Loved my experience here! And they offer complimentary beverages, yessss!! I made a very last minute appointment here on Sunday, March 22nd. I called around to about 6 different nail salons that were near Shaw/Howard and Chinatown area for a last minute gel pedicure. Cosmo Beauty Bar was the only salon who could take me and what a blessing it was. Ivee took such great care of me. My feet were neglected for a while and she gave me tips on healing the skin... no nail tech has ever offered me advice and her advice has helped my skin get better. I am so appreciative of her! read more

Went today and three of my fingernails and one of my toenails are bleeding - one finger and the toe are pretty significant. I will likely head to a gentler salon next time. read more

I am so happy with my nails. I don't get my nails done often and I often feel pretty dissatisfied with some aspect of my manicure. Everything here was great - the staff are a lot of fun, the nail technique was great, the prices are reasonable, and I absolutely loved my manicure. They also have wine if you want to unwind during your service. I'll be back. read more

Love the staff, the quality, and the finished product was just what I asked for! I recently relocated from New York to DC and I've been doing a ton of research on nail salons as my nails are quite important to me. In New York, I go to a salon called Primp & Polish (please check it out). I wanted a similar vibe down here but found that to be hard since not many salons to liquid/hard gel. I landed in Cosmo Beauty Bar based on a recommendation from my friend. YoYo and Molly are both great - cool personalities and do wonderful work. I'll certainly go back based off that but what's missing is the vibe. I was looking at salons like Nail Saloon (look them up) but want nail techs who can do awesome work and liquid/hard gel. Don't get me wrong, Cosmo is clean and they use good products but things like the polish display, it's quite cluttered and it was hard to find the OPI white polish I typically use on my feet. All that aside, get into my nails because they look bomb and check them out if you're looking for a new spot! read more

I was in a bind and needed my nails done ASAP, and came upon some really good reviews for this place. I decided to take a chance and they had availability. Upon walking in, I was greeted very warmly and given nail colors to Select. My nail technician was very kind and sweet and made sure that my nail color was exactly what I wanted and confirmed my nail shape. My nails ended up looking better than I wanted or expected. My nail technician's name was Lucy and I highly recommend her. She did such an amazing job. I wish I took a picture because they were gorgeous and I still get compliments even two weeks later. read more

This is my FAVORITE nail salon! They are AMAZING! M my girl Ari NEVER miss, everything she does it fire! I usually get medium gel x and a gel pedicure and she is the best at BOTH! I'm picky and very particular and shape/execution and she slays every time! I don't have to explain a thing, she gets it! They always have good music playing and they offer wine and water! Such a vibe! Definitely recommend! read more

Mixed feelings about this place. First, I made a reservation for a Sunday at noon and didn't need it- the place was empty. The woman did a great job, spent her time and was thorough. When I asked for the (cheese) grater (I don't know the real name) she ran and got it. Another girl came in mid-way and asked for pricing and when she seemed to think it was too much and walked out, the ladies spoke in their language, clearly about her, which was a bit uncomfortable. Then when I went to leave, she told me that the grater was an additional $10!! I was shocked. I've never had a place up-charge for that. (And nothing was said when I asked for it.) I would've made this my go-to place, but I'm not keen on the nickel and diming. I'll have to keep looking. read more

Poor service. Asked for a nail repair. Was told they could fit me in and to pick out a color. Waited 20 minutes and then the lady in charge told me they couldn't do it. It's clear the salon is chaotic as they had people coming in and waiting and no one to great them. If you want good service stay away! read more

Went for first time for a basic pedicure and the technician did a great job. Quick efficient service and my toenails look fantastic!

Gave this place another try and boy am I glad I did! I go here specifically for the gel x nails and they get it right every time! I even trusted them with my wedding nails and they were better than I could dream up. The staff wonderful, attentive, social, and professional. Give this place a try if you are looking to get into gel x nails! read more

Finally got my nails back and excited to try cosmo! Yo-yo helped me out and I loved her! Everyone at the salon is extremely nice and it was great vibes inside. It was absolutely packed. My only qualm was the wait but once she was able to work on my nails it was awesome! I LOVE how they turned out and I'm already excited to go back and get my next fill. Hopefully they last :) read more

Lynn is phenomenal. If you are a fan of French pedicures, highly recommend. She is also very friendly and accommodating.

Not sure if there's been a change in management but there has been a noticeable shift in service over the past few years, not for the better. When I arrived, I informed your staff of the services I needed and asked about the wait time. I was told it would be 10-15 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I inquired again and was told "5 more minutes." After sitting for 35 minutes total, I asked once more about the wait time and was told it would be another 35 minutes bc someone with an appointment just walked in. This was extremely frustrating and was an utter waste of time. If your staff cannot accommodate a customer within a reasonable timeframe, it would be more respectful to communicate this upfront rather than providing inaccurate wait time estimates. This is a constant issue with Cosmo, even with appointments. The Nail Place down the street said 10 minute wait and it was 6mins, It's also cleaner and much less chatter read more

the worst pedicure i have ever had in my life. they charge you extra for everything but they don't give you a real pedicure! it's like going to the cosmetology school for a pedicure I was not pleased read more

Great job on my pedicure, she took her time and I feel refreshed! They were quick and timely.

Best gel x in DC and tons of dip colors. Always a solid pedicure. Ask for mollie if you want designs!

Great service every time I come! I see Ari and she gives the best French! I recommend

Everything was amazing. Super clean, and good service altogether! I got a gel manicure and pedicure

I called and requested a color change and gel x manicure. I came in at 5 and was out after 8. Everyone was very kind however 3 people asked me the same question of what I wanted and it got lost in translation. Somehow my color change ended up being a pedicure where I was forced to use gel for my French tip, I never heard that before but I felt like I had no choice. They already prepped me for a pedicure I didn't ask for. The person who did my gel x were obviously new to it and she refused to clean up with a brush and used her nail to remove excess product. This was painful and frustrating especially to see that the entire nail was not painted. So many spots missed. I will not be returning. My first visit was better but I can't agree with their business practices. Please be more vocal about experience level on services rendered. I'm not willing to pay top money for entry level performance read more

Love the ladies here! They do such an incredible job; Molly knocks out my design every single time !!!

Great and fast service! I came for a gel pedicure and was out in less than an hour. The work was neat and clean!

Love coming here! Great service every time. Everyone is so nice and they serve wine and tea

Definitely a TERRIBLE experience visiting this place. For starters, I made an appointment for 4:30 PM and took an Uber just to be on time. I even arrived early, only to be ignored the moment I stepped in. One of the nail technicians finally greeted me--but only after I had to remind them I was there. YoYo, the tech at the front, told me to sit at table 7 and NEVER spoke another word to me. I sat there for 45 minutes without a single update, apology, or acknowledgment. I was polite, I smiled, and yet not one staff member showed any basic courtesy. Someone could have at least apologized for the wait, but instead, a few of them just looked at me and kept going about their business like I didn't exist. When I finally called my Uber and walked out, YoYo--the same tech who sat me down--was standing near the door. Not even she acknowledged me. I definitely felt like I didn't matter in this establishment, and I highly suggest my people STOP supporting places like this and START supporting more Black-owned businesses. NEVER again. read more

Best quality nails in the CITY. I don't recommend appointment, go when you have time to waste or chill. They are super busy because they do quality nails. Pro they speak english well! Pro they are LGBTQ friendly and really take pride in getting to know the locals! Home away from home! You really need patients because they are so busy i just always let them know if I have a hard stop. read more

I was highly disappointed in this nail salon. I called in for an appointment and was able to be seen that day. When I went in, I asked for someone seasoned t o do my nails because I was new to the shop. I wanted some intricate details on my nails so they allowed me to go to a newer specialist that was more comfortable with designs. There were several red flags: 1) The young lady was Of a different race and was weirdly placed downstairs in the basement to do nails. 2) She was not able to use the products that everyone else was using, 3) We were rushed to finish, 4) She only has about two years of experience. In business, these can be problematic in the service industry and I was really shocked of the practices that I saw unfold. After about 6 days my nails were lifting. I have professional career, so I could not immediately go and get this looked at. I finally got the time to go in about 10 days out and was told there was nothing to be done. You can read the discussions in the attachment. Though I know getting your nails done every two weeks is normal, lifting, peaking, scrapes, and cracks are not. I've been getting my nails done for 25 years and I only complain when things are normal. Lifted nails are painful. I have left a shop because it was not properly applied or the products used were cheap. Professionalism is at the height of this. If you know the quality of products and service, own it and offer some type of recompense to someone paying $163. read more

This is my go-to nail salon in DC when I want to get a dipping powder manicure. Their colors go beyond the SNS collection and my nails typically stay in tact for three weeks. Not always. But more often than not. I was kind of tempted not to leave a review because I don't want them to get busier than they already get. But I do like the service here despite the long wait sometimes. This location is the second after the other Cosmo in Adams Morgan. Though I've never been there, I prefer this location for convenience of getting to and parking as well. But again, they can get pretty busy so I suggest calling ahead of time if you don't have the time to wait around. Some things I particularly like about this salon: - lots of dipping powder color options - nail techs are good at shaping both real nails and tips - dipping powder mani almost always stays in tact for 3 weeks - beverages always offered - pedicure menu includes a gentleman's pedi (great for hubby!) - tips accepted through Venmo when you don't have cash or don't want to use their ATM machine read more

I've been getting SNS for 3 years now. 3 YEARS!!!!!!! I have never experienced this. I got SNS powder with a French tip which was not cheap. Within 4 days the gel polish started chipping and the then the SNS started coming off. The picture is from day 5. Unfortunately I was out of town and couldn't just walk back into the store. I messaged the owner on day 6 about my nail issue and she does not respond back. I call today to speak to her and she offers no proper solution. She claims that after 3 days they do not fix but that is not listed on their website, then she was well aware of the issue which means she read my text and just ignored it. And is now claiming it is well over a week so I would have to pay for my SNS to be redone. The owner is offering to only redo the French tip even after I explained to her the French tip is not the only problem. The gel and the dip is lifting. I do not even want the gel French anymore, just redo my SNS the proper way. I can't even get that. Apparently I have to pay the full price And this is only my second time at this place. The first time I got a pedicure and was very unhappy as well. I tried to give them a second chance which is why I went again but clearly this is not the place for me. read more

Went here on reference from friends since they have such cute nail design! I love my dip nails with glitter. Many color options and experts ready to do more advance designs. Pedicure was solid with cleanup and brief massage. The space is a bit cramped and has a TV playing music videos on the loop (all catchy top 100 songs). They do offer drinks and wine. However, due to the eclectic and cramped style it's not the most relaxing nail day but you will get very cute nails! Ask about pricing for designs in advance since it wasn't super transparent up front. Can get costly for more complicated items. Be sure to check in at the Ipad when you arrive and you can pick out your colors in the front. So many wonderful options from chrome, glitter, matte and more. read more
