Came here on a whim on Labor Day because it was the only nail salon I could find that was open and Vickie was a literal angel! You could tell she was getting ready to close up shop for the day but decided to take me anyways. She made me feel so comfortable, was so sweet, kept making sure that I was liking what she was doing, and totally took her time with me despite it being the end of the day. She really knew what she was doing and shaped my nails exactly how I wanted them. She made some great suggestions and made my experience more than pleasant!! I will be coming back to her for sure! Then we asked if they are able to do our nails. They said yes!!! My sister and I was so pleased with the hospitality and the great customer service . I've been going to this place for a decade! All of the ladies are friendly, sweet, and good at what they do! I always book my pedicures with Vicky cause she's the only technician who has ever been able to help me with my toe (I've been getting pedicures for 30 years!). My skin grows over my nail in the corner and she has the skill to remove it and alleviate the pain I have felt there my whole life. No other technician has been able to help me with that! I wanted to go glam for the holidays with eyelash extensions, the front desk told me the price is 100-120 depending. Once inside I was told it would be 135. I included a small tip for a beautiful job on lashes but truly don't appreciate being led to believe the price would probably be around 100 but payed 140$ for my first time especially when everybody now does extensions. Very disappointment. They are dishonest and can't be trusted. The first time I went to Cosmo, I went open minded. Wasn't really too concern with prices, just the quality. (I went into Cosmo with round nails and came out with almond which I didn't ask for) When I was ready to pay they explained all the charges. There was an extra $3 for reshaping. Why? I came in with round shape and the nail tech shaped them almond without my asking. The receptionist showed me the chart of the shapes( I'll post the chart) that they don't charge for. Square, round and oval no extra charge. Almond, coffin, and the stiletto they charge. Fine, I let it go because I figured it was my mistake for not making it clear. 3 weeks later, I went to Cosmo giving them a second chance. I explained to the nail tech that I came in three weeks ago with round and whoever did my nails shaped them almond. When it was time for me to pay there was the extra charge for reshaping. WHAT? Why? I asked to look at the chart and the receptionist said she doesn't know what I was talking about because she just started. Then she asked the nail tech, they ended up charging for the round shape. I felt lied to. And honestly, I don't ever what to go back. If I can I wouldn't give them any stars. Please be careful with the extra charges. read more

Went for my girlfriends birthday, thought I'd try out one of the more expensive packages they offer. Worst experience they were rushed the entire time, rubbed my shins with lotion and wrapped them in a towel then wiped it off. same thing for the scrub. I kept asking if they could fix my unevenly cut toes, and I didn't even notice till I left how blotchy and uneven the coats were. Half my skin on my pinky is still painted, and she was already prepping another guest before I was halfway done. Whole appointment was maybe 25 minutes. Don't waste your time. read more

Done with this place, I don't even know why I keep coming back. Their acrylic mani's are always crooked or they cut you but it lasts a long time and the price was decent, it's also conveniently located by my work so I kept returning. I come in for a gel pedi which has always been $30 and when I go to pay just now she says it's $42, when I bring up the price increase she laughs at me and says no honey we only raised it $2. Tfff. I work right next door to this salon so I've gone for pedicures and manicures on my lunch before. Today I walked in and they were up to helping me and seeing me. Then I told them I needed a gel acrylic fixed that broke. The girl helping asked if I got it done there and I told her no I got it somewhere else. She very rudely then told me they are busy and cannot help or see me. I will never be coming here again for turning away a client when there was other people sitting around available to help. Here they come, Mr. Handsome's family, and I had not met them before. That means we must be ready to impress, right? First: Clean, clean, clean. The house has to be in perfect shape. Result: Very clean house. Very grungy nails. Plus, now I have very little time to do anything about it. Cosmo Nail Bar was able to fit me in right away. When I walked in, I was offered a glass of wine and a seat. I could feel the tension melting away immediately. Most of the time, a mani and pedi aren't relaxing for me. They are more of a chore. Nail salons tend to be loud, full of people, and all hustle and bustle. I won't say that Cosmo Nail Bar was like a day spa, but it sure was a lot more relaxing than any other nail salon I have used. Both of the ladies who took care of me pulled clean tools from a drawer where they were hygienically sealed in a bag. One use only. I like that. I even had to initial each of the bags. Long story short: It has been a week since the family showed up. The house looked good. I looked good. A good impression was made. They have since gone home, but my nails still look good. All of my other nails are also lifting after about a week and a half when usually I can go three weeks before I need a fill. Also, when they were shaping my nails they cut my skin. I've been weary of trying this place because of some of the reviews posted here but I was pressed for time and if nothing else, even the negative comments mention the cleanliness of the place, so I decided to give it a shot. Let me say that I'm so glad I did. I'm a bit of a nail snob, I do not do my own and I expect to pay premium rates for a premium service so when I saw the rates, I was pleasantly surprised, not bad at all. At $45, a deluxe service with paraffin wax, scrub, callus remover, and a 15 minute massage is a great rate! They have a more basic service for a little less and a fancier one for a little more, but this was perfect for what I needed. I've read the comments about the receptionist but the young lady with glasses and long hair tended to me when I arrived and she was sweet and helpful and friendly. My nail technician was Mimi and she did a fantastic job. All of the treatments I got took time and she was efficient with hers but I never felt rushed. Now, I have horrible feet because I teach karate and never wear shoes so, to work on my feet, takes skill and they came out excellent! She was sweet and cared about her service, which is what I look for in a professional in personal care. Over all, I couldn't be happier with my feet, the location, the staff, and the service. I'm a business owner and I know how easy it is to taint a business with a nasty review but I would encourage the nail salon aficionado to give this place a shot. Officially switching nail salons today!! I used to go to JJ Nail in Placentia but after a couple of bad acrylic jobs I decided that it was time for a new salon. I came on a Tuesday afternoon so they weren't too busy. They were all very nice, the salon is very clean, and the prices weren't too unreasonable. $33 for an acrylic fill with gel. They also offered me an array of herbal teas, coffee, or water while I got my nails done. My only complaints would be that their color selection isn't too fantastic and that the girl knicked me with the nail file and didn't clean the blood up. But aside from that, it was an overall pleasant experience and I absolutely enrolled in their rewards program as I do intend on going back again! read more

The first time I got my nails done at this salon was for my wedding. I was a little apprehensive about trying a new place for the big day, but it actually turned out to be the best mani/pedi I'd ever gotten! My bridesmaids and I were all impressed with the quality of service. It's my new go to place now and my bridesmaids have all been back too! I'm not sure if it's the type of product they use or maybe the extra care they put in to the manicures, but I've never had a gel manicure last me so long. My wedding manicure actually lasted for a month! The quality of service has been very consistent each time I've been back, and I've yet to have had the same nail technician twice. Some of the things I like about this place that sets it apart from other nail salons: - Variety of services: I love that they have different levels of mani/pedis at different price points. If you're looking for something quick or are on a budget, they have an express mani/pedi and then they have two to three other levels depending on how much you feel like pampering yourself. They also have different fragrances for their scrubs and lotions that you get to choose from. The usual pink lotion that most other salons use always makes me break out in hives, but theirs doesn't! - Atmosphere: this place has such a great vibe. It's not the typical nail salon with tacky colored walls and the "knock you dead" with acetone smell. It's very hip and chic, extremely clean and there's little to no nail product smell. They even offer you beverages while you sit back and relax and watch fun music videos on the tv screen. - Rewards program: I think it's really nice when places offer discounts or incentives for being repeat customers. I discovered this place this past summer, and have been going here to get my nails done ever since! It is very clean and has girly, sophisticated décor. The employees are very friendly, and the nail technicians always do a great job on my nails. They have a large selection of polish & gel colors, as well. I love that they play music videos that you can watch while getting your service done, and they also offer you a beverage--such as water, tea or coffee. They take reservations, and they can also accommodate a larger party if you let them know ahead of time. I took all my bridesmaids here to get our nails done before my wedding day. Additionally, they have a loyalty program that you can sign-up for which is great! After you receive so many points, you get rewards such as $5 off you next visit, etc. I don't know of any other nail salon that does this. I was a walk-in and this was my first time visiting this nail salon. I was in desperate need of a dipping powder mani and since i was in the area i took a chance stopping in. I explained to the mani lady Jennifer the shortness i needed and why and then let her do her thing. Not only did Jennifer give me the most perfect dipping powder nails i had ever had she also asked me what top coat i preferred and then suggested adding paraffin since my hands were so dry. I love coming here because they do such good work! By far the cleanest nail salon I've been too. I'm extremely picky about sanitation but i feel completely at ease here. Their pedicure chairs are pipeless jets and they never reuse anything twice. The tools are sterilized and kept in new pouches for each client. The staff including the gal up front are really nice and pricing is fair for what you get. My gels last for weeks and they have so many colors! Also serve complimentary drinks! I was hesitant to try them at first because I was scared of trying a new place but so glad i did. I would recommend this place to anyone. I did not find them on yelp because I feel especially with nail salons there are always mix reviews so you just have to experience it for yourself. That's why i feel they deserve 5 stars! I have been coming here for months and have been a loyal customer. After reading their reviews, you can tell that they have very little concerns with customer loyalty. I have been bringing my own nail art stickers and been requesting the same service almost every time and LITERALLY every time there is always an issue with pricing. My first two times coming it was free because it was my own materials, the next time they said it was a full $5. I argued and mentioned that I wasn't charged at all before. The nail artist said, are you sure you got it here? I showed her my receipts as proof and then they mentioned that they have to charge for labor. They changed it to $3 for two nails since I had my own materials. I didn't say anything because I understood. Sure! Of course they should be paid for the labor. Then the next time, I call to make an appointment and confirm that I would only be charged $3 for my nail art for two nails. Receptionist said I would be charged $3 for one nail, and the full $5 for two nails. Absolutely ridiculous. The charges are never the same and very inconsistent. They have very little concern for loyalty and only want profit. You would think, that with me coming on a monthly basis with the same service that they would create a final price. Due to the lack of consideration, I am not coming back. I highly recommend going to Polished Perfect in the La Floresta Plaza in Brea. The place is very clean and the associates are very professional. They also give 10% when you check in on Yelp, unlike Cosmo Nails that have a "Loyalty Program" of $5 off after spending $250 from your total visits. Not worth it. Go to Polished Perfect! read more
