Friendly service. Can dress-up your own burger. Several cheese options. Sweet tea is tasty. No alcohol. Warm decor. Good burger- got the 1/2 lb legend with bacon, cheddar and Swiss.

Just okay. Burger places are one of those things where I am a really harsh judge. If I don't crave your burger after I leave, then that tells me something. It's not that the burgers here were bad, but they weren't great either. The bacon was outstanding, I have to say. But the burgers themselves, while having decent grill flavor, were still somehow meh and unmemorable. Plus, the patties were cooked to beyond well done, which meant terrible texture. I understand you are serving a mixed crowd, but even medium well would probably work across the board and not be so dry and underwhelming. I also doubt this is a half pound burger. Even if it was, it was pounded too thin. So between the over-doneness and the thinness, I felt like I was eating nothing more than a decent fast food burger. The sides were the even lower point. Regular fries were cold and floppy - unacceptable anytime, but especially for a Friday night when you should have everything ready and on point. Sweet potato fries were crispy and hot... but cinnamon on top? Possibly cinnamon sugar? Sweet potatoes don't need cinnamon. I love sweet potato fries but for maybe the first time ever I didn't finish a portion served to me. Ick. The young woman at the counter accidentally charged for an extra fries, which I can and did totally forgive, but then she didn't tell me that choosing a cheese other than cheddar on my bacon cheeseburger would constitute an upcharge. I don't mind paying a tiny bit extra, but you need to inform me first. It must be said: we looooved the fried catfish (only served on weekends). And the free beans while you wait (with hot sauce, SO good). I would almost give this place 3 stars on these two items alone. But if I am judging this place on burgers and fries, which is what they specialize in, I can only give a mediocre review. Not making the effort to go back when I am town.

This is a very cool spot. The inside is a bit dated but the food was awesome. Friendly staff. The woman in the kitchen came out and helped take orders to move the line along. For 2 people (big guys ) and 2 drinks was under $20.00. The only reason I did not choose to give 5 stars was strictly because of the dated cafe feel. It has tons of locals enjoying it with lots of other options nearby. Cheeseburgers were good. French fries were hot hand crispy.

Huge chicken tenders, 3 of them.

Really good burgers & hand cut fries. The chicken tenders seem hand battered, not frozen. Only complaint is the cream gravy wasn't the best. But everything else was really good. Nice veggie bar to top off your burger, and free pinto beans while you wait for your cooked-to-order food. They have chicken fried steak and catfish too. I'll try that next time.

Highly recommend for a great burger! I stopped in here because there used to be a Legends in Bullard and it was excellent, so I was hoping this place was of the same ownership I believe it may be, now For starters, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the speed of service was on par for this type of restaurant, but the main reason for this review is the burger I ordered the pepper jack burger, and it did not disappoint. The burger was fresh and juicy, not dry or greasy. It was cooked to perfect doneness for my taste, about medium well, and served on a sour dough bun It had just enough of a kick to tantalize the taste buds, but not over power the burger or burn the tongue The fries, on the other hand, were just pedestrian, nothing to write home about I'd like to give it a 4.5, due to the fries being just average, but that's not an option, and I don't think it would be fair to bring it all the way down to a 4.0 for decent fries and a top notch burger. Therefore, I made my grade based on the greatness of the burger. That's why I went there and that's why I'll be back! Next time I'll try the sweet potato fries and give an update

We had a 1/2 lb burger, a 1/3 lb cheeseburger, a chicken fried steak sandwich, fried pickles, onion rings, and crispy fries. Everything was amazing and homemade.

Pepper jack burger stuffed with jalapeños, bacon, and onions. On a sourdough bun. DELICIOUS

Takes 30 minutes to get your burger, but it's much better than all the usual fast food chains. 3 Stars just because it's ridiculously slow.

The food, however, was hit-or-miss. The Brisket Nachos looked nothing like the promo photos--plainer with less brisket, though still tasty. Entrées like the Country Fried Chicken Strips, Brisket Quesadilla, Grilled Salmon, and the Wagyu Flat Iron Steak special were good, not great. Sides were average (the wedge salad stood out, but the green beans were forgettable), and they were out of the fried Brussels sprouts I wanted to try. Dessert--the chocolate cream pie--was fine but unremarkable. For what we got, the $140 bill with tip felt overpriced. Sadler's is a pleasant restaurant with good service, but the food quality doesn't quite justify the cost. Worth a stop if you're already in Jacksonville, but I wouldn't make the special trip again. Chicken fried chicken was juicy and properly seasoned and the best we'd ever had. Ditto for the green beans and the okra. She wouldn't tell us what she puts in the green beans, but it's some combination of bacon grease and magic, I swear. The okra was fresh cut, fresh battered, fresh fried, unlike every other place I get it where you can tell it's out of a bag. Hot water cornbread was ah-mazing. I only wish I had honey to slather on it along with the butter. White gravy was fantastic, with just a hint of sweetness we couldn't quite put our finger on. Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were delicious, but also the only things I can say were on par with some of our other favorites. Prices are extremely reasonable.
