We saw a flying pig hanging from a string on the ceiling. We saw hand painted murals of outer space, space aliens, and psychedelic far-out grooviness all over the walls and floor. And speaking of the floor, you'll see a yellow brick road that will take you on a winding trip through spectacularly painted hallways and into many art galleries with wonderful paintings and pop art celebrations on the walls. It's like an art museum on acid. The service was awesome- we walked in and had about a 20 minute wait, which went by in a flash as we enjoyed the far out artwork throughout the premises. When our buzzer went off, we were directed to a table and met Tiffany, our server, who was consistently wonderful throughout our meal, with numerous check-backs and coffee refills. On the way out, a young guy who was clearing tables, thanked us for our business and wished us a great day. Our breakfast was great! My wife ordered the 'Smore Pancakes ($7.49) a wonderful concoction pf pancakes, crumbled graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate chips. I had a forkful, and yes it was amazing. My Fajita Omelet was $9.49 and is advertised as a three egg omelet with fajita seasoned shaved steak, onions, peppers and cheddar, hot peppers optional, salsa and sour cream on the side, served with hash browns, home fries or grits and toast. What a plateful of deliciousness! Coffees were $2.09 each, so our wonderful breakfast ran us $24.10 before tip. What a fun meal we had. What a fun place we visited. Been here numerous times in the past year, and never left hungry or disappointed. Always worthy of a 6-star review, but only allowed to give 5, so 5 it is. Very eclectic place, with lots and lots of interesting works of art (just follow the yellow brick road). Food is amazing. They make their own CBH, which is a prerequisite for earning 5 stars. Their pancakes are YUMMY. My neighbor had the Reuben omelet, I had the CBH omelet. Each comes with 3 eggs, toast, and a choice of home fries, hash browns, or grits. Pros This place has some good food. Bacon is always nice and crispy. Portions and service are good too. Cons The plates are gross and old. No one wants to eat off a faded plastic plate with 1,000 dirty knife marks on it. I ordered a side of home fries that were shriveled up and chewy. Ordered take out from the place. Let me tell you that this place is kind of hidden. Not really seen from the road. Due to it being inside of a small little plaza and a building in front that kind of hides it. When I walked inside the place was a decent size. Cool paintings in the wall. I had ordered the veggie omelet and blueberry pancakes. The omelet was really good. Had tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, and broccoli inside along with cheese of course. The home fries were ok. It wasn't bad but could of been done a little bit better. Maybe it just wasn't their day for home fries. It was seasoned I will say that. I feel like it was seasoned and precooked. Then reheated and crispyfied by throwing into the fryer real quick. I think by doing so made the seasoning that was prior added to the home fries wash off. But, I did taste a little bit of the seasoning. Was not bland. The blueberry pancake was good. Had wild blue berries in it. I love those kinds of blueberries. I also love blueberry pancake. So I was not disappointed in that because it satisfied my blueberry pancake craving that I've had in a long, really long time. Comic Omelet had been in my bookmarks for quite a while and a Yelper friend encouraged me to give it a try. I'm giving Cosmic Omelet 3 stars for food and 4 stars for it's fun atmosphere. I guess I should have tried an omelet at an omelet place but I was trying to count calories. I had eggs, bacon and home fries. My eggs were cooked perfectly, The bacon was also perfect, crisp but not overcooked. My home fries and toast had a little char to them. It was enough to slightly taste the char but not enough to complain about. No grease on my plate which always makes me happy. My friend ordered an omelet and he was very happy with it. There was something I really liked about the décor. The seating and lay out has a diner feel. The clock has planets as numbers. The floor has cosmic painting on it. The yellow brick road leads to a cute arcade in the back. The whole planet/space theme was off beat and fun. It brought me back to my 7th grade science fair. Look at the pics other Yelpers have posted and you will see unicorns, brick roads, and other Pink Floyd/hippie/substance fueled drawings and murals, it's pretty cool to look around the restaurant! They have too many omelettes to list, and they are creative---- this place reminds me of the old Omelette Parlor that used to be at 17th and Newport in NB from back in the day ( SoCal reference). They also offer to make your food a 'mess' where they just mix everything up for you in advance, which I loved!!! Give yourself a lot of time just to read the menu, it's big. This is a great spot with very unique as well as traditional breakfast items. There may be a line out the door on weekends but it is worth it, and I don't normally wait in lines. I love the corned beef hash and I always try different omelets. Their potatoes are really good too, which is hit or miss with breakfasts at other restaurants to me normally. My husband always goes with traditional eggs over or cheese omelet. We have never been disappointed. No matter how busy they are the staff is quick, the food gets to you as soon as it is ready and they are friendly and know their menu. Visited Cosmic Omelet the day after Christmas after hearing about it for some time. The menu had some out of this world combinations, but my family settled on the standard fare options. I ordered the Three Pig Omelet - ham, sausage, and bacon with American cheese. Didn't read the menu closely enough that I had to special order it as Cosmic to add cream cheese, so I may have missed out. I did upgrade to a bagel with cream cheese (which was the awesome whipped version) so I know I got my allotted cream cheese serving for the day. The kids cleaned their plates of French toast, while the wife enjoyed bacon and English muffin. The only negative was they were grossly understaffed on a holiday and the food was cold when we got it - and having waited roughly 20 minutes (didn't clock it, it could've been more or less) to get our food, I wasn't about to wait who knows how long. The server was too busy to check on how everything was, no apologies for the wait time until the cashier asked how everything was. Overall I was a little disappointed for our first visit, but we'll try them again someday. Probably will be staying away on a holiday, though. read more

Late review, we stopped here for breakfast on Monday February 16th. I noticed a lot of reviews for the Cosmic Omelet, I've had it bookmarked on Yelp for a short time. Since we were going to be in the Manchester area, decided to stop for breakfast and see what all the fanfare was about. I liked the "Alien theme" inside, was pretty neat. But after that, things went downhill. First thing we noticed was that the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, just miserable attitudes. One girl filling up coffee smiled when she came by, but that was only smile we saw while we were eating breakfast. And as in my last review (First & Last Tavern in Avon), the staff was arguing in the kitchen area, which is in full view of all the customers. Maybe this winter has been hard on the people in Connecticut, but try to lighten up people ! Anyway, on to the food. We might have made a mistake by not ordering the namesake, omelets, but honestly, the food we did receive was very bland & boring. My fiancee ordered the Eggs Benedict, I went with the Sausage pancakes. Everything was flavorless. My fiancee's hash brown's were clumpy. I could barely detect the sausage in my "sausage pancakes". And the pancakes themselves were dry. What's the point of going out to eat if you can make something better at home ? (and I'm no cook, by any means). Needless to say, we won't be coming back. I heard so much about this place and it was highly recommended. Unfortunately, I was disappointed! First things first the server was nice got me coffee and I ordered right away. After receiving my coffee I sat at my table observing the surroundings. I noticed the floors were very dirty. My food came shortly after ward. For people who know me I love breakfast food especially grits and egg whites. I ordered a special that included egg whites , grits, bacon and wheat toast. I was so hungry and so excited about trying this new place. I buttered my toast and started to eat what I thought were grits. It tasted strange and had a sweet taste and looked real fine . Almost like cream wheat consistency. I went to eat my eggs and realized that were not egg whites but scrambled eggs. When the waiter came back to check on me I asked her did they give me cream of wheat instead of grits? She replies oh no that's polenta! We don't have grits. I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this place yet! It's just far enough from home that I don't go on a regular basis, but every time my husband & I take a trip north, we always make sure to leave early enough to get breakfast here on the way. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. I love to take the yellow brick road to the bathroom and check out the artwork along the way and in the back room. There is also tons of seating in the dining room, but I've never felt like I was sitting on top of another party. Another rarity is that no matter how busy it gets, the service is always great. The food comes out quickly and the wait staff comes around frequently to refill waters and coffees. I've gotten many different omelets over the years, but my new favorite is the vegetarian, made soft and cosmic. I go between the cheddar grits and hash browns as a side, so it's usually a game time decision. The omelets are always made just right and the ingredients and portions are never skimpy. I have to add that if making an omelet cosmic (adding cream cheese) seems odd, try it anyway! Once you do, I bet you'll never look back! The gooey cream cheese really brings it to a whole new level. One last thing that I need to rave about is the selection of hot sauces. I never knew it before, but good hot sauce & cream cheese seem to be the way to my heart. I've been pushing off trying cosmic omelet for a few months now since it's a bit out of my way compared to where I usually go and now I'm regretting it. I fell in love with omelets in college; we had an omelet bar. I haven't been able to find one that compares to the variety until now. We had the O'brendan's omelet and the vegetarian omelet with cheddar cheese with a side of bacon and biscuits and gravy. In the best way possible, brought me memories back from college. I loved it. There are so many different styles to choose from and there is even a make your own option. It's hard not to please everyone based off their insane list of omelet styles. I am also a hot sauce junkie and they even have quite the collection of hot sauces as well. I tried some new hot sauces Saturday morning and plan to try more during my next visit! We happened upon Cosmic Omelet when scrolling on Yelp for brunch this past Saturday. I'm so glad we chose to go to Cosmic Omelet. They were packed, in a good way, as all the locals seem to know about this hidden gem. The wait time took not even 10 minutes for a table and when food was brought out after our order was placed it was prompt and piping hot. The Cosmic Omelet is a Manchester staple that I've just never been able to fully get behind. They serve up a decent enough breakfast that is good, but it just never wows me. Not sure if it's the atmosphere (which others love) but it just doesn't feel cozy or breakfasty to me, maybe it's the lighting. (I also really kinda hate the plates, small detail that doesn't really matter, but I just don't like them).
