We stopped by this family owned and operated 'cue joint (our 90th BBQ adventure in Texas) to learn whether they were still trimming the bark off the brisket (they are), and using a microwave to warm the plate (still the case). $35.18 purchased a 2 meat platter (brisket and links) with a medium side of baked beans, and a sausage plate with a medium side of potato salad. The latter is our favorite commercial product, while the beans are terrific-- a rich molasses based bowl into which we dipped the otherwise bland brisket to add flavor. The sausage and links both proved to be good bites, both packing heat, especially the links. We stopped by on a whim based on a Facebook post. It's a very small older dusty building with limited seating and no restroom. They do not take cards. You have to pay cash or Zelle. They will sell out and close without notice. But we lucked out. We didn't know that most people call ahead and preferably a day or two ahead. We did have to wait about 45 minutes for our food. We were glad they hadn't already sold out. But it was quite the foodventure. Based on the aforementioned Facebook post, I ordered the Mr Big loaded baked potato. It has ham and brisket, cheese, sour cream, and bbq sauce. It came in an open faced to go container because there was no way it was closing. I had to dig down through several inches of meat just to reach the actual potato. I had to give some to my husband just to be able to close it to take home. Then I had to ask for a piece of tape. Well worth the price. My husband got the strawberry lemonade. Too sweet for me. He liked it. But it is served in a large mason jar which you get to keep. It had real strawberries in it. She even came and refilled it when it was about half gone. He got the mix plate. You can choose one or two or three meats. He got brisket and hot links. Large portions of meat. You don't get to choose the sides. You get potato salad and baked beans. He was very pleased with the amount of food. If you come expecting too much as far as atmosphere you might be disappointed. But if you want great food and a lot of it then call them up and bring your cash.

You order at a counter, and a very polite young man took our orders and said it would be brought out to the table. While we were waiting a very friendly gentleman stopped by the table to welcome us in and see if we needed anything while waiting for our drinks. I was struck by how friendly the staff was and it definitely made a great first impression. I've been pleasantly surprised to find that BBQ places usually have options for vegetarians because of all the delicious sides (which is my favorite part anyway). I was very happy to enjoy a baked potato, mac and cheese, cole slaw etc as my family enjoyed the typical bbq fare. We were given I think one cup of bbq sauce with our plate but were able to get more when we asked the staff. As we were eating, Moma T herself came out and introduced herself, and just like everyone else we met she is one of the nicest people I've met. So super welcoming and even offered us a slice of complimentary cheesecake. It was super generous but we ended up going up to order and pay for two slices of cheesecake. It was very decadent, maybe a little too sweet for me but they had a ton of different flavors that all looked delicious.
