You walk in, and the air grabs your lungs like a jealous ex. Whiskey, cold beer, and regulars who've been sitting on the same barstool since Bush was president--the first one. The floor's sticky, the music's loud, and the stories get better with each round. It's the kinda place where the walls have seen more sin than Sunday morning, and the barstools are worn smoother than your meemaw's church shoes.

It's sooo cute on the outside and they definitely have stuff to do as far as a bar goes on the inside. However, you can't breath in there!! It seemed like every single person in there smoked. I feel like they would get so much more business if they did not allow smoking in their establishment. Surely there are more people that don't smoke vs do. They are only catering to one crowd. I can tell you, I will never be back. My health is way more important than a night out there. It's a shame though! This place really could have a lot of potential. The other thing, when my sister asked them, "what kind of craft beers do y'all have?" The bartender replied, "I've never in my 3 years here been asked that, I don't know" then she passed us off to another bartender who started naming off beers like corona, michelob ulta and bud. Clearly she had no clue. I tried to tell her what that was and she seemed very puzzled. Clearly these are not trained bartenders, I should know, I've bartender for many years in well known establishments when I was younger. I guess the only people they really attract are domestic beer drinkers and smokers. Like I said, a shame.

This place would be so perfect for a family reunion or a high school reunion or a wedding really fancy pants event. The sound is great if you're a musician looking for a great stage to play on, you've found it.

But I was thrilled to know that they reopened it for multi-purpose events. I first came during the soft opening during the Fiddlers' Reunion weekend & saw a live concert happening. I also came for the "Art On The Bricks" event. It's neat that they can move the stage, since for the soft opening the stage was on the right brick wall (with the audience portable fold-out chairs situated so that the left & right were further apart than the front & back), & for "Art On The Bricks" the stage was on the back wall (with the windows & view of the town square parking lot behind it). For the art show, there was more space to look at tables of displayed artwork, munch on finger foods (catered by Railway Cafe, next door), sip on drinks (wine, water, or tea), & you could mingle around or sit down (upstairs in the balcony or at some standing-friendly downstairs tables). The restrooms are also nice, & very well-maintained, with plenty of multiple stalls. The upstairs balcony is really neat. It's a great place to sit & eat at small tables (or move them together for bigger groups), or you can sit at a bar-like table overlooking the balcony if you have a smaller group. Overlooking the balcony was an incredible view! I'm staying posted on future events held here, because I definitely want to keep coming back!
