I am never fond of writing a poor experience review, but if it is warranted, it's important! We went to the Cheddar's location near Nebraska Furniture Mart. It was quite busy, but we were still seated right away; that was nice! The server took our drink order right away, but kept repeating something different from what was said. My husband ordered, "I'll have a draft Modello," and the server said, "Budweiser?" - 3 times! We later learned that they don't have Modello on draft.... she should have told us. I ordered water with Lemon & no ice. She brought the Modello (in a bottle), water (full of ice), and no lemon. The sweet tea was not sweet, and it was very cloudy... When we mentioned it to the server, she argued that it WAS, in fact, sweet tea (it was not), but she brought out another glass that was also NOT sweet tea. We chose not to say anything; we thought, "Okay... this is not starting off very well." The croissants are always delicious, but having plates to put them on would have been nice. When we ordered, my husband asked for the Cheese bites appetizer before the meal (if you haven't had these, you're missing out!). Then we each placed our order. We had to ask for other items that we shouldn't have had to ask for. Our food was delivered by kitchen staff, and we realized that we never received the appetizer. So, when the server came by, we asked about it. She said, "Let me check." When she came back, she said, "... the kitchen was behind tonight; they are so behind on everything!" My husband asked for the Manager. When he (Kevin W) came over, my husband asked him to step over to another area so as not ruffle anyone. When my husband shared the experience (so far) with the Manager, he was not happy with what had been told to us... and said "...the kitchen is NOT behind at all, and that the server had put in the cheese bites order AFTER the food was made (like when we asked her about it). The Manager was very kind and apologetic, and said to ask for him if we needed anything. Our granddaughter had the Shrimp with fries and red beans-n-rice... she said the RB&R was terrible... no juice, no flavor, just a bunch of almost dry beans & rice. She barely ate her food! Our Chicken tenders were wonderful as always, but the Broccoli-cheese casserole was not good at all... it was pretty much Broccoli stems with cheese & a ton of bread crumbs on top! We were never offered refills for our beverages or beer, and everything took a long time, but the people who arrived long after us were served quickly. We left there so disappointed and frustrated that a place we LOVE allows such terrible service; as it's a big negative against the establishment, even if the food is normally great! When she brought us the check, the table was still full of dishes, so we asked her to please clear some of them. There's more to this, but isn't this enough? If ya made it this far (thanks). I went for dinner with friends last night and the service was lovely but the food was subpar. The staff, especially our waitress, were hospitable, attentive and efficient. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time but we were also busy talking comfortably, so time passed quickly. The honey butter croissants were warm, doughy, sweet little bundles of soul that whet our appetites and left us eagerly anticipating the rest of our meal. Unfortunately the subsequent food ranged from passable at best to nearly inedible. Wisconsin cheese bites - texture is perfect! The crisp is good and the cheese is not too dense (I don't think they're curds, just cheese). However, they were too salty and pushed the limit of my partner's heavy salt tolerance. Broccoli cheese casserole - boring but not inedible. I'd get corn or green beans over this. Red beans and rice - I was so excited for this but it was bland and indelibly salty. Country fried chicken - huge, amazing portion but saltiness was off the charts. I thought about removing the bread and washing my chicken in water but my appetite was lost. I spent the rest of the dinner yearning for the honey butter croissants. This location has potential - the textures ranged from reasonable to excellent and the waitstaff is lovely. If they can reduce salt and add more spices (paprika, garlic, etc. - southern spices), there is an opportunity to improve. read more

After this being my first time going to a cheddars, I think I will not go back. It's like a worse Texas Roadhouse where everything is around the same pricing, but the quality of the food is less. Cheddars gives you free croissants which end up being the best thing they provide. The country fried steak was overly salty and lacking anything else in the department of flavor. Trying to drown it in the gravy will also leave u sad as its consistency and flavor is lacking. If you order a medium rare steak, you might get rare like we did. And if you order one of their mixed drinks, it might need mixing because the syrup was all on the bottom and the alcohol was in a pool at the top (not for some viewing pleasure). On top of that, the server kinda just disappears and doesn't do the normal check in. One good thing is that the device on the table lets u "call server" but that just turns it red so you still need to hope your server walks by to see it . read more

The only flaw with this experience was that I ordered the smaller else and I will serve the lord you're out which I notified them right away and they were fine with it. went to collect the check they charge me for the larger portion which I did not order and I notified them at the time of delivery prior to me even touching a plate, but Management I corrected which is excellent, and the attentiveness was a bit scarce. it was a times where I needed something to drink, and I had to wait a bit, but everyone was very kind and very friendly read more

Made a trip to NFM and decided to pop in for lunch. I had a fantastic and perfectly cooked Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes and Southern Green Beans. So good! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I don't understand the low ratings but I had a great experience. read more

My girls and I had a wonderful experience at Cheddar's. We went during lunch on a weekday and it was unusually vacant. The Kids' Meals were plentiful to where we had to take half of them home. They offered flavored lemonade so my kiddos were excited about that. I had some kind of grilled fish and thought it was pretty good. The Buttered Croissants aren't as good as they used to be. I'm not sure why we had two servers as neither introduced themselves as training, but it was nice to receive extra attention. One of the servers, not ours, was super nice as she offered to escorts my girls to the restroom to watch out for them. Thank you for your offer and attentive eye. read more

I was craving a piece of pie. This restaurant was the closest to our hotel. I ordered online for pickup and that was seamless. The issue was the food itself. It is a fried pie. This one was fried in the onion ring grease. It was disgusting. I found a piece of a burnt onion ring attached to the pie. I am not sure the ice cream is real ice cream or a dessert substitute at this point. Money completely wasted. I haven't had Cheddars for a while and I won't try them again. I love going to Cheddars for good, home-cooked, meals. The menu has a something for everyone, kids to seniors. I always get a salad, which are huge, and sneak pieces of my husband's chicken fried steak. This last time there was a little uh-oh when the appetizer took a long time to come out, and 5 mins later our food appeared. If I'm being honest, the spinach artichoke dip was missing the artichoke part. It was seriously lacking in all parts, and if I didn't love that dip I would never try it again. This time I opted for baked potato soup, and it was also less than. Must have been the bottom of the pot. It was overly thick, and only slightly warm. Did I complain or say anything to the kid waiter, no. I didn't. Once we were served he zoomed around and there was little opportunity. I had some very high hopes for my experience at Cheddar's. Back when I first moved to the Dallas metroplex. It was a great place to go. Lots of food. Lots of great service. This isn't an amazing location where all of the businesses are full or busy. Our friend wanted to have ribs and I will say that the ribs were very tasty there. They got us right to our table. It was Friday at about 6:00 and I was kind of surprised it wasn't a waiting line. The bar was beautiful. All the stone work was amazing. It was clean I ordered the key lime chicken. Wasn't happy with it at all. Couldn't even taste anything that was noting key lime. If it's the first word in your title hinge on it. The chicken fried chicken was great. The water really tasted off. I don't think that they've changed out the water filters in a while. Were done a proper cleaning cycle for all of their ice. Something off.. We could tell that they were starting to get even busier as it approached 7:00 and our server who was initially very attentive became more and more occupied. For some reason his station was on the other side of the building so going back and forth was very time consuming. We tried to use the checkout at the table and the battery died. Also, when we finally got the paper bill about 5 minutes later there was things on it that we didn't order After waiting for 20 minutes to be able to leave I just paid it and We wanted a to-go container and I had to go to the bar to get one. We were promptly seated and our waitress was attentive the whole time and she was busy. It looked like she was the only server on our side of the restaurant. My mom, sister, and I dined in on a Thursday night. I ordered their sirloin with a baked potato and a salad. The sirloin was rubbery and chewy, the potato was luke warm, and the salad saved the meal. We also order queso dip but again it wasn't hot. In the future I'll come for the croissants but will eat elsewhere for the meal. The customer service was great which is worth the 2 stars. read more

On Sunday 01/12/25, Myself, my wife and our 6 years twins went there for lunch. We set, and waited for good 30 minutes. Not single waiter came to the table. I tried to stop a waiter as she was walking by our table, and before I said anything, she said "this is not my table". We got up and left. On the way out, I saw exactly 7 employees standing by the kitchen door. I told the two people at the door that no one came to our table . He just looked confused and didn't know what to say. We left!!! After we left, my wife told me I'm glad we didn't eat at this restaurant, I asked her why, she said that the restroom is gross and filthy which means the kitchen is in the same conditions. This restaurant needs to be shut down to: do heavy duty cleaning because it needs it, take care all the repairs because too many broken/damaged things, and hire new staff. The undercooked chicken tenders at the Colony Chedder's made me sick. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad on Dec 4 at 2pm, which I love at Chedder's. One of the chicken tenders was not as firm as they usually are, but I thought Chedder's is a good restaurant and would not serve undercooked chicken. I was wrong. It made me nauseous. I had to cancel holiday plans and go straight to bed sick. I won't be going back to that location. Just be careful eating out and if chicken seems a little off, don't eat it. read more

We were in The Colony and looking for a place to have late lunch and happened to see Cheddars, so we went. First of all, we've always liked Cheddars, bc for me, I like their flavored tea. When we arrived here, it wasn't busy, bc it was after lunch time. The hostess was very nice and friendly. We ordered unsweetened peach ice tea and strawberry lemonade(it was good, I tried it). I wasn't that hungry, bc my partner had got me breakfast tacos at Taco Delight(that's another good place to eat!)and I was still full from them. I decided on chips, salsa and queso(We liked it so much, we ordered another one!). My partner was very hungry, so he got fried cheese curds(delicious!)and chicken tenders with 2 sides(He said they were ok). We were very thirsty, so we downed the drinks very fast, but our server wasn't very attentive, so we had to flag her down to get more drinks. We were like in the Twighlight Zone, bc they weren't busy, but it was so hard to get our server's attention. She seemed nice, but she wasn't attentive to us. I'm not a psychologist, but I can read people well. I know when people are hustling for a living, but I felt that she was not one of those people. For that reason, I give this place 3 stars. The bartender who brought my partner's food was very nice and helpful when the payment machine ran out of paper, he replaced the paper. I tip generously when servers do a good job, but unfortunately, I only left 16% for this visit, bc that's what I leave when service is not good. Before dining here, I checked the reviews on Yelp, for this location and was a little surprised, but since we were in the area, decided to give it a try. Right away, it started out bad when as I was giving my order to the waiter, and I realized he wasn't listening and was actually looking and speaking to someone nearby. My daughter had ordered first and he looked directly at me and said, "And you Sir?" At this point I should have had his undivided attention. Without pause I started ordering. As I was ordering, I was looking at the menu to make sure I was ordering the correct items. After ordering, I looked up at him and he was looking off to, and speaking to someone behind me. He hadn't heard a word I said! This was very awkward as this has never happened before at any restaurant. I thought it was rude. So I started over and ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with a Salad, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and asked for "Plenty" of Gravy on the Steak and Potatoes. Chicken fried steak was pretty good, the potatoes were cold and looked like they had been sitting out for a few hours or were leftovers from yesterday and had spent the night in the fridge. Gravy was barely enough and not "Plenty" as I had requested. Salad wasn't as fresh as what you normally get at a restaurant. I had to ask twice for lemon for my tea as he forgot the first time. I ordered a "Spasagna" to go for my wife, and asked for "Extra" marinara sauce. My daughter had ordered this dish in the past and loved it! She told me that I wouldn't have to order extra sauce as it came with plenty. Knowing my wife, I ordered "Extra" Marinara Sauce anyway. Well, I should have checked the order for extra sauce before I left. The dish couldn't have had at best, two tablespoons of Marinara sauce on it. My wife wasn't happy at all. Without sauce it basically has no taste. It's in the fridge right now and we'll probably get some Marinara sauce from Kroger to add to it to make it edible. I don't think it's too much to ask for waitstaff to LISTEN to their customers! If you can't listen, maybe you need to be in another type of work. We've been frequent guests at Cheddar's and have always enjoyed the experience, but unfortunately, this recent visit left us disappointed on multiple fronts. First, we ordered the watermelon margarita swirl. After about 15 minutes with no sign of the drink, our waitress came by to let us know she was still waiting on the bartender and wasn't sure why it hadn't been made yet. Another 10-15 minutes passed before she finally brought the drink over, apologizing and explaining that she ended up making it herself behind the bar. While we truly appreciate her effort, the drink didn't look or taste right--no watermelon slice garnish, and overall not what we were expecting. It's hard not to think that if the bartender (who was behind the bar the whole time) had made it, it would have been done properly. Our second issue was with the monster cookie dessert, which we've always loved and order every time. This time, it came out in less than five minutes--much faster than usual, and not in line with the "baked to order" description on the menu. The cookie had a freezer burn taste, was barely warm, had overly crisp edges, and the skillet itself was cold. We let our waitress know, and she kindly brought out another one--again in under five minutes. Unfortunately, it was the same story. Definitely not baked to order, and not edible due to the off flavor and texture. We didn't want to keep going back and forth--we'd already paid using the tabletop machine--so we just left without eating the dessert. We don't blame our waitress--she was kind and tried to make things right--but overall this visit felt rushed and careless. If this is the new standard for drinks and desserts at Cheddar's, we may have to rethink our usual visits. read more

I was craving a Benigan's Monte Cristo for a while, but since they're all gone, I googled, and Cheddars came up. Gotta say, Cheddar's version is pretty darn close to the OG I remembered. Went to try the new beer batter Buffalo shrimp appetizer! Haven't had cheddars in a while and I love shrimp so I figured this would be a good foodventure. The croissants were extra fresh this trip and were absolute perfection! Flakey buttery goodness!! The beer battered Buffalo shrimp was good but not as crispy as I would like and the breading was not sticking the best. The flavor is there but the execution good use a lil tweaking. I got the blackened salmon and added bourbon sauce as well! It was delicious but the salmon is always delicious here! I also got the painkiller drink for the first time as I realized I never tried it. It was delicious and I'm not a huge coconut fan! One star was Way too many stars in my specific opinion. I spent upward of 70+dollars and my food taste as is he salted it with half the container of salt individually. Additionally,, my partner and I ordered 2 top shel margaritas(per the bartenders request) and the it was so much purée in his drink we had to send it back. We both are extremely dark skin and from the vibe of the restaurant it seemed on purpose. To each us own but as a melanated man I will not return on purpose. 0 stars for me. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and available when needed. We had a party of 3 and were able to get seated on a Sunday evening in around 10 minutes. The food quality was actually really good. One entree did come out missing the bread. Which was weird given two of us got the same thing and one had it plated correctly, the other didnt. However the waiter quickly grabbed the toast. I had the country fried chicken and can say it was one of the best I have had in the area. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not overdone at all which is common with this dish at other places. Pretty much cleared the plate. The only downside was the restaurant floor looked like a ton of kids came through and tore the place up. This wasn't just in our area which was the bar area but it was also near the entrance and other tables you could see in the main dining area. Food and trash on the floor at a LOT of tables. No one wants that on the bottom of their shoes. And this was not cleaned anywhere for the entire time we were there. read more

I think I need to have a snack before eating dinner so I'm not so hungry . We had a great dinner. Everything tasted great. I had the Ribs and chicken tenders with fries and broccoli casserole. Wife had the chicken pot pie, kids had the pasta alfredo. Everyone liked their food. My ribs were good. Meat fell off the bone easily. I was able to pull the bones out with no struggle. The chicken tenders are a good size. This same plate at TexasRoadHouse is not the same. The ribs are good but their tenders are like nuggets. Doesn't compare to Cheddar's. Brittney did a great job as our waitress knowledgeable and awesome. We had a great family dinner night on this Memorial Day. Came here on a Sunday to eat with my sister and my son who is 17 months. Service took foreverrrrrrr, food was cold and had to send my baked potato back bc it tasted sour. The food was cold and unappealing - we didn't finish it for fear of getting food poisoning. They never gave us side plates for our appetizers and we had to wait 45 minutes for a glass of water (they were not busy).
