This place is the pits. I've given it lots of tries, but in the end, I can't give it more than a 1 star review. Service today wasn't horrible like it normally is, but you can tell most of the servers there didn't want to be there. The food was mediocre. I almost always get the fish and chips. Well, the chips today were so stale they were inedible. It amazes me that a place will fry up stale fries, let them get soggy and mushy and then serve them. If you can't be bothered to know if your food is fresh or not, you should get out of the food service industry. We only went to Cotton Patch because there was a substantial wait at Sushi Zen. I placed an order for delivery last night around 7:30pm on a Thursday that consisted of 2 chicken fried steaks with gravy and sides. Pretty simple. What arrived at my house was horrible. There is a sticker on the packaging the food arrived in that indicates the type of delivery and who prepared and quality checked the order. This sticker was left blank on the quality check section. It's pretty obvious there was NO quality check on my order. The first entree consisted of a chicken fried steak, with cream gravy, mac and cheese, and fries. The chicken fried steak was a decent portion size, however, NO gravy came with it! That's like getting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with no peanut butter. The mac and cheese portion size was literally about 3 bites. The styrofoam container it came in was less than half full. The portion size of the fries was adequate. Extremely disappointed in this overall. The second entree consisted of a chicken fried steak, with cream gravy, black-eyed peas, fries, and a side salad. The chicken fried steak was a decent portion size on this one too, however, again NO gravy came with it! The black-eyed peas came in the same size styrofoam container as the mac and cheese, but the container was full, a decent and proper portion size. I had requested extra dressing for the salad, but that was not included--they only sent one very small plastic cup of dressing. The portion size of the salad and fries was adequate. Extremely disappointed in this overall. Two dinner rolls also came with the meal, but there was no jelly or butter to accompany them. Just two dry rolls. To top off the missing gravy, the shorted salad dressing, the minuscule mac and cheese portion, and no butter for the rolls, the order also arrived cold. The delivery took about 15 minutes longer than expected and I suspect that the food sat on the counter at the restaurant for a while before the driver picked it up. This entire experience with Cotton Patch in Frisco was just poor. Cotton Patch Frisco dropped the ball big time on this. Because of the poor quality control and all of the problems that caused with this order I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. Getting items correct for a simple two entree order should be second nature. These are simple things that the restaurant should not have missed. read more

This was the worst food and experience I've had in a very long time. We ended up getting our food to go because the silverware was filthy, all 3 times I asked for clean silverware. Then I asked for plastic utensils and they told me they are all out so we got our food to go. The food was so bland and over cooked. The breading on the chicken fried steak and the fried Shrimp had no flavor and so thick and hard. The mashed potatoes were hard and no flavor. Even with hot sauce it was bad. Does anyone even care at the restaurant? Server was clearly on drugs, managers are completely rude. Someone needs to inform them that we can all hear them talking about the customers and staff. Completely unprofessional servers and management. Sat at a dirty table after waiting 15 minutes so the servers could figure out which one was actually going to do their job and wait on us. So many staff standing around doing nothing but talking loudly and on their phones. Server was incompetent and clearly on drugs. Got our order wrong, but we decided to eat it as we waited almost 1/2 hr for it. Meatloaf was hard and swimming in grease. Chicken fried steak was hard as a rock, mashed potatoes and gravy looked old and was not even room temp. Never got refills. Finally talked to two managers. One was completely dismissive and made excuses, the other just rude and acted like it was our fault for even coming into this place. Pros: 1 Minute wait time for curbside pickup. The meatloaf was delicious, and substantial in size. At about $40 for a 4-person meal, a good value. Cons: The quantity of the sides was less than acceptable. The green beans were about 3/4 full, and the mashed potatoes were about 1/2 full. Also, they advertise 6 rolls included with the family dinner, and only 5 were included. I contacted Jesse, the manager, to let him know, and he offered nothing to make up for the mistakes. So, while the food tasted good, when it was all done, we did not get what we paid for, and was not offered anything to make up for it. If you do choose to order from this place, check it before you leave. read more

If I could give negative stars I would in this case. I have been a regular customer of Cotton Patch for years, but I've been very disappointed several times now by the Frisco location. I have numbered the errors for easier reading. I placed an order to go on the phone and: (1) after waiting about 45 minutes to get my order, I arrived home to find several things wrong (2) I ordered the lemon herb salmon with no gravy on the potatoes and broccoli - There was no broccoli at all on the plate - that quadrant was empty! How in the world can you miss putting the vegetables on the to-go plate? There is a large empty area? (3) There was gravy on the mashed potatoes after I asked them to leave it off. It was even printed on my receipt that I wanted no gravy. (4) I also ordered a cobb salad with fried chicken but I only received one half of the chicken breast!! Again, how can you miss this?? When you're cutting it up, don't you start with a whole breast and wouldn't the other half still be sitting there after you add it to the salad? (5) I spoke to the manager on the phone and he said he would mail me a coupon for dinner for two and I never received it. (6) After the phone call, we realized the salmon was so covered in salt it was not edible and that was also when I discovered there was only half the chicken there was supposed to be. (7) As I ate the salad, I ran across something very crunchy where it shouldn't be. After thinking about it, I threw the salad away because I thought there was the possibility that someone did something to my food (possibly disgusting). (8) This is not the first time my order has been wrong, last week there was not salad dressing, times before other things have been left out. (9) Previous to this online review, I sent an email through the Cotton Patch website but received no response. Now I feel the situation should be made public so that others won't be suckered out of their money too. During the long wait, I did ask about politely about my order and they said the salad was taking a long time (why? Are they growing the vegetables and chicken?). After realizing how much was wrong with my order, I can't help but think this was intentional and must further wonder if something bad was done to my food. I leave good tips when I pick up for take out but then this is what is done? As it stands right now, I paid for a meal that was not edible and tipped for service that was worse than poor. Cotton Patch has money from me that doesn't belong to them. I would attach the image of the ticket from the to-go bag but it has my personal information on it. read more

Maybe you'll get a better server than Kasey C. We went into Cotton Patch Cafe for lunch. It was our first time, and they have a menu full of comfort food. Since hubby and I aren't big eaters, we decided to split the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, ands baked potato. The food was delicious, which is why I'm giving it two stars. But, it was hard to enjoy based in our experience, thanks to our server. Kasey was always in a hurry, and mildly rude while at our table. Otherwise, she pretty much was seen floating around behind the counter, avoiding eye contact. We were the only table in her section, so I don't know why we got such an attitude. We ordered the dinner portion of chicken fried chicken, gravy on the side. Lunch comes out, smothered in gravy. I opted to keep mine, but hubby asked to have his portion redone, since gravy bothers his stomach. He asks to keep his baked potato so he has something to eat while waiting on his food. She said that she would put it on another plate and bring it back. She never did. It sucks to be so hungry, and have to watch someone else enjoy their meal while you wait. It's equally hard to eat while someone else, who you know is hungry, is sitting at your table, watching you eat. So, his meal came back to him exactly as soon as I got done with my meal. My daugher and I came into the location on Sunday 12/1 during peak lunch hours. The store was extremely busy but seemed to be running very efficiently. We were more than impressed with our food and service we received from Ricky. The thing that stood out the most about our visit was the interaction the manager on duty was having with not only us but all of his guests and servers despite the lunch rush he was taking the time to coach his staff and check on his guests. He was very engaged and seemed to genuinely care about his customers' satisfaction. He checked on our food twice and introduced himself as Charife. We will definitely be back to this location! I took my mother here for the chicken fried steak special on Monday. The service was good and the dining area was clean. I love me some good old fashion yeast rolls. Their were pretty good but both times we got them they weren't hot. They weren't cold but I like them nice and hot. We both got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, mom got broccoli and I got Mac n cheese. Hey, might as well go all in on this fat food! The Mac and cheese was gooooodd! Nice and creamy and extra cheesy. I would go back and order a family sized side of this carb loaded deliciousness if I wouldn't blow up like a ballon. The potatoes tasted under cooked to me but mom said hers weren't. Maybe a different batch or I'm crazy... The gravy was good but the steak lacked seasoning. I attempted to go light on the gravy but just couldn't because the steak was so meh. I forgot to ask mom about the broccoli, but it was nice and green and didn't look over cooked. Overall a good experience with okay food. For the price I suppose I should expect much more but those same plates are normally 11.99. Ashley must be new. Waited ten minutes after we were seated before she came over. By that time we knew what we wanted, ordered our drinks, appetizer and food. She took another ten minutes to bring us our drinks. We actually got our app seconds after our drinks. Food took longer than usual and when it arrived, my daughter's fries were cold. Ashley seemed to perk up after she seated her friends in the booth behind us. We love this place and have always had excellent service and food. This evening was not good at all and service was poor. The place was full of servers who were all kind of standing around looking very bored and unhappy.
