I am a disabled grandmother and had neighbors pick up some food for me. I ordered Parmesan garlic wings, and they were disgusting. Dried out n no sauce. I also ordered honey barbecue wings, while not totally dried out like the garlic wings. They were still not great. The dessert was so tiny. Well that's all I can say about it. Worst service and food ever. We have not been to the Palestine Applebee's in a little over 3 years. Today's meal reminded us why. The interior seemed dank and dirty. The service was slow ( even though there were only 6 tables of customers). Our waitress showed up about 10 minutes after we were seated. After brining our drinks she disappeared for about 15 minutes more. When we asked another waiter if he could find her and let her know we were ready to order, he said that she was "somewhere in the back" and said " she will be out as soon as she is finished back there". Needless to say, we were overwhelmed by his desire to be of "NO HELP". Then our food came out, not stone cold, but barely luke-warm. We have been to other Apple Bees in Dallas, and near Houston and they were pretty good. Came in today (Sunday afternoon) and they were moderately busy, but seemed either a bit unorganized or just understaffed and overwhelmed. We stood at the host station looking awkwardly at seated customers for 5 or 10 minutes until any staff was to be seen. When a waitress finally came up she was super nice and seated us. Didn't see that waitress again, and we cycled through two or 3 other waitresses/waiters after that (the best of which was Nikki). Across the board our food was average to good. I got wings and pretzel sticks. The pretzel sticks and beer cheese were tasty, the boneless wings were pretty much standard frozen wing "nuggets." If I am at an Applebee's, then you know there is a prison nearby. I know that sentence probably will not make sense to most people, but if you know me, it does. So, this Applebee's is 15 miles away from five prisons, but it is also right across the street from the newer Palestine Hampton Suites and Inn, which is where I stay when I go to said prisons, so it is a natural choice. The food is always decent, and they used to have a kickass bartender there by the name of Sarah, but I think she may have moved on because I haven't seen her on my last two jaunts to East Texas. I learned some football knowledge from this Applebee's - Adrian Peterson is from Palestine (the one that plays for the Vikings) - and his signed jersey is proudly on display there. I have also learned quite a bit about East Texas culture at this Applebee's. It's parking lot is popular to "drag" through, that is, if you own an otherwise sweet ride, such as a 1964 Impala convertible, but which you have painted an atrocious color and into which you have squeezed 9 of your best friends. Hunting camo is for all occasions, both genders, and every creed and race, and it is okay to wear a hunting camo jacket over your springy babydoll dress, though it is November. It all works out. I went to Applebee's today and arrived at 5:30 and left at 7:15. We got seated really promptly but we waited about 10 minutes just for our drinks. When we placed our order, we waited around 40 minutes to get our side salads. Not only did we wait a long time for our salads, but we also got small portions. Some time after, we finally got our food. One of our party members had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get her food. The lady was generous to take her meal off of the check. One of my party members and I got steak. Never have I ever thought that steak could be gum, but today that changed. Our steaks were very chewy. Wife picked up some chicken quesadillas the other day, big mistake. Worse meal had in a log time. They were dry, no taste and very little substance. Tortilla was dried out with no moisture was more like a taco shell. Very little meat more like a bite like snack not $7 worth. I was going to write a review about how we went in there for an early lunch . The lunch menu says get your food in 12 minutes or it is free. Since we were the only ones in there I did not think much about it. Timed it anyway 14 minutes. Waitress said she didn't put it on a timer . They did honor it but they made it feel we wanted something for nothing. We left 7 dollars anyway on 20 dollar ticket. Now the reason I am posting if they can't get the food to the only people in the place in 12 minutes or less well it sounds like a good place for lunch . My husband and I went for Dinner a couple of evening ago. It was around 8:30 pm not very busy. The waiter greeted us and got us seated quickly. We ordered drinks then we ordered an appetizer. That took longer than it should have. Part of our order was wrong. We were discounted but I really don't think it was our waiter's fault. Food quality and service has been very average, and there are better options in town, so we stopped going here except for occasional curbside service. In summer 2014 this restaurant actually served my kid a BLT without the tomato and didn't say anything about it. A good restaurant would told us early on that the kitchen was out, or would have comped part of the bill after serving it. They refused to do anything about it. On the positive side the curbside service is always attentive and I've never had to go inside to ask where a curbside hostess is. Unfortunately curbside shuts down after 9 pm and customers are expected to go to the bar to pick up the food. read more

She was very quite and didn't really seem to be paying attention to us. Our meals came out on Hot plates but barely warm, wouldn't be surprised if it sat for a good 10 minutes before it was delivered to the table. Food here has always been good, but the wait and service lately has always been subpar unless you sit at the bar. This last time in we were seated and it took 10 min before someone took our drink order then another 10 before we had drinks, at this time it is not that busy. Once we ordered our food and got it we never saw the waiter again, never got refills on drinks either. When it was time to pay still no waiter, so all in all we probably spent 30 to 40 minutes longer than we had to. Overall not happy with experience here. read more

We were leary of coming because of the other low reviews but they definitely won us over! We had the bourbon chicken, Chile lime chicken, kids steak, kids corn dog, crispy chicken brew house and wrapped it up with the cookie sundae. All of the chicken was deliciously tender and seasoned wonderfully to create 3 very unique dishes. Roberto is a magnificent server! His creative suggestions helped us save money in the Pick 2 promo. He also went above and beyond when the steak was a bit overcooked and had the manager remove it from our bill. We are leaving full and happy! Oh my goodness! I just embarrassed myself in a restaurant! It was very busy so I tried hard to overlook the deficiencies but eventually, I lost my shit! To start with our waitress came and tried to get our food order with out order about 1 minute after we sat down. We eventually decided on pretzels with beer cheese dip. So cold that it didn't even melt the grated cheese garnish. The wonton tacos tasted very strange. The quesadilla burgers didn't even look toasted and the fries must've come from the bottom of the bag because it was mostly fried potato peels. I picked them out. Because I hate potato peel. In a few minutes the waitress brought an order of fries, she said because she saw me picking those little things out.
