My first ever Jake's experience! I know it's a chain but I wanted to see what the hype was about. I went here around brunch hours so I got a Hangover Burger with tots and a chocolate shake. The burger was good, juicy, flavorful, and everything you need in a burger. The tots weren't the best I've ever had but certainly does the job. And the chocolate shake hit the spot. My server was very kind and I was impressed with how quickly my food came out even though it wasn't all that busy. But it's located perfectly and I bet this place gets popping for an FC Dallas game. Today I give Jake's a 5-stars. First this is my second favorite Burger Joint. So there will always continue to get my business but the bartender served us and I really wanted a good Bloody Mary after a very long week and after 2 hours sitting out on the soccer field in the freezing cold. She never came back and when another server took over he just said they couldn't find her. Well on our way to our car we found her out back smoking and on her phone. Disclaimer: I wasn't hungry when we ate here and my level of hunger definitely influences my perception of my dining experience. The food portions were large but I'm not sure how I feel about an $11-$13 burger and then $4+ fries. Kinda feel like they could toss in the fries or make them less expensive. My son and husband devoured their very large burgers and said how good they were, didn't even notice the fries (which I thought were really good despite my previous comment: hand cut, nicely seasoned, good mix of crunchy and not). I had chicken quesadillas with hatch green chiles because I thought it would be lighter and I love green chiles. Still could only eat half. I don't usually eat quesadillas, but I thought they were really good. The fried pickles appetizer is a definite redo. I'd skip the queso and chips next time. Service was great and quick. We sat outside because the weather was nice and the music was loud for my mood. Outside seating area is nice but lots of loud traffic. Overall, good place to stop in. I wouldn't add it to my travel itinerary or anything, but if in the mood for a burger or some fried pickles, I'd go back! read more

Quite literally the dirtiest restaurant in Frisco. I doubt the dining room floor has ever been mopped and it's probably a good day if it sees a broom. The whole place has a mildew, table rag smell. My personal rule is that if management doesn't care how the front of the house looks, that says a lot about kitchen conditions. (And for management reading this- take a look at the floor under the bar seats, under empty tables, the hallway to the bathrooms- and the bathroom themselves.) Food was meh. Long wait for appetizers and meals (restaurant was pretty empty so that was a little confusing) Fried pickles were ok. Mozzarella sticks were barely warm and the breading was pale and undercooked. The kids burgers were 90% bun, 10% thin burger patty- which meant they had barely any flavor. Chicken tenders were pretty dry, not much flavor there either, fries were kindve cold. The side of mac n cheese was actually really good- piping hot, actual cheese, 5 stars. Fish sandwich was decent. All in all, I won't be going back to this location. There are a lot of good restaurants in Frisco and I really hope this Jake's location gets it together. If you're in Grapevine or Addison, I'd give those locations a shot- better experiences there. read more

Very disappointing experience. I asked if I could order a kids meal as an adult & was told "oh yeah no problem ". Then I was charged an extra $4 for getting a kids meal. So I paid more for less food. Jakes comes up when you search DOG FRIENDLY. It is NOT dog friendly. It used to be but they do not allow dogs anymore. Bummer. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend the burger bowl for a lighter option. We love Jakes and have been going for years. We originally went to the Uptown location but now live in Frisco and enjoy this location equally. Casual ambiance and easy to get a table because there is lots of seating. Every time I visit, the customer service is terrible. There are usually only 5-10 people eating here, but 8 employees running around. You'd think with that ratio the service would be great- wrong. Employees on stick their section and that's it. Every time I order online I wait at the bar for what seems like forever to get my order. The bartender is usually on the far end just staring into the void. I'm 6'7" and they can't see me standing there waiting for them. The hostess stand will see me, but not help. Multiple employees will walk past and say nothing. To be fair they're on their way to hangout between the bar and kitchen, I wouldn't want to inconvenience them with my order. Every conversation with a server or hostess is super awkward. Don't waste your time here. There are 4 burger places in the area that do the exact same thing with marginally better service. read more

Went to Jake's in Frisco Texas yesterday and it did not disappoint. I love the Jake's burger. It has been a favorite for years. I love the restaurant too. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. And it was about 4 in the afternoon when I was in there so it was peaceful at that time. I had a wonderful experience and fantastic food. Went to Jake's on a Saturday around 2pm. Place was mostly empty they sat us in a spot where the bartender was our server. The food was outstanding, as usual. Burgers/fries/tots - all excellent. Best burgers anywhere nearby our house in Frisco. The server was awful. After the food came, he never came by again. There was one couple at the bar, who had his 100% attention. I had to go to the bar to pay our bill so we could leave once we were done with our meal. I can see the bartender being too busy to come by if the bar was even half full. But 2 people - come on. If he can't handle it, sit us in a spot with a normal server. read more

I was taken here as a group (departmental) lunch and it was my first time to Jakes. I ordered a turkey burger with mushrooms (extra) and a side of fries (crispy). When my lunch arrived I lifted off the top half of the bun to double check it (sop for me) and I could not believe what I saw. There were three (yes three) thin slices of mushrooms wh-wh-wh-wh-what three thin slices. As for the turkey burger it was tasteless and a little mushy to the touch. I will say the fries were mostly crispy and were the fries were OK. I am being a little generous with the stars because the waiter was nice guy. I heard this was supposed to be a really good place....evidently NOT. This is going to be a FTLT place (first time last time). read more

Well, first of all, I like Jakes. Used to go there all the time. Haven't been in quite some time, so took a trip back a couple of days ago. Service was good, the bartender was good (Candido was his name), but here's the reason for the 2 star review. On the special menu there was the Sloppy Jake. I've had it before; a hickory smoke flavored sloppy Joe on a bun. So my brother in law and I ordered one, as it was a favorite from before. When it came out it was completely wrong! It was a cooked hamburger patty that was cut up into large chunks, a little sauce, with lettuce and pickles! So I asked the bartender if this was their new creation, of course he said no! When he got the manager, I was told that since they don't do a lot of them, this was their solution. Not to have ground beef, but to try and pass this off as a sloppy Joe! I mean, are we idiots? Anyway, I said I'd eat it, didn't want to waste food. Manager offered free dessert, but no thanks. The biggest complaint was that they even tried to pass off what they served as a sloppy Jake! Pretty lame. Just tell me you don't have it, and I'll order something you do have. Bartender (Candido), was nice enough to comp one of our beers. But it'll be a while before we come back. read more

A group of us from work came here for lunch and we enjoyed every minute we were here. The service is fast and good. Outdoor patio seating is so relaxing and nice. The burgers were DELICIOUS!!! The sweet potato fries with marshmallow sauce is a must try. If you are ever in Frisco Square, swing by for some yummy eats. read more

We were looking for a restaurant central to our family, to celebrate my husband's birthday, and chose Jakes. They assigned our group of 17 to the back room and it was perfect! The kids were enthralled by the arcade, which was right off the back room. They had us set up at a high-top, but one of our guests is in a wheelchair, so they quickly allowed us to adjust tables without skipping a beat. The service by Joe and Karen was very attentive, and the food was great! I highly recommend this restaurant for large groups. read more
