HOW DID THEY GET ME TO CONVERT FROM CAFÉ RIO?!!? Oh I know - finally Fresh Mexican place does grilled chicken the way it SHOULD be. Plus, Costa Vida has got the edge on being generous with toppings. Who knew the mango salsa mix with their salad dressing could actually beat Cafe Rio cilantro lime?! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've changed religions permanently. I'm now a believer of Costa Vida. I've gone back and forth for the last half a dozen visits, and Cafe Rio has let me down every time. No "points promotion" on their part can make up for the lack of quality in the food. Costa Vida will now get all my business from family and friends. read more

My experience here was perfect! I love Costa Vida but the one in Lehi always screws up my order and the portions our tiny. I came here hoping not to have same experience as the Lehi one. The drive through was quick and fast and they got the order correct and the portions were generous. I also order tres leaches for the first time and it was so good! I must get it everytime! The staff was fast and super friendly! Put everything I needed in the bag and made a great lunch. Will be back to this location many times in the future. read more

This review pertains to ALL Costa Vida locations. I think Costa Vida is generally great. BUT, they tell people they have gluten friendly corn tortillas. They use the same grill to cook them and wipe it down with the same cloth covered with flour!!! What?! To get anything remotely gluten free just get a salad with no tortilla. I don't know why they can't get a stack of gluten free tortillas when I can get a huge stack for $2 at the grocery store. IT IS SUPER FRUSTRATING that they don't take Gluten Free more seriously. read more

Stingy on the portions, especially meat. They put just a little bit on in the first place and then start pulling some back off of it. Depressing. The dressing seems to have been watered down, but the dressing containers are still the same size. But the food is good, what they give of it. And I like the watermelon juice and other non-soda options. read more

Very courteous staff. They gave me lots of pork on my burrito. I think I like the mild sauce here more than Cafe Rio and I like that I don't feel like I'm entering a cage match unlike Rio. Plenty of clean tables to choose from. Also the key lime pie was yummy. No complaints. read more

Costa Vida is extremely accommodating to gluten allergies! I have a gluten intolerance and have a hard time going out to eat since it's hard to find restaurants that are totally safe for gluten allergies. When you let them know that you have a gluten allergy, they make an intentional effort to change gloves to stop cross contamination. They make me feel confident about having a gluten free dish and, of course, they make extremely delicious food! read more

This location is probably the best one I've been to. The tortillas are always fresh and soft. The service is friendly and quick. The sweet pork salad is my go to meal. I wish they would be a bit more generous with the lettuce though, they used to put so much on! read more

This location needs more attentive workers. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and they forgot the chicken. When I got home and realized that there was no chicken in it, I called the number to let them know. The woman on the phone was more concerned about me bringing back the old salad rather than making sure my meal was made correctly. "Bring the old salad back, make sure you bring the old salad back" I understand why I had to take it back because of people who are not honest and are looking for a free meal, but that sounded like first priority over the service and fixing a obvious mistake. I got to the restaurant and the worker was continually short with me and gave me an attitude as if she did not believe me. After the worker thoroughly tore apart my salad to make sure there was no chicken, I decided to cancel my order and I just went to a different location. read more

I LOVE Costa Vida! However this location is hit and miss. One time my husband and I ordered two pork salads through the drive through and came home with one chicken salad and one pork instead. I figured it was a one time mistake. So during my lunch I went again ordering through the drive through. My order was correct however the portion was cut in half! I didn't just spend $9.00 for half a salad did I? However every time I go inside everything is GREAT! So the lesson here is no matter how convenient the drive through seems, go inside. read more

I already get a little bitter when I come here because I know it's overpriced. Tonight after spending $28 for 3 meals (one of which was a special), I got nickel and dimed for a 20 oz dressing. 3 of the sodas were out. The ice was out. The worker that brought ice from the back scooped the excess back into the ice machine. He placed the top of the ice machine on the floor while he filled it up. We received the best service I've ever had since bringing kids to a restaurant. I have 5 kids and getting through a line and ordering can feel like quite the ordeal to all involved but they went above and beyond to help us have the best experience. Average at best. I ordered shrimp tacos and was charged extra for the premium protein. It turned out to be the miniature shrimp like what is used in a chip dip. It is the equivalent of ordering a hot dog and getting canned baby vienna sausages sprinkled in a bun. It looks weird and leaves me wondering why I paid a premium. Drive through costa is nice but is ruined by order innacuracy. I ordered a baja bowl with extra pico de gallo and a chips and salsa. I recieved a baja bowl with no extra pico, and a chips and salsa with no salsa but a big container of not so fresh pico i was really hoping for the fresca salsa. I love Costa Vida, but this was the first time I have been let down by them. I ordered and paid for double chicken and the chicken seemed like less than I get without ordering double at other locations. I ordered a kids meal and they forgot the drink and the treat. Their sweet pork salads are so so yummy! Really the sweet pork anything is delicious. They seem to give you a little more meat and beans than Cafe Rio and their food tastes so much better and more fresh in my opinion!! We always prefer Costa Vida! This one also has a drive through so it's extremely convenient for those days you don't want to get out of the car. I asked the size of the tacos I got with the corn shell, she showed me teeny tiny corn shells, even smaller than you get at the grocery store and said I get two teeny tacos for $9.00, That is highway robbery. You can get to teeny weeny tacos at Taco bell for $1.50 with lots of meat and cheese. Can figure how they call that a bargain. They cater solely to those you can eat their huge wheat tortillas, but dont discount for the smallness of those WHO need and want gluten free. First off, I love Costa Vida and they get a 5 star...but this American Fork location gets a one star for incompetence. Second time they have messed up my order while going through the the drive-thru.
