Stopped on my way from san antonio to Shreveport and it was well worth the stop. I ordered brisket, sausage and pork ribs. All of it was great and ribs fell off bone. Staff was great and "Big Rip" himself checked on me and we chatted. Highly recommend this for really good bbq. read more

First time to try Big Rip's- found it on yelp and it was a good find! the prices are reasonable for bbq- The best side in my opinion were the beans- very flavorable. The cole slaw was pretty good but needed a little something in my opinion. The beans were the best. This place is definition of a hole in the wall. The brisket was good- sausage was fine- nothing special per say but good. The inside is tiny for ordering but they do have a pickle area which is nice with jalepenos, onions, two types of pickles and free beans. The staff was friendly. I don't recommend the corn bread muffins- the ones we got were severely burnt. I'm sure they would have been tasty if they were cooked properly but they fell apart in my hand because they were overcooked and dry. Seating is only outside but it's covered. This is a good bbq local find in chandler! Check it out! read more

Big Rip's Delicious BBQ - 3 Meat Plate with cole slaw and beans - Barbeque Near Me - Chandler, Texas

We drove all the way to this place and were looking forward to some great BBQ. Unfortunately, even though it was usual business hours, they were closed. No explanation. Just a sign on the door that they were closed for several days (August 15-19). I can't review food that I was not able to taste. We ended up somewhere else and it was not bad, but I was disappointed that I was not able to try Big Rip's. read more

It was okay. Not great and not terrible. Brisket was good and ribs were dry. Desserts are the best thing. Service wasnt overly friendly but also not rude. Portions were good. read more

Man, this is some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time. Owned and operated by the nicest people you'll meet, too. The price is right, the outdoor dining area and air-conditioned restrooms are clean, and I felt right at home. Thank you, Big Rip and Coco! See you soon. read more

I can't say this loud enough, this is the best BBQ around Tyler. I don't care how "famous" Stanley's is.. this place is SO much better all around. The meat is superb, but the sides are actually insainly good.. the potato salad is the BEST and the cowboy beans just have the right flavor and consistency. It's really perfect. On top of that it's family owned and the service is fantastic as we were leaving my boyfriend said "she was so sweet we need more people like that in the world".. The sauces are good too! Plus if someone isn't craving BBQ in your group there is a food truck next door! read more

Its the best ribs in chandler tx and friendly place to eat those ribs in towon. And those sand wiches

On Saturday, we ordered brisket, pork rib, coleslaw, and loaded potato to go. However, when we returned to the hotel, we discovered that we had only received brisket, pork rib, and coleslaw. We called to request a refund for the missing loaded potato. The response was that we could either return in person today or tomorrow (Sunday). Later, we learned that the restaurant only operates from Wednesday to Saturday. Despite this, the server had assured us that we could return on Sunday, which is not their operating day. When I called the restaurant again to inquire about the refund, we were told that how we can get an refund on non working day. We got an answer that it was "your business." This experience was highly unprofessional and unreliable. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not from the area, as it seems that they are indifferent to the missing order and even more so to customers who do not return. Food was okay. read more

Big Rip's isn't the fancy barbecue restaurant you take friends to make an impression. It is the side of road barbecue joint that epitomizes Texas barbecue. Dam good brisket, links, pork and the typical fixings. It's the kind of place where the food is why you come here. The owner/operator works the smoker and lives his passion by simple making amazing food. There may be places with more popularity but Roy just shows up and delivers on making people happy they came by. A true gem worth the price of admission. read more

The only good thing we had was the banna pudding. Big Rip himself was very friendly. We were hoping to like the food as we were from out of town and one of the hotel staff suggested it to us. The brisket on the potato I had and on the brisket sandwich my mo. Had was dry and finally chopped. BBQ sauce was tasty but did not help the dryness. The cornbread muffins where cold and tasted old. My daughter had the ribs they where dry and tough to eat defintly not falling off the bone. It was really expensive for mediocre food. read more

Absolutely delicious BBQ brisket sandwich!!! Large portions and extremely tender meat!

The baked potato and brisket plate was delicious. And the banana pudding, was delightful.

Absolutely the best BBQ in the area! The ribs are smoked to perfection and fall off the bone tender. Brisket is good too, and I can't get over the baked potatoes! So creamy and loaded with all kinds of yummyness packed in. Be hungry before you order the loaded potato - it's huge!! I would give them 5 stars for their beef and sausages, but I give them 4 stars because the chicken I got today was like chicken jerky. Very tasty but could barely chew it. Everything else we have tried has been awesome and we will definitely be repeat customers - especially for those loaded potatoes, ribs, and sausage on a stick! Yum!! read more

The bbq here is great for the most part, everything is just delicious. The only complaint I have is that everytime I go here I get the hardest burntest bits of chopped beef in my potato. I wish they could do something about that, otherwise great place! read more

Ate lunch here Saturday June 24 around 2:30pm. Parking is all paved and seating is ALL outdoor. To order step inside the building. It's pretty small in there but the menu is simple to navigate. I ordered the Mrs Rip and it was gooood! With chips and a soda got out at $12. Good place to stop and rest and get a bite to eat. read more

Our family was on a trip in East Texas and wanted some good barbecue. We arrived just before they were closing and while we were a little bummed that they sold out of brisket, we were able to get a rack of ribs. They were amazing, fall off the bones and seasoned just right so you really taste the smoke and tender meat flavors. You don't need any sauce for them but they have delicious regular or spicy sauces with the right amount of sweetness. We chose potato salad and cowboy beans for sides, added on fresh cornbread muffins. When we heard they had pecan pie and cobbler we added that on, too. All of it was incredible and filled us with leftovers to enjoy later. We are picky BBQ eaters and have had the best of the best here in Texas and this is top notch. The amazingly friendly staff let us sit on the patio to enjoy our food even though they had just about closed. We enjoyed conversation with who I can only guess was the pit Master Rip himself. Be sure to stop by Big Rips, you will not be disappointed! read more

Big Rip's Delicious BBQ - Full rack of AMAZING ribs - Barbeque Near Me - Chandler, Texas

Don't let the fact that it is a small building deter you from stopping by. There were three or four people on the inside, so the server met us at the door with a menu and offered to take our order. Our plans were to get the food to go, but her hospitality was worth the sit down. My husband got the Ms Rip, it comes with a large brisket sandwich, chips, and a drink. It was a reasonable price for what you get. I got the loaded brisket nachos and homemade banana pudding. There wasn't anything spectacular about the nachos, I would have added jalapeños, sour cream, green onions, or something to give them an edge, but the banana pudding made me forget about the nachos. Oh yes, the pudding is the real deal. Not that jello with cookies stuff, naw this like Grandmomma use to make. I shared a little, but I didn't want to. Lol read more

Great bbq. It's family owned. Always friendly. No place to eat inside but tables outside for sunny days.

Well I was headed to Wades Place and apparently they are no longer open a solid time slot and I got there when they were closed. Saw a BBQ place across the street next to the RR tracks. My goodness!!! You know I always thought the best ribs in town were RibMasters ribs. Not even close!!! These ribs are tender, succulent, and smoked all the way through. Three different types of beans, delicious potato salad, and a list of homemade desserts. Try them. You won't regret it. read more
