This location is ROUGH. Sometimes you get the meat you pay for, but MOST times, you don't. I addressed this at my last visit and was told I had to pay more to get even the most basic expected portion of meat. The salad is already a dollar more than the burritos... for less meat?! We had the American Fork location of Costa Vida cater my son's wedding luncheon at a local reception center. We had over 100 guests for the luncheon so full service was unquestionably the best way to go. John, the district catering manager, answered all my questions, gave me good options to choose from, and made great suggestions to help things run smoothly. He did great follow up between the time the order was placed and the day of the event. The catering team was flexible with some changes to the wedding day itinerary, even on the day of. John and Bronson, our other server, arrived on time and were quick to setup and begin serving. The food was great, as expected, and all 100+ people were served in good time. The guests commented that it was great to have non-traditional wedding food for a change. It made for a fun, more relaxed atmosphere for the lunch before things got formal again for the reception. John and Bronson cleaned everything up quickly so we could turn the room for the reception. They did not suck. So I recommend them for small and large group events in Northern Utah County. read more

This location has been slowly going downhill for a while now. They'll skimp on lettuce, pico, but most of all meat. You'll order extra meat and barely get the minimum amount. I went to pick up my doordash order that I originally had for delivery, and was just going to tell the dasher that I can pick it up. My order went through atleast 3 different dashers before i decided to do that. I waited for two hours. Someone working decided to tell me i had to pay for it again because he's made it twice now. Coming from someone who works in the food industry, he probably had to make it twice because yall don't know how to verify orders, therefore my order was stolen, hence it going thru different dashers. This is the second time I have been to this location and ordered a 4oz side of meat. The first time I came home my meat was burnt, I weighed it and it was only 2.5oz but they charged me for 4... Today when they gave me the same tiny cup I let them know that is not 4 oz of meat. They got all defensive holding up 4oz dressing cups telling me that I'm actually really getting the steak in a 6oz cup and that it is 100% 4oz. At one point another employee brought a scale and the manager refused to weigh it, walked off and they shut the window. They then grabbed my food handed it to me and ignored the whole situation. This location is absolutely horrible, customer service is worse and as far as I'm concerned if you're going to charge someone for 4 oz and then not give them what they're paying for then you're dishonest all together! Since moving to Utah from another state I've tried several Costa Vida locations. None of them were as good as what I would get from the Costa back at home. I gave this one a chance and it was a win!! My burrito was actually more filling than tortilla for once, and this was the first place where the pico de gallo didn't look weird and slightly rotted. If you're in Utah, you can't mention Costa Vida without someone comparing it to Cafe Rio. And on the surface, they *do* seem to be cut from the same cloth. They offer similar items, the exact price is determined by which filling (meat) you select, and the ordering process is identical. At first glance, Cafe Rio also seems to offer a little more menu variety than does Costa Vida. So why eat here instead of there? The number one reason: service. More than any other Costa Vida I have visited, the customer service here is stellar. The manager is typically "in the trenches" taking and making your order, and he is friendly to a fault. Always cheery, always ready to offer suggestions--including mixing ingredients in ways not shown on the menu--he can single-handedly make this dining experience a great one. The crew here is on point, working efficiently to get you through the line very quickly. Another reason to come here are the flavor differences. Costa Vida does things a little differently than the competition, and I like the result. For example, I *love* that they offer refried beans in addition to black and pinto--the "liquidy" consistency goes great inside a burrito. Oh, and the burrito smother is included in the basic price--such a deal! Overall, I think Costa Vida offers a solid meal at a great value. read more

The worst service i've ever had, their work station was messy and disorganized and it took them 15 minutes to take our order and we were the only ones in line, when we got to the cashier he threw our food onto the trays ( and I mean threw) he did not want to be there and I wish he wasn't. Costa Vida's drive thru has saved the day many, many times for me. It's so convenient! I like that Costa Vida has smaller sizes of their salads and they provide a little bit more variety than Cafe Rio-- if you're into that. I usually stick to my classic sweet pork salad but sometimes a kids meal is the perfect amount and a killer deal. The horchata is tasty and my beverage of choice here. they serve you as if they counting your calories, they use the regular serving spoon, but they really pour a tea spoon of rice! for that use a butter knife. the meat is also picked, four pieces, no more. the new thing was four sad string of lettuces and a few pieces of chop tomatoes for additional $3 dollars per plate. Food is good, but I've had a bad history with curbside pickup. Today I went earlier than usual and opted to walk in -- seems when they have time, they make the correct salads. Never realize before that mango chicken salad was supposed to come with mango salsa! When I saw no mango previously, I changed salads, but still got the mango salad for others. Was I surprised to find mango salsa! I thought they were BSing the name. At least now I'll know to ask if I don't get it. This is also the first time they gave us all the guac we ordered -- they have made several dollars on us by not giving us the right stuff. Giving a 3 because of the history, not today's service. This place is SKETCH!!!!! Watch carefully what they charge you for. I ordered a small salad and they barely gave me any lettuce, so I asked for more lettuce. At checkout the general manager sneakily charged me $1.00 for "extra" lettuce without saying anything to me. When I noticed, I then refused to pay the $1.00 for lettuce...which is the main ingredient of a salad btw. The manager responded that lettuce has gotten so expensive, so if I wanted "extra" lettuce on my salad, then I'd need to pay extra. If lettuce is SO expensive then they should consider increasing their prices, rather than trying to secretly charge me without my knowledge. I will NEVER go back there again. That experience was totally messed up, and I think the American Fork managers at Costa vida are crooks. Call me crazy but I actually like lettuce on my salads. read more

So I tried this for the first time today, I got a grilled chicken burrito and tried their various sauces picking their spiciest one for my burrito. The chicken burrito has a interesting flavor since their spicy sauce has a sweet taste to it and their chicken almost has a teriyaki chicken flavor to it like Waba Grill. Costa Vida is pretty American with it's flavors and isn't a authentic Mexican restaurant by any stretch but that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. It's not my favorite Mexican food here in Utah county but it's not bad or anything. Just very sweet and not spicy at all. read more
