I had such a great experience at La Brea Nails. The ladies there are sweethearts. I got the Cat Eye gel manicure and Milk Honey pedicure package. The mimosas, massages and aroma therapy made it truly feel like a spa experience. If you want to treat yourself with a relaxing time while getting your nails done, I'd recommend you give this place a try. I'm satisfied with both the level of care and detail they provided me.

I was a walk in and they served me so well! I went in for a manicure and I left getting a stellar manicure but also used their waxing services. Everyone was so nice, the shop was so clean. They have tons of color options and offered me a complimentary drink, I was there in the morning so I chose a Vietnamese coffee and it was so good! I will definitely be back

I found this place a month ago by chance as my usual nail salon had been over booked. At LA brea nails, I was greeted by the owner and his staff, luck would have it I was seated with the new owner Jimmi. He immediately began the process and took time with his work on my acrylics. They have a large variety of shades, gels, powders and additional services to be added if needed. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the owner made me feel pampered with his patience and attention to detail. I will never go back to my old tech as I had started to feel their work was getting sloppy as time went I just didn't feel like an important or special customer but a job. This salon treats every customer special regardless of money spent or services. Best quality care and service hands down. This place is the best! Worst cat-eye nails ever. I usually go to a different nail salon, but I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the technician didn't seem to know how to do cat-eye nails, and they turned out really bad. On top of that, they started peeling within a week... honestly, maybe that's for the better. read more

Amazing service this is my third time coming to them and they always give me what I want. Especially design wise, it's hard finding a place that can create a similar design. My dad and I have been going to La Brea Nails together since he came to stay with us several years ago. They are great at fitting us in within a reasonable time when we walk in, which is a big deal for me because of my dad. Jimmie and the crew are very kind and do a great job. Jimmy what happened to your smile & customer service & skill? My daughter & I are so disappointed. The stripe on my ring finger should have been vertical which is what I wanted but you didn't ask you just painted. And the shape of my nails look terrible nothing like the way you did them before. As for my daughter she is just too disappointed nothing like the pic she showed you. Sigh oh well need a new nail place. read more

I didn't get to take pictures, but I will be going back soon to do my nails and a pedicure and will make sure to take as many. I had an appointment for a fill last week When I arrived he started my nails but He was in a big hurry and he kept rushing Me about what color and was being rude. He gave me the impression that he was just thinking about his next customer and money hungry. He did a very bad job on my nails. I was taken care of soon as I walked in. I got lucky, they worked on my nails and pedicure at the same time. Very helpful in saving time. My nails came with an arm/ hand massage. My pedicure came with a 5 min foot massage, nothing fancy just a basic massage. Decent work, just excess polish could've been cleaned up around the nails. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's conveniently close and had good Yelp reviews. However the gal that did my toes was so rough that she actually scraped skin off my big toe that made it bleed and when I told her it hurt, she didn't say anything and just continued with the pedicure. I had to get a full set because my acrylics were old. My technician was sloppy w shaping and took over an hour which I think is unusual from what I'm used to. I pointed out my bleeding toe to the person in charge and he did not have any comment. I do not plan to return to this business. read more

Truly amazing! From the royal pedicures, with sweet sugar scrub, hot stone and towel massages, to the shiny manicures with great massages, even a pink pedicure chair for the littles, Jimmy provides a wonderful environment , great chairs, soft music, refreshments, and laughs... my family comes here for all the events and they truly make it a wonderful experience... after being unhappy for some time, this is truly the place to come pamper yourself. Lol even if they tell me to come back and re do my whole experience I would not come back. This star review will remain the same. They're very judgmental. They laugh when I told them what I wanted. I just asked something simple and I have long nail beds. He looked at me like I was asking something so strange. My nails were bulky and a weird shape. The foot mask was so thin lol I cant. The people who come here are like people in their 50-60s. Just wanted to try something in my area but nope. read more

I love La Brea nails! I have gone to a few places for manicure's and my acrylics and this is by far the best nail salon around. They remember me evey time and know what I prefer. I would have loved a sincere apology from Ellen but at least the owner seemed apologetic for my horrific experience. I will not be returning because I am not risking getting my cuticles cut and infected a third time. I hope they will learn from this and be more careful in the sensitive parts of a client's nails. ------------ Unfortunately I did not want to write this review but after receiving such a nonchalant response from the owner and nail artist themselves, I feel like it is my responsibility to write an honest review about my experience here. I had such a wonderful experience getting my nails done in Korea so I wanted to look up a place that offered Korean style nails. I found purrple nails which was conveniently located near me with a staff filled of Korean artists. My first experience was with Soo and she did fine I guess. I like that she was detailed about her design but she did cut my cuticle once and was very rough with drilling. For those who don't know, drilling gets hot and the artist should know to lift it every few seconds to not burn the person's skin. Because I liked the design so much, I made a second appointment to give another artist a try. This second appointment was with Ellen. She was sooo rough when it came down to removing the polish and cleaning and cutting the cuticles. One of my cuticles started bleeding a lot and she just used the dust to stop the bleeding but did not apologize once. I let it go. But after getting home, I noticed my cuticles and fingers were so tender and red. I decided to let time heal but it's been a week and my right thumb is still swollen and tender. It's painful to touch. I told the owner and Ellen and after some back and forth, they finally did apologize. However it left kind of a sour taste in my mouth because it just seemed like they brushed it off thinking 10 percent off the next appointment would really make up for the pain I'm having in my finger. Not sure if I will come back. The owner asked me to try another artist but how do I prevent this from happening a third time?

Horrible. Zero star…read more Made an appt and told them what I want done. My appt time was ~1.5 hours before they close. I was excited and drove 1/2 hour to try Korean nail salon. Prep for gel plus 1 extension took more than 2 hours then after the prep, they filed my nails down. They filed it so short and was unattentive that they filed off my skin and it started to bleed. It took longer than expected and I had to leave and was to return the next day. Thankfully I left because my filed down skin continued to bleed for an hour or more after. Gel and design took another ~2 hours. Total time almost 4 hours (+ 2 hours of driving time). Price was almost double other places I go to. Then less then 10 days after, the entire gel came off for one nail...next day, another...and next day a couple more. At least it came off neatly rather than chipped. At this point, I easily peeled off the rest. I messaged them and they offered to give me a free redo. Thank you but no thank you. I am not about to waste another 4+ hours and spend gas money all to risk getting an infection. Please hire properly trained and certified nail techs. Because other reviews have mentioned nail tech cutting down cuticles to the point of bleeding and nails chipping or coming off.

ZERO STARS!!!! They don't sanitize their tools! It is my birthday on Monday and my sister treated me to a Bday Mani and Pedi! I was quickly uncomfortable. First off there was dirt and soap in the pedicure pit when I sat down, when I said something she made me move my feet over while she cleaned it. I told her not to rub my legs because the chemical irritates them and she still did and I kept telling her to stop but she did NOT listen. My legs were bright red the rest of last night. I had to put aloe vera and cold press on them to be able to sleep. Back to the nails, she put a wooden board that wasn't smooth and had splinters in it onto my lap to do the mani part. She cut me so deep and I removed my hand. She kept trying to cut around and it was stinging pain and I told her to stop. She said the chair was vibrating and thats why she cut me.. the chair WASNT even on! She didn't even sanitize her chemicals, she gave the same tools to the girl to use for the other clients. So.. they cut me, I am bleeding heavily, they don't even say sorry but blame me for a chair that wasn't even on.. and then don't understand why we are freaking out because the blood is dripping off the finger. This is UNACCEPTABLE! We had to go to the ER to make sure there was no infection. I called the lady to talk to the manager and some girl picked up and lied and said she is the owner. I said no, I don't think you are the owner, she then denied it and then the third time I said I want the owner and she said I am manager also. I said I do not want you to lie to me give me the manager, and she said Oh he's busy he call you later. read more

My old salon was sold and i was thinking about a change anyway and I found La Brea Salon! when I went in, I felt confident that everyone knew what they were doing. they were friendly, professional, aware of covid precautions, and they didn't rush people. Everyone in this salon is fantastic! I make an appointment for every 2 weeks and if I had to change it, they tried to work with my schedule. They have never rushed me and even picked out my colors since that is not my speciality and it is theirs. Everyone is pleasant, professional, has patience with everyone, and I consider them friends. I have been going to Generation Nail Salon since Jennifer's aunt, Linda, owned it. I'm more impressed now. Prices are reasonably low, get a full pedi around $35.00 that includes 15 extra minute massage. Sometimes I will get 1hr facial. Amazing. Mindy is my favorite and does an excellent job everytime. I am a diabetic, important to watch care of my feet. If I want a particular color they don't carry, just bring my own. Hope they can re-open soon, I get a pedicure once a month. I pray that everyone was ok and that the fire didn't destroy too much. read more
