Started with a Rail District cocktail that was really good. Finished with a Last Word which had a strong licorice flavor (not my fav) but the cherry at the bottom was great! We split the SPREADABLE WHIPPED LEMON BASIL GOAT CHEESE. Loved this. But note to the Chef or food prep - the toast crackers had so many holes in the bread, there was NO surface for the spreadable. Pieces of toast were basically outer crust and the inner area of bread had 90% giant holes. It was comical. Whoever plated this should have been more selective. My wife had the Salmon and I had the steak. The steak had a large pad of delicious blue cheese and butter on top of it, that slowly melted over the steak and potatoes. That was special. Endive salad was pretty dry, very little dressing. So I mixed it in with the potatoes and cheese/butter.

We had the chance to meet the owner, Amy, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming--it's always a good sign when the owner is that engaged. Our server was also fantastic--very attentive, kind, and made sure we were well taken care of the whole time. Location-wise, it's just off Main Street, kind of tucked away to the side, which makes it feel like a hidden gem. There's a great view, plus both indoor and outdoor seating, and the water tower right there adds a really charming touch. The ambiance on a Saturday night is great with live music! My husband and I sat at the bar and the manager was trying to make some space for us as there weren't two open chairs next to each other. Luckily a very nice couple moved over so that my husband and I could sit next to each other. I ordered the BLACK WALL STREET which has all the flavors I enjoy and it was the perfect old fashioned. My husband had the SMOKED CHERRY which they infused the smoke in front of you and the flavors married together very well. We ordered cornbread but then it was taking a while. The humidor was also rather small, and several of the cigars were pricier than I've seen. Where this place takes the cake is the ambiance, service and whiskey selection. My hostess, Mary, was extremely attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and beverages. And regarding the whiskey - their selection was massive. Mary recommended a Texas bourban (Unbendt BiB) that was delicious. It was so good that I brought a bottle back to Chicago. Highly recommend this place for a cigar smoker looking for a good meal + cigar in a quiet/intimate environment.

I come here for the ambiance. That said, the outdoor area is fabulous. I love the views and sitting by the fire pits on a chilly night. However, in the summer, spring and fall, when it is hot outside, I do not understand why the fire pits are on! No one wants to sit by a fire when it's 80+ degrees. I'm sure it looks cozy and nice from the hotel rooms, but it is not practical. Last weekend a few of my friends met there and we sat outside. We saw 6 mice running around very close to us. I understand this place is in what used to be a field, but at a 5-star hotel, I expect better rodent control. A qualified, experienced exterminator could handle this. I am happy that the Omni is so close to my home. Living in Prosper, I am grateful that we finally have a classy place to go.
