Honestly did not have a great experience, solely because of the manager. Waitress was also flirting with one of the guys at the table, said she didn't need to scan his ID because she "trusted him" and then proceeded to come back to the table & say no drinks could be served to our table. 10/06/2024 manager was Angelina M.

Great food and great service! We ordered the skillet cornbread, chicken fried steak with garlic mash potatoes and broccoli and rice casserole as well as fish and shrimp combo with squash and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious - southern comfort food for certain!

Had a great meal tonight in Cleburne at the Cotton Patch Cafe. The chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with green beans were awesome. Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. The side salad with honey mustard dressing was fresh and served on time, 5 minutes before my meal was served. The service was spot on tonight and the restaurant was busy. The restaurant has tables or booths and the dining area and tables were very clean. If your looking for a great home style meal, the Cotton Patch Cafe is a good restaurant to try. If you are an ice tea snob like me, you will enjoy the fresh ice tea that is strong and not watered down. Just another bonus from the Cotton Patch Cafe.

For your information. The portion sizes are changing to the meals here. 1 pork chop has now become 2. Paper thin chops and smaller veggie portions too. A Cobb salad with chicken, which my wife said wasn't good chicken. Pork chops, 2 teas, Texas size fried mushrooms for a low price of 47 bucks. With tip 58$. Not worth the money to eat out anymore, at least not here. The waiter was very good and knowledgeable.

The establishment was Rail Road Theme with a train running the rail all around the ceiling of diner. I thought it was cool even at my age. I had the small chicken fried steak with salad and mashpotatoes. I ate it before I realized "NO PHOTOS" Were Taken. So sorry. But it was very tasty ! The ambiance was peaceful, the establishment was clean and everyone was attentive. The price for 3 people to eat was LOW !! Which pleased us. Check them out next time your in Cleburne or just looking for a good place to dine. They have been around since 1920.. that says alot ! Check them out, do a review so I can hear your comments. oh-emm-gee.. this wasn't just bad.. this was like, "we're going to talk about this for years to…read morecome"-awful.. my wife's food was unidentifiable as being the dish she ordered, the owner or manager or whatever came over to argue with her about it when she sent it back. Then he told us it was the waitress's fault. My meal was only just terrible, but i could identify kind of what it was supposed to be, and i could clearly recognize the french fries. A couple at another table had chicken and waffles with way undercooked chicken.. Too bad, i wanted to like this place. I really like old school mom & pop diners a lot more than just another chain, and this place has the vibe i was after. I just should have brought food from somewhere else.

Service: great service super nice staff. Can't beat that!! Ambiance: this is a small space so seating is limited. The…read moreowner wasn't there at first, and a woman who was helping run things greeted us and took our order. She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve.
