The owners are Super Nice but the food is entirely too expensive. A 1/2 piece of corn that was supposed to be smoked but wasn't was 4+$. A loaded baked potato was almost 20 $ and all it had was brisket and butter. No cheese, onions, peppers etc. And the potato was small. I was super disappointed. And therefore I really don't see myself spending 50$ for a super plain small baked potato and a 1\2 piece of boiled corn again. We don't mind the drive to Whitehouse from Chandler because we are never disappointed. The ribs are always tender, meaty & oh so tasty. I always get the same thing - ribs, potato salad, baked beans and they are always good. The service is on point, friendly & fast. This place is in the rotation & we try to make it 2-3 times a month. Was told this was a great place for ribs. We made the drive to have lunch. We were greeted like neighbors upon arrival. The service was fast and very friendly. The pork ribs were wonderful. The meat was tender and the flavor was heavenly. The sides of beans and potato salad were outstanding. We will return anytime we get ready for ribs even though its a distance from us. Tender delicious ribs with a sugary crust. Fall off the bone tender. The pork sandwich was tender. No fat. Very flavorful. Huge. I had to take half of it home. Good tea, Cole slaw and potato salad. Great service. I would definitely be back when in town. read more

Racism is still very much active in 2023. Took my grandbabies and make it a vacation bc I wanted the ribs and berry cobbler from Ribmasters. Paid to stay close by. Spent $250 on food including a to go order. Drove back to Houston and the 2 lbs of ribs was not there. I called immediately when I got home, 3 hr plus drive and the guy on the phone apologized and stated the owner would apologize profusely and do whatever to make it right. WRONG. The owner called the next day to basically insinuate that I was lying. Stating they have cameras, food was in the box etc. I was highly offended and told him so. Whitehouse is 89% white, 5 % black and I truly feel from his response and his wife if I was in the 89% the situation would have been handled differently. All black people do not want something for nothing. I will never set foot in this place ever again. Totally not acceptable. I drive from Houston a few times a year just to come here. Never again. We got to do better. This is not how I should remember June 16th, my birthday. read more

The first time I came here did not give a review. They told us they were out of ribs. It's what we wanted. We ordered something else. Five minutes after we sat down another man walked in and ordered two rib plates and they gave it to him. Apparently they did have ribs. On a business trip through East Texas and in search of the quintessential Texas BBQ experience. I've been on a couple trips to Austin prior to this and handsome great BBQ so I'm not a rookie despite being from California. In Brownwood I had some bad "BBQ" but this SO made up for it. Located in the small town of Whitehouse on highway 110, this is an example of great BBQ. They offer a combo plate dinner where you can get all 5 meats they offer plus two sides. I went with the brisket and sausage and was not disappointed. I ordered the brisket sliced (you can also get chopped) and it wa good stuff, especially when paired with their BBQ sauce (on the table and labelled "beef" of course). The sausage was awesome, juicy and flavorful. I went with the potato salad and the baked beans as my sides. The salad was good, the beans outstanding. Use the bread to soak up the bean sauce, believe me. The staff there is fantastic and when the waitress found out it was my first time ever there she gave me a free rib to try. I wasn't originally in the mood for ribs but as I sat there eating I wished I had since they smelled fantastic. My sample did not disappoint. Tender off the bone and fantastic, it was the kind of messy and sticky a good rib should be. It is for sure a popular place as the locals were streaming in after 5 while I sat in my car writing up this review. Get the sweet tea and some cobbler for the true Texas BBQ experience if you're from out of town. And if you're traveling around the Tyler Texas area, head to Whitehouse and look for the red building across from the Valero gas station. You will not be disappointed. read more

Glad we did we both got the small rib plate 4 ribs they were awesome as usual I didn't get a pic they were gone before I thought about it. I've ordered food twice from here now and both times have been a disappointment. The first time, I had a few friends over so we ordered brisket, chicken, pulled pork, and a few sides. I got a call about 30 minutes lasted and they were out of brisket, chicken, cole slaw, and green beans. It was 6pm! Absolutely ridiculous but I figured maybe a big party had come and cleaned them out so I gave them another chance today. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and brisket baked potato. I got another call about 20 minutes after ordering that they did not have baked potatoes. I said to just deliver the rest of it and when it got here there was no bbq sauce. Seriously... a bbq joint that doesn't send sauce. The food is not good enough to deal with the headache of trying to get what you ordered. read more

The staff working was polite and upbeat, which was a plus. The brisket sandwich for $5.79 was a good deal, especially so since there was a pile of meat on the bun. The side item for $1.99 wasn't too bad either. The only downside was that while ample, the brisket was somewhat dry, and I had to douse it in sauce to give it added flavor. The brisket was also slightly rubbery at times and I had to be conscientious while eating it. Was so excited that my husband finally got a Friday off so we could go and have all you can eat ribs at Ribmasters Whitehouse, it's been a while (over a year) since he's normally working. We walk in and the dining room is about a quarter full, we sit down, takes a few since there are several to go orders in front of us, that's ok we're pretty patient. Our waitress comes to take our drink order, she apologizes for the wait, we let her know that we know what we want to eat as well, she gets our order, gets our drinks, puts in our order and we wait, and wait. Our waitress is all over the place because the guy behind the counter can't seem to make up his mind where he's going to work, there is a table of 5 sitting in front of us that she's waiting on, 2 tables of 2 behind us that she's waiting on ALL BY HERSELF!!!! What?! She brings out our food as the table of 5 is getting ready to go, one gentleman at the table goes up, pays his tab and gives HIS WAITRESS a $20 tip for a great job, isn't that fantastic! So then the guy that's been behind the counter not waiting on tables has the audacity to tell her that it HIS TABLE and that tip was HIS!?!?!?! I wouldn't believe it if I didn't witness it, as did other diners. She as I found out later is Tisa, gave it to him!! This is after the cook has a meltdown and screams at the servers, where we all could hear, including arguing with the servers and he (other server) was yelling at her about an order! The ribs were fantastic, the potato salad and baked beans don't taste the same. I've been going here since it opened many years ago, I honestly don't think we'll be back any time soon, the service has gone down hill so bad. Stopped in after the lunch rush. Was greeted by the very friendly server, who told me I could order at the counter or table. She asked if I had been there before, and when I said no she brought me a sample rib. The ribs are spares, with a nice smoke ring and very subtle smoke flavor. They are very pretty, glazed with a sweet and slightly spicy finishing sauce. That sauce is amazing. The ribs fell off the bone a bit more than I would like, but the meat was moist and the pork flavor came through. Got brisket along with the ribs. It was chopped, my fault for not specifying that I prefer it sliced. It's hard for me to judge chopped brisket, but it was moist, again mildly smoky and tasted like it should. For a side I just had green beans, which were canned but seasoned up a little. The service was very friendly and welcoming. I would go back. read more
