwiches too. Seriously so disappointed in this place. I have given it more than enough chances because it used to be one of my favorite chains but honestly tonight was my last straw. Our food clearly sat in the window for a ridiculously long time because my soup, which was all I ordered, had the thick layer of film and my girls Mac n cheese was almost hard and it had changed color. I would have said something to our server but I couldn't even find her to fill my drink. The final straw was when a server came by and laughed AT my 7 year old for wearing her birthday headband. Also, not one server thought it'd be nice to celebrate my daughter. She went in excited because she thought they'd sing happy birthday to her but nope, in the empty restaurant with a dozen servers not one of them even offered.
