Just me for dinner. Don't want to cook or heat a frozen meal. I open Uber Eats. Sometimes I go through all the choices and come up with nothing. Uber Eats does offer 40 percent off on some meals at Cotton Patch Cafe. $18 for $10 to get chicken fried chicken with all the trimmings. Great. I order, hoping It won't be cold when it gets here. The meal arrives warm. Good enough. Everything is just really good, especially when one is hungry. I added bread pudding to my order since I was saving $8 on the entire. This restaurant has been in Frisco for at lest 20 years. Many others in the neighborhood have come and gone, including national chains. Cotton Patch I still going serving Texas comfort food just the way customers expect. read more

This food was cooed to perfection !! Everything taste so good. The fried green tomato are perfect!!! The server was very sweet and well informed about menu items. It was warm and cozy inside and just felt like home. I know that Salmon is a pricey fish, but I think an equal exchange for what I paid should balance in portion. We used to be regulars at Cotton Patch and still go there from time to time. Tonight, though, I received no service. None. I was seated by the host, and after that - nothing. No server came by my table to greet me or bring water. I saw servers visit other tables in my area with food and drink, but no one gave me a second glance. After over 10 minutes, I simply got up and walked out. Maybe no one told my server they had a guest. Maybe they were on a break. I really don't know. But 10+ minutes without so much as a greeting or "We'll be there in a moment" - sorry, CP, but that's not service. read more

It's a shame I can't recommend this place because the staff was so nice if anything that needs to be said is that the staff was nice and the place was clean. What in God's name is this chicken-and-pasta nonsense? It's like someone raided the fridge at gunpoint and said yeah, that'll do. Tastes like it gave up before it hit the plate. And this burger - it's apologising for existing. For that money I'd expect something that at least pretended to be proud. Instead I get damp bread and a protein-shaped question mark. Burn it all. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner with corn, mash, and mac n cheese. Unfortunately, the meal was underwhelming. The cfc was overcooked, the mash was super clumpy, and the corn needed seasoning. I did enjoy the mac and bread, but I didn't pay $14 just to enjoy a side item. Ordered from this restaurant on Ubereats today for lunch. Paid extra to be 1st delivered so it would be hot and fresh. Delivery was a little early. Orders baked potato soup and hit which came cold and seemed to be lacking the potatoes. Friend green tomatoes which again were lukewarm. Broccoli rice casserole and again it was cold and we ordered some rolls which seemed to be the only thing warm and amazing. Just want to preface that I got food delivered from here, so I've never been inside the restaurant. I wanted to fix some post-dinner cravings. I was craving some comfort food and this location was recommended to me on the delivery app. The prices were reasonable and the pictures looked good. I ordered cornbread along with two Fried Chicken Steak plates with green beans and corn. The food looked fine upon first inspection, also I liked how everything was seasoned, but other than that I could barely eat this food. The cornbread was the only item without fault. It was good especially with the sweet butter. The gravy was okay too. I was excited for the chicken since it was fried nicely, but to my surprise the chicken was woody. The meat was crunchy yet rubbery. It was very off putting so I stopped eating it after a few bites. The other pieces of chicken were the same. The green beans were the texture and color of canned green beans and the taste was acidic which kinda gave it a spoiled taste. The corn was tasteless with some hard pieces. The price of the food was good and affordable, but I wouldn't have even eaten this food even for free. Maybe I just got unlucky on this order and got a bad batch of food. read more

Went to get lunch with my mother right at 4pm. Greeted by welcoming employees, nice atmosphere. Now we get to the food... honestly I'll never eat here again. I ordered the grilled chicken avocado sandwich. It was so tough I had to tear and chew into the chicken just to get a bite. The bread rolls were absolutely mediocre and tasted funny, I rather eat Hawaiian rolls bought from Walmart. The side house salad I got was basic, tasted like packaged salads you can get anywhere. My mother ordered the fried fish, she was severely disappointed. I had tried a bit of her fish and was disgusted by the lack of flavor but overall texture! I knew immediately it was badly cooked and spit it out. My mother an hour and a half later texts me that she got very sick from this place. This place has gone down hill unfortunately. read more

Didn't get to read all the reviews for this place, but not sure why the rating is as low as it is here. First off, the service was great! Our server was very attentive and always brought out refills before we even finished them. Very friendly! On to the food. We started off with the fried green tomatoes and they were very tasty. I got the bacon avocado burger and I mean, look at the picture! It almost looks like those burgers in commercials, so perfect and true, but never look like that in person. Well, I don't think this burger would look as good in a commercial as it did in real person. The taste just matched it! Lots of avocado! Better half had the chicken fried chicken with the macaroni and mashed potatoes. This is where the one star was deducted. I got a taste of the mashed potatoes and they were super dry and hard. Macaroni was flavorless as well. Chicken was good but not great. Place wasn't crowded and it was an early dinner, so we may try it out again at some earlier time to see how those potatoes improve, if at all. read more

All of these negative reviews are so funny to read because my experience was completely opposite. A good number of reviews complained about the service but I actually thought the service was a highlight! (Thanks Ben!) The server was patient with my questions and accommodated my last minute change of order without making a big deal about it. He made sure to let us know the rolls were complimentary when asking if we wanted any (and I'm glad he did because they were delicious and I almost say that about free bread). The food came out really quickly and the server attended to us multiple times throughout the meal to check whether we needed anything. I also saw some complaints about the portion sizes which is wild to me because I was stuffed. We even had leftovers! On top of the top-notch service and filling portion sizes, the price was right too (and that's even before applying the 20% off coupon my brother received from being on their email list). Don't listen to the haters. Cotton Patch Cafe is a solid spot that I'll definitely return to. read more

During my visit, the service was excellent, above and beyond ... I took note the menu had been recently revamped, just saying. Sadly, their awesome fried mushrooms are a distant memory. Now they're smaller in physical size as well as plating quantity - and greasy. Sides to my meal were excellent, but the main protein component wasn't so much - due to the small size and meat texture. I usually enjoy Cotton Patch, but my most recent visit was frustrating and disappointing. I ordered the chicken fried steak, but what I received was chicken. I sent it back, and when the plate came out again, it was still incorrect. It ended up taking 30 to 45 extra minutes for my correct food to come out, and by then, the person I was dining with had already finished their meal. The waitress initially told us that the kitchen messed up the order and that we would be compensated for the inconvenience, which seemed fair given the long wait and multiple mistakes. But when the manager came over, we were told the server actually entered the order wrong, and that they "couldn't do anything" to make it right. He very much had an "oh well" attitude.. So which is it -- the kitchen or the server? And more importantly, why promise to fix it and then take it back? Mistakes happen -- I understand that. But the lack of accountability and the back-and-forth between staff made the experience even worse. This visit left a bad taste in my mouth (and not from the food). If customer service and honesty matter to you, this may not be the best location. read more

I popped in for a quick meal and while the service was good and the restaurant was clean that's the best I can say. I ordered the avocado chicken sandwich and brisket queso. I split the sandwich with my wife. It was a smaller sandwich than expected. The fries were not crisp and limp. The chips to the queso was very greasy and unappealing. Autumn was our server she started off very nice, does kinda seem like she has an attitude but other than that our burgers were brought out before our fries, the fires took an extra 4:10 it wouldn't be a problem if we were asked if we wanted our burgers before our fries but we weren't! Wow! I found this restaurant while searching "Facebook" for restaurants in my area. Wow is actually an understatement, the website featured photos of the many plates the Cotton Patch offers on their menu. The phots is what made my friend interested in giving Cotton Patch a try for lunch today. Upon our arrival we were greeted at the door and quickly seated. A waiter (Noha) was quick to provide menus and ask for our drink order. Noah returned with our drinks and we placed our orders I had the Friday special that was Tilapia served as "Blackened" seasoned rice and a side of garlic soft warm rolls were included and mashed potatoes, I requested that my order NOT be "Blackened but lightly pan seared to a "Golden" brown, my friend ordered the "Chicken Fried Steak" with mashed potatoes grave and a side vegie. This is where the WOW came in. Both our plates were better than the photos. My fish was "PERFECT" my friends Chicken fried steak was also perfectly fried and tender. If you are in the area of the Preston Rd location, treat yourself and a friend to a great lunch or dinner. Great location lots of closer parking, friendly, fast service. Amazing service here at the Frisco location. Super busy on Sunday, but we had the best service by a wonderful man who was so attentive and spot on with his suggestions. He made the best twice baked potato I've ever seen, he may have dressed it himself- so tasty and beautiful! We went for the holiday fest- $12 for Turkey, dressing, two sides, gravy abd cranberry sauce- what a steal!!! Large portions and delicious! The turkey is so tender and juicy! The sides were delicious- I got the twice backed potato-worth another mention, DIVINE! Yummmy! Also, the broccoli casserole is always a fave- how can you go wrong with cheesy, luscious goodness? The rice, the cheese the broccoli spot on! Fabulous meal with incredible service. We also tried the pecan crunch dessert and the oooey gooooey butter cake! Out of this world ! Fabulous! Cotton Patch has been around for a very long time. It is where we go if we want just simple "home-type" food. I was in the area around 2 p.m. so decided to stop here. It wasn't busy, but there were several tables and 2-3 servers around. I was promptly seated, and my server was John. He was just matter-of-fact without a smile. Maybe he had a bad lunch period. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak - lunch portion with green beans and mashed potatoes. I declined the tableside bread. As usual, the food was good. Nothing fancy, but it hit the spot. They wanted me to give them the card information again over the phone. I refused to do that. That is insecure. Then, I am getting notices that my delivery is delayed, which in this case is unacceptable as I had pre-ordered it. This was a disaster, I ended up having to find something else for dinner. Let's start with the staff...very pleasant and kind. No complaints there. The place is quite large and very clean. We were a large group of 6, which included a couple of kids and the waiter was very patient with them. The food was fine, that's the only reason I'm rating a 3. I think I had higher expectations and it was good but I would say average. They also messed up one of our orders but they did fix it. We were waiting for a takeout order and was watching the kitchen put plastic bags of broccoli into microwave along with many other frozen vegetables, this place always said it was freshly made.The rolls were like bricks and unedible along with the chicken fried steaks that were all full of gristle. The restaurant was very clean, the host was very pleasant, the food was fresh, but I had to reminder our waitress that we had not received our drinks. My daughter got her drink finally after the food came. After 15+ minutes with my food almost done (came out quickly), I told someone to cancel my margarita and just bring me water at least (after I found my waitress standing around talking). I was never offered water. My issue is you could tell it was an inexperienced staff and no manager to be seen to ensure they were doing well and to check on the tables. Pretty good dinner at Cotton Patch the other night. First time here in 15-20 years. My wife and I both got the maple glazed chicken. She thought hers was fantastic. I thought it was fine. Sides were kind of small, but in the end, it was enough food. Bread was ok, but maybe could've been fresher. Not sure, maybe this is how the rolls are supposed to taste.
