I ordered online & had it delivered by DOOR DASH. I got a chicken fried steak (HUGE) and it was cooked just right & tasted GREAT!!! One of the best I've had in a while. Cream gravy & it was good. I ordered mashed potatoes but they were more chunky style. Not what I prefer but they were ok. I also got macaroni & cheese. It was bland tasting to me. Even though it was delivered it still got to me nice and warm. It also came with two large rolls & butter and they were very good. For dessert I got a piece of butter cake. It was very rich and tasty. I would definitely order from them again. read more

My husband and I walked in to Cotton Patch in Palestine at 8:30 and we were escorted to a table and given menus and nothing more, not even a water order. My husband quickly went to the wash his hands before being seated. He came right back to comment that bathroom was dirty and no paper towels were available to dry his hands. Unfortunately, I was still standing because the seat had food on it and the waiter never came back. Only around four people were eating in the restaurant and based on the look and smell of the place we knew why. We promptly left unnoticed at 8:31 after noticing how dirty the tables were with stains and how dirty the floors were. It even just smelled dirty. Sadly, I could only imagine how dirty the kitchen could be. We love Cotton Patches, but this was really disappointing! Thankfully there was a very clean and tasty Whataburger right next door. read more

My chicken fried steak wasn't bad. It wasn't anything to call mom about either. The fried okra was flavorless and stale. It tasted like it was prepared hours if not a day ago. The floors throughout the entire dining area and restrooms were really sticky. I just love leaving a place with a souvenir that I didn't ask for attached to the bottom of my shoes. Disgusting! read more

Small portions. $12 for brisket tacos and barely any meat and just thrown in the to go thing. Chicken fried chicken was very small. Maybe 3" wide. Cold food read more

I always enjoy eating here. The personnel here, to include the managers, are always nice. My steak today was cooked to perfection so I asked a manager to commend the grill cook. My server Tatum was excellent. She got everything right even with the restaurant being busy. I love this new restaurant except for 1 thing, the noise level. Baffles would help. read more

There are so many new wait staff. The kitchen is so slow!! They are out of several items. The manager needs to get control of this business.

Avoid this place if you want timely service. Went in, was seated, sat for 15 mins without waters, and left.

Four of us just enjoyed a late lunch here. We ate every morsel- from salad to burgers to chicken fried steak. It was homemade and really delicious. For dessert we shared a piece of carrot cake. Our waiter was friendly and had a great personality. We will go back for sure. read more

I met my folks in Palestine for the Dogwood Festival since I'd been in Dallas on business. This establishment had been recommend to my mom by a friend and after checking the other reviews we gave it a try. We didn't have any service issues except for one delivery of cornbread which required just a reminder to resolve. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and my father loved the all-you-can-eat catfish which is his favorite meal. Quite decent as far as a chain restaurant. read more

The food was pretty good, I was expecting a cozy cafe but was surprised it was a modern restaurant. It was clean and nice, just not what I was expecting. read more

Service was really poor. Had to fetch my own drink refill. Waitress took our order and I had to wave her down to get the bill. Salads were too hot flavored to eat. read more

This place could be similar to Cracker Barrel style food selection, and once had a pretty tasty menu...BUT we can't get past "the nasty" of the establishment itself. It smells like "old nursing home cafeteria" upon walking in. Food on floors, dirty tile, needs a remodel for sure. The menu items are the same, but food prep isn't. There has been a noticeable decline in quality. The water isn't filtered--big no-no, so all water, sodas, tea all taste of muddy muck dirt taste. Yuck. Restaurants need to filter here until water conditions improve. Not all Cotten Patch restaurants are like this. Probably just the owner and/or staff. read more

Waiter was courteous however it took almost 40 minutes to get food. When it came out it was cold, not even room temperature. My side was delayed as they were making it fresh. After we sent the food back, it was another 20 minutes. They put my side on the plate and again it was cold, refrigerator cold. It tasted like they had scooped out of the fridge. Was one of the worst meals in a while. This is my last try with this Cotten Patch. They really need to improve their cook staff. read more

Visiting from Houston, first time dining here. Everything was superb! The food was so comforting and the staff was welcoming and hospitable.

Wait staff were great. Food was better the average. Tried chicken fried bacon. It was good but is something something we probably would not order again. Fried Mac and cheese were good, Fried green tomatoes were average. Chicken fried steak was above average. All in all we would eat there again. read more

We came in with a large group for dinner and there was no wait! The service was amazing and we got free appetizers because it was our first time. The food was great! read more

This is a fairly new location but the booth we sat in was wobbly and sunken in. My husband was too uncomfortable so we moved to a table. I guess we confused them as it took a while for service. Waitress was pleasant and brought drinks quickly. Food was cold and and no real flavor. We will try it again as we heard good things read more

our server was great but the food was not. countless times our bacon had been burnt to the point we sent back the fries and didn't eat much of the bacon on the burger we ordered. my salad had brown on the lettuce and I did have to send it back. flies would not leave and kept landing on the food. i've ordered the alfredo many times but this time it was not the same and didn't taste right. it was more dry than usual as if it was sitting there too long. read more

We stopped there for lunch today, thought we would check their new location. First, the floor was sticky dirty, you couldn't walk on it without listening to your shoes stick. When we were seated we noticed the entire place needed a good cleaning. The guy came to take our drink orders which we gave him. He left, came back a few minutes later to get a food order and forgot about the drinks. After that was straight, we ordered. Husband had chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans & a salad. I ordered meat loaf, mashed potatoes & gravy & corn. When the food finally came, there were 2 small pieces of meatloaf, so burnt & dried out you couldn't cut it with a fork, no gravy for the cold potatoes and the corn was cold as well. The chicken fried chicken my husband ordered was over cooked and dried out, but he got gravy. When I called the meatloaf to the servers attention he grabbed it out of my hand and just kept walking. Between this and the overall filth of the restaurant we just left and will not go back. read more

Don't try curbside pickup.....they WILL not bring it out. Waited for 20 minutes after calling to let them know I arrived....nothing. Won't make that mistake again......the food was cold by the time I could get it home. Thanks read more

Wish we could give this place a better rating, as we came here because we had a good experience at the Athens location. So many things went wrong though...I just wonder if the owners are aware of this place at all. read more

I ordered to go from here on a drive through town. The staff was incredibly kind and food dependably good. They're worth a stop!

Just ate here with some buddies great service and great food.Queso tasted great! Happy Valentine's day!

We went to new Cotton Patch building and as soon as we walked in the hostess left and did not come back. We waited 10 minutes and decided to go elsewhere. It is a shame because the old building had excellent greetings when you walked in. Looks like new generation have no customer skills. read more

This is strictly for the food. The customer service was great but the food tricked me. I saw it on Yelp and thought it would have flavor and soul. Nope I was tricked. I seriously was sad because I was looking forward to the pecan pie and my dinner read more

I absolutely live the Fried Green Tomatoes. The service is so wonderful and the food is fresh. Definitely one of our go to places.

Ordered meatloaf dinner to go. When i got home 10 miles away saw that my cornbread was was missing and the dinner roll was stale. It was 2 in the afternoon when i ordered so i guess i got lunch leftovers . For 12 dollars they should do better it wasn't like they were super busy. Manager only said she was sorry and i could come back and get my cornbread. No thanks read more

Lacey our server was excellent! It's a great pace to dine. Food was good, service was good I highly recommend

This place is amazing! A true east Texas gem! Big smiles and hot food cooked to order. I can't say enough about how much I love cotton patch! Yummy jalapeño gravy could make a shoe taste good!! And the lemonade is a tangy hit!! 10stars! read more

My family came in the first time ever to eat at a cotton patch cafe wanting to try it . We were seated pretty quick & our server got our drinks & bread & asked if we were ready to order told him just 1 more minute to decide . 15 minutes later I had to get up from our table & walk over to our server who was not paying us any attention and I told him we're ready for you to take our order whenever you are. Another 10 minutes pass and he finally comes to the table to tell us he passed us over to another sever and didn't realize they didn't get over to us . You would expect our order to just be taken then but he just walks away again. Then we expect him to get the other server but no one came over not even him to see if we were taken care of so after sitting for another 10 minutes completely ignored we just got up & walked out . So disappointed! Was really looking forward to trying their food but I don't think we will ever stop into another one to try it again after this place read more

Passing through Palestine and had the best meal I have had ina long time. Meat loaf was the best I have ever eaten. Green beans and baked squash were yummy. Jose provided fast and efficient service read more

Was a little disappointed with this place. While it was moderately busy wait staff weren't over worked yet the service wasn't all that great. The lobby was filthy with trash in the floor. No one bothered to sweep up the mess. Has the strawberry chicken salad. I made my choice solely on the menu photo. Woah! What a let down. The actual entree was less than 1/2 the size of the portion pictured. It was enough food but given the price there should have been more. On a plus note the brownie ala mode dessert was good. read more

Went in and got seated and waited while two groups after us came in and were seated and waited on while we were sitting right next to them. Never even acknowledged we were there. UPDATE. Based on my last two trips here, I have to take away a star. I recently had fish and chips made with tilapia for gosh sakes. Greasy and bad! On the other hand, the shrimp are still pretty good. There's a wide range of food choices, and some of them, particularly the salads are excellent. The others, such as burgers, steak, or fried shrimp, are also good. If I just had to rate it on the food, I'd give it four stars, but the real problem is the service is very "spotty". The waitstaff all appear to be high school students, and they just don't seem able to get you in and out quickly for lunch, and they are easily distracted. Management doesn't much seem to care when your lunch takes over 45 minutes to be served. If you have a group for dinner who want a wide variety of choices, and are in no hurry to get seated or get their orders, this is probably one of the best choices for Palestine. The desserts like cobbler are pretty good. Portions are large, and their mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak are really good. It's just that service is a real risk if you're in a hurry. read more

From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with big smiles and happy faces. My tea was sweet and my waitress Paty was amazing. I ate the turkey Sunday special and it was juicy and delicious.
