Seat yourself, the waitress will be right over with a double sided laminated menu. Breakfast burrito for me, chicken fried steak and eggs for the hubby. Burrito was tasty- but don't be surprised if the salsa on the side tastes like Pace Picante Sauce. (Cause I'm pretty sure it IS Pace.) Hubby likes the steak, said he'd come back for it again. Got Bev's "Big" breakfast - what a letdown. Small portion of eggs, 2 well done small sausage patties and 2 thin bacon strips. And it came out cold so they took it back and microwaved it to death, which just made the over cooked sausage patties even worse. I will start by saying, if you want to get service quickly go to another restaurant. This place gets busy and even though the servers are friendly it's a wait to get your meal and if you don't mind waiting, enjoy. Also it's pricey for what one gets. The ambiance is very diverse which makes it relaxing to the guests. Let's get to the meal, my wife and I order the over easy eggs with sausage patties and bacon. I had the pancake with my meal and she opted out. The eggs and the bacon were delicious but the sausage patties were hard to eat, just one bit is all it took for us to decide they tasted like waffle crackers and cold. So don't order the sausage patties. Even though the bacon was good it was a bit greasy. Let's talk about the pancake (Dry) so it only two bits and off the side it went. It's definitely a local home town cafe to say the least so that is my response on maybe recommending this establishment to folks. Service was pretty quick and very friendly. Ordered a breakfast that came with gravy to be on the side, never got it. Ordered an omelette with biscuit and gravy, I guess cheese on an omelette is considered an ornamental garnish here. Got only a small serving of gravy. At $2.75 each for coffee and tea, at least the offer of a refill would be appreciated. Other than delivering breakfast, we never saw our server again until she dropped the check. Would have liked some salsa but we never saw anyone to ask. All in all, this was an extremely mediocre, wasted dining experience. Dennys that closed across the parking lot was better. read more

We've only been here for breakfast a handful of times and while it's not brunch at the ritz, the food is pretty good (not the sausage, it's hockey pucks)--but the Texas shape waffle is awesome!! We really wanted to like this place and, since we missed the 10:30am cutoff time for our favorite staple breakfast spot, we decided to give it a shot. Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day, so it is normally quite difficult for me NOT to like a.m. diner food...even when it isn't the greatest. This place, however, somehow accomplished the feat of serving us the blandest & greasiest breakfast I've probably ever had in my life! Let me back up for a moment though. When we first walked in, there was a large wooden sign that instructed patrons to seat themselves...so we did. Then we waited....and waited.......and waited. We watched several couples and groups of people enter and seat themselves after us, and they were all quickly brought menus while we continued to wait. Then we watched in disbelief as they were brought drinks...while we continued to wait a ridiculous amount of time before we were finally brought a couple of menus by a rude waitress with a smirk on her face that tossed the menus in our direction and said "There you go, what do you want to drink?" Needless to say, this wasn't starting off well and we nearly up and left at this point....but, it was nearing noon and I still hadn't eaten anything, so we decided to "stick it out" since some of the reviews on Yelp etc were pretty good. What a mistake... Luckily, yet strangely, a different waitress came and took over our table and she was very nice. I asked her what was good in her opinion, popular, etc...and she highly recommended something called something to the effect of the "cow camp breakfast". She described it and it sounded good so I said what the heck, I'll take the "cow camp breakfast". We waited a VERY long time after we ordered and, finally, this horribly unappealing platter is laid out in front of me. It all SOUNDED good (hash browns on the bottom, covered in scrambled eggs that were mixed together with sautéed sausage, onions, and green peppers, then white gravy poured all over the top of it) when the waitress described it, but it looked like a small ball of undercooked scrambled eggs mixed in with nearly raw peppers and scissor-cut pieces of cheap sausage patties...and the white gravy that was on top was a dried up mess with CRACKS that had already formed all over it. YUCK YUCK YUCK!! I ate my plate ONLY because I was extremely hungry and didn't have time to wait another half hour for something else to eat instead. I will say the biscuit was kind of good, but that sadly may have been because I ate it last after that grease ball disaster that was on my plate. My partner couldn't even eat his chicken fried chicken and, I kid you not, each time he cut into his chicken grease would just POUR out of it!! =O He had to politely send it back and refused to even try anything else after the gross food he saw on my plate too. I hate to be so negative, but this place was NOT good at all at all AT ALL...I just don't want someone else like me to fall prey to some of the great reviews on yelp. Don't believe the hype, the food was BAD, really really bad! On a positive note, the manager was shown the plate of burnt chicken fried steak that was bleeding a fountain of grease and apologized and removed the charge for that dish completely off of our ticket. The waitress said the cook was pulled aside by the manager as well. Sort of TMI for us, as we will definitely never be going back again. read more

Stopped on the way through town. Greeted kindly upon entrance. The decorations are nice, and the restrooms are clean and well kept up. The chicken was good. Perhaps not super amazing, but better than other places we'd stopped. The toast though, tasted amazing. That was some awesome toast. I also had a potato and salad, which were average, but good. Don't be in a hurry!!! Waited for a hour, got a "salads in a small bowl and teas for two adults and a child's tea. Didn't have what I ordered, found out 45 min later, so told them loaded mashed potatoes instead of baked potatoes which they didn't have, food came out with regular mashed was told the loaded ones would be higher! My first time here. No one greeted me. I had no idea if I should just pic a table or wait. I ordered the chicken fry with potatoes and peas. It was average at best. This place is just your old average greasy spoon they served me a piece of bread on the side that was not toasted or grilled and was stale on one side. My waitress who was Janie took my order and dropped off my food and never returned. Finally she came and laid the bill on the table and didn't bother to tell me how to pay or where. Being new to the area weekends are our time to be adventurous and find out what the locals have to offer so we headed out to Bev's after hearing a few good things about the place....my ears must have been clogged! You come in and find your own place to sit and after 6 other people being given menus and drinks before us that had come in AFTER us I was about to lose my cool...then Melanie the miserable shows up plops down some menus and says "here are some menus"....."what do you want to drink" to which I loudly reply "HI"...lol we ended up with a new waitress Sandy who was very nice! Finally after browsing the menu my partner orders the recommended "cow camp" and I order the chicken fried chicken......when our food came out his portion looked TINY...I mean TINY!! My food looked like well a pile of almost burned fries dripping literally dripping in grease covering a chicken fried chicken that also had been fried to oblivion...thank God for the steak knife or I would have never been able to cut it. After ONE bite it was clear this was not going to work because grease began POURING out of the chicken and all over my plate...my waitress was so nice I felt horrible even having to tell her but at this point I was already irritated at the service coming in and now this it was just absurd. She was very polite and offered to make something else and when I declined she told me she would let the owner and chef know and when she came back with the ticket it had been fixed and assured me the issue would be addressed.
