Food was great busy service was ridiculously unprofessional. I originally placed and order Online (Wednesday)with plenty of time to ensure my order was not rushed. At pick up it took about 45 min, which I understand restaurants get busy but again I placed my order about 45 min to an hour prior to the additional 45 min wait. Once I got home I was missing multiple side items. When I called to see if I could get compensated they stated I could pick up such items with an order in store or online. Today is Sunday and I called to see if I could pick up my missed items as I was in the area. I waited 15 min on the phone to have someone tell they had to check to see if one of the items would be done prior to picking it up. I was then placed on hold for another 15 min to wait for someone to "take my order". I had to hang up and call again, when they answered the phone I had to repeat myself again and instead of the girl who answered the phone apologizing she proceeded to say "it's ok" for the fact that I had to wait, hang up and call again! Obviously that was NOT ok. Not sure if they are understaffed or what the deal is but this will be the last time I order at this location. read more

After reading reviews I could not believe all of the complaints about slow service. So my wife and I decided to roll the dice, we rolled craps! We were seated promptly. Waited 17 minutes for water, ordered a beer and wine. Waited 12 minutes for bar drinks. Placed order for appetizer and food. 22 minutes later our dinner shows up, our appetizer did not. My wife had grilled chicken sandwich which she like the flavor. I ordered meatloaf, mashed and mac and cheese. Everything was cold, yes even potatoes. That tells me it sat on some shelf for a lengthy time. I was not shocked having read review, just disappointed. Manager comes by and asked if everything was ok? I told him everything was cold. He apologizes and asked if I would like another order. I told him I did not have another 20 minutes to wait. He said, I can get you an order to go. I said ok, that would be great. The second chance meal, did not show up. I wonder where the problem could be coming from??? I chalked it up to the overall experience. Well, after having to ask twice to get the check, . While we were there we witnessed 3 tables get up and leave, 2 for slow service and the one next to us left because Jasmine did not put their order in. Thank you Yelp for giving me the opportunity to avoid the worst dining experience of 45 years of dining. I did notice several servers and manager was very quick to offer discounts and even comp entire meal. This tells me this is normal process for them! How about just fixing your processes. I had good amount of time to observe your processes. You had 2 hostesses. Really! The only thing that went right the whole time was quick seating. Watched 2 people wiping down same tables. Watched servers walking around with one hand dirty dishes from tables. Give them a plastic tub to load up all dishes at once versus making 5 trips to empty dirty table. Drinks sat after being poured for some time. My beer had no head at all. I did ask Jasmine to check on our drinks to which she did took her time to grab another dirty dish and talk to coworkers before talking an older lady that eventually wondered over with our drinks dripping trail of beer from glass and all over table. We were going to leave and go to the fish place next door. First instinct was correct. I will end on a positive note...I really enjoyed the chicken and dumpling cup. We love this place for feel good home cooking . They have a vast menu from great hamburgers and sweet potato fries to meat loaf and green n beans or catfish and dumplings . The atmosphere is great not to noisy inside and plenty of light . They also have patio seating with a great view !! Prices are very good for what you get !! What if Cheddars, Chili's, and Applebees got together and had a baby with Southern flair? Well the end result would be Cotton Patch. The thing that starts me off judging a Southern style restaurant or any restaurant for that matter is the quality of the sweet tea. This is where they lost me. It was not really sweet and tasted kinda old. I thought it may just be the batch was towards the end so my group changed to the peach sweet tea and it was the same thing with a hint of peach.. Seriously Cheddars and Chili's have this tea thing down. The cheese fries were good but the waiter was not. He never brought us the rolls that came with our food even after we asked and the chicken fried steak was mostly breading. I don't eat gluten so when I asked my waitress for corn tortillas she replied that they don't have them. Ok that's fine. Please bring me a lettuce wrapped burger. Her response "well, it won't look very pretty!". Frankly, I don't care how it looks. I'd rather not have stomach pains from the bread. Fried mushrooms are good...but can be a bit mushy. Asked to have marinara instead of ranch, no prob, but it was served ice cold. Potato soup is always a bit too thick, and not very 'soupy". Great chicken friend steak (or chicken) Love the broccoli-cheese-rice casserole. (just like moms) Service is usually great....but my biggest complaint is the iced tea! It is ALWAYS ALWAYS weak. So weak, that even in a green plastic cup you can see through it!! It is almost like sweetened water. That alone knocks off a full star, sorry but this is Texas, and we love our sweet iced tea and we like it strong. read more

The food is really good but inconsistent and we were told it was due to different cooks. but they have good food and good atmosphere. But some days the mac and cheese is runny and some days it is very thick, really thick, and once in a while it is right in the middle and perfect. We eat at Cotton patch 2 to 3 times a month. The service here is always excellent. The wait staff is very well trained and food delivery is consistently timed regardless of how busy the kitchen is with orders. Food is good quality. The menu has something for everyone. Food is okay- nothing special. First time I visited, I had a chicken salad, I believe, and while it was fairly priced, nothing stood out. My second visit, I had a turkey sandwich and fries, and was mostly satisfied. Third visit was a burger- and there is no way to disguise a previously frozen, microwaved burger patty; they serve them here! Yuck! No flavor, slimy, and not served hot. The fries are always okay- they're what you'd find at any chain. The service is what will keep me away, though. I can always order something else, but the staff is constantly changing. They seem stressed and over worked. My last visit, my sever practically threw a hissy fit when he was told to clean up spilled water. He had a horrible attitude and made sure everyone around him knew that it wasn't his job to work a mop! The disrespect alone from that guy, towards the mgr was enough! We've been dining at the Cotton Patch Cafe in Georgetown since it opened. During its early days, it was a little hit and miss. However, its consistency, in terms of quality of food and service, has improved considerably in recent months. Though the Cotton Patch is a chain restaurant, the chicken fried steak is the best we've found in the Georgetown area - large, tender and with a crispy batter. I've never had a tough piece of meat, and it is large enough that I have a little left to take home. The steamed broccoli is also the best. It is always perfectly steamed so that the broccoli is firm and tasty, not hard or mushy. A small thing, perhaps, but indicative of the care used to prepare the food. The fried fish is another consistently good dish, too. Service is generally good and the place is clean. read more

I have been here plenty of times, although every time is a pretty good experience i came here with my mom for my early birthday lunch and couldn't have asked for a better experience! I got the steak and shrimp, the steak was cooked perfectly and our server Alex I think was his name was amazing! We've went to this location during an off hour to have a drink and snack on a nice day! We sat on the patio and really enjoyed the service. Ordered their basic burger and fries. As typical the pic on the menu is far better than what arrives. Burger no better than any fast food joint. Fries were a greasy mess. Don't show me a pic of green leaf lettuce, large pickles, if you are going to dump shredded lettuce and a couple tiny pickles on the burger. The fries look like they are being dumped in old oil so they come out a strange color rather than a nice light golden color as they should. Server was slow to even come to our table, and then took the drink order from the table that came in after us first. Probably won't go back. Love the chicken fried steak, love the fried mushrooms, love their sweet potato fries. BUT everytime we order to-go they forget something. First time rolls and dressing for salad. Secound time forgot to put our order in all together, thank god i had remembered the guys name who take my order on the phone or I would have looked like a crazy person, and third time gravy for the chicken fried steaks- not the same without gravy. We went there for the first time two days ago, on SB Sunday. Marisa made the meal AMAZING!!!!!! The food was really good (fried green tomatoes!!!!) but the service was also top notch. And my boyfriend and I are foodies. EddieVs is my favorite spot - but I can say We will visit this place again because it's close to home, they have good seafood offerings (I had blackened tilapia with crawfish and shrimp), and most importantly the service- I just want to see MARISA again!!!!! read more

Just had the worst experience at Cotton Patch Cafe this evening. We've eaten here a couple of other times before and the food is just ok and the service is so-so, but we like sitting on their outside patio with our kids, so we still come. Never again. The appetizer took almost an hour to come. We were all still in a really good mood and this didn't phase us. My husband and I ordered the Rib Eye platter and we like our steaks medium. It took almost another hour for our meals to come, slowest service ever, the waiter was never anywhere to be found. When we got our steaks, mine and my husband's steaks were cooked well past well done. So when the waiter asked us if it looked ok, we said no, we would really prefer a medium steak. So they said that they would cook another steak for us. The manager came by our table and apologized and said he would give us a coupon gor our meals. We were very pleasant and said thank you and that we would appreciate that. So my husband and I munched on our sides of mashed potatoes and okras while we waited and waited and waited for our new steaks. Which never arrived! Turns out the waiter never put in the order and he had expected us to eat our steaks, which by this time was cold and inedible. Then he expected us to pay for the steaks that we didn't even eat! They finally took the steaks off our ticket and we left hungry and disappointed and appalled that this place is still in business! read more

Terrible service. I came and ordered a salmon caesar salad and the salad came with huge chunks of ice in it. The waitress did not bring any bread and when we asked for some she only brought the regular loaf and when we asked for the cornbread she said they were out and it's there policy to not make anymore after 9 even though they stay open well after. Then she told us the bread she brought was also the last of that and said it in a you should be happy you got this tone. the people behind us came after us and got both breads because their water wasn't inept. She never came to refill our waters either. We asked for a manager and while she explained that this bread policy was not true she did say they don't make the cornbread after a certain time (so I guess it is true...). They comped our meal for the mess so service was saved a bit. That waiter should be fired. The salad was just ok but I have to say the salmon was quite tasty. This would be 1 star if it wasn't for the comp and salmon quality. read more

My wife and I have eaten at many restaurants over the years and this is the first time we felt a review was warranted. In fact this is our first review on any type of establishment. This is our third visit to the Georgetown Cotton Patch Cafe, and each time we did not enjoy our meal. Each time we thought that we would give it another try. The third time will be the last. The pork chops were tasteless and heavily salted, as was the baked potato. My hamburger meat (I think it was meat) looked and tasted like it had been run over by a truck with flat tires. We were served tea, but no spoons for the tea bags, and no offer of water. The waiter was very polite, but that did little to enhance the taste of the meal. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! Went there for the first time today. I was absolutely starving after fasting for the past 24 hours. Our sweet waiter brought out these huge homemade rolls which were delicious and I got a strawberry lemonade to drink, so good! I got a salad with fried chicken on it (so tender and again, delicious) and mom and I split some fried green tomatoes!! We were seated right away as there were very few customers in the restaurant. We arrived at 2:00 for a late lunch before we had to catch our plane to go home. Our server, didn't catch her name but she is the waitress with the long blonde ponytail with curly hair. She was very soft spoken and nice while she took our order from our group of 7. We were immediately brought our appetizer order. I was just about ready to ask the waitress as we waited 50 minutes to get our lunch where it is then the waitress came over and said she was so busy running around that she forgot to put our order in. Well there was hardly any other customers in the facility. It took another 20 minutes for our lunch to be served. She did apologize but when asked for the fries that came with a lunch that we did not get she copped an attitude and refused to bring the fries. On the menu it says baskets come with fries. Well she eventually brought them then under her breath behind our table she copped a rude comment saying baskets don't come with fries. She also forgot to bring the fried okra and the corn bread to the table that was also in our forgotten order which I had to get up and go ask for them. She never once came to see if everything was fine after we got our lunch. She was very rude. No manager came over to our table and no apology from the waitress for her poor attitude after bringing our lunch. Came in with more staff than occupied tables and had slow service. My son slipped his drink we used our napkins to clean it up and it took three times to get to another napkin for each person at the table. Our baked potatoes were not all the way cooked, and my grilled chicken was burned on one side. Others at my table had better food than I did. Lots of waitstaff standing around chatting while we and the table next to us waited quite a while for things we requested or drinks to be refilled. Disappointing. read more
