As a life long Nuggets fan, I never thought I'd say that I miss Larry H. Miller, but I do. LHM Toyota was awesome. I did not buy my '09 Avalon there, but I took it there for service. The staff was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and actually went out of their way to make sure I wasn't getting charged for unnecessary things. It was to the point where I would drive up from Denver for my oil changes the three times a year or so it was necessary. It didn't hurt that they had the oil change pre pay packages either. They started at 3 for $75 and I think they were 3 for $90 when I last bought one. No matter what, it was a great deal. Unfortunately, Corwin took over. I held out hope that the same service would be there with a different name. I was wrong. NONE of the staff that was there the last time I was in was there. And they got rid of the pre pay packages. Both of those were disappointing, but I figured it's life. Then they did my oil change. I also needed new wipers. In the past, LHM would charge under $10 to replace the inserts. Corwin wouldn't do that and demanded I put on new wipers. I should have said no, but I was dumb. That's on me. The fact they charged me $45 for wipers though? That's on them. They also forgot to bill me for that so they called me up and harassed me that I "had to pay them or else". Nevermind that it was their fault that they didn't charge me, nor was I aware that they didn't charge me. The next morning my tire pressure light was on. Considering we live in Colorado, I didn't think anything of it and went to the nearest air station to pump them up although I was annoyed because I had just done that a few days earlier. My tires are usually between 34 and 36 psi. One of them was at 30, another one was at 32 and two of them were at 40. I have no idea what the hell the techs were doing with my car. I will not be back. Time to find a new place to take my business. read more

Between forgetting to put appointments in the books, saying parts were ordered when they weren't, having to return several times because the parts weren't ordered and no one ever told me, never returning calls AND installing the parts incorrectly in my car... it took weeks to get my sunroof replaced and it still doesn't work RIP. I also bought a new set of tires and they lost one of them during installation so I had to wait an additional 2 days to have 4 tires to be put on my car. I had an appointment with a Toyota dealership which was closer to my house but it was much later due to the dealership being busy so I went with these guys. This was a big mistake. I read a couple of the reviews of bad customer service and I think I passed it off as people just being too picky. I was wrong read on. I got to the dealership at 6:50 am as I was instructed to do so I can check in early. When I got there I parked the car and headed for the door at which point I was shewed away and told to go wait in my car like a child. I was angry but bit my tongue and said "just suck it up". The guy (the same one who shewed me away) finally lets us in and assigns a mechanic to me. The mechanic "Rork" was on vacation. There was confusion and the crew started helping others behind me even though I was one of first people there. I went and found the cranky son of a bitch and informed him that the mechanic that he assigned to me was not there. He says "I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should find another place to get your car serviced". So I know what your thinking. Your thinking ok so you packed your shit up and left right? No. I am an idiot. Against every instinct that was telling me to take my car and get out of there I left it because there was a nice fellow, John I believe, who helped me and I told myself I was over reacting due to one cranky individual. Again, I was ver wrong. I leave my car and tell them what it needed as my brother in law had the car looked at in California so I had a price range and I knew exactly what needed to be replaced. Which was around the $1800 - $2300 range depending on the hourly rate. I get a call with an estimate of around $6200, with recommendations to replace things that did not need replacing. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. If you are sadistic like me and like pain just save yourself the trouble and stab yourself in the eye. It will save you the 1 hour drive. read more

Summary: Corwin Boulder Toyota sales representatives do not know the specifics about their vehicles. Due to this lack of knowledge, they lie (withhold information/details due to ignorance) about what is included with the vehicle and how it operates. We purchased a 2023 4Runner, which is a great truck, however some of the nuances are not to our liking especially the one (adaptive cruise control) that we said was a deal breaker. Tried to return the vehicle, and get our car back, but was denied and forced to buy back our car for a loss of $14,000 - INSANE!!! We stayed with the 4Runner in the end but was deceived, lied to, and then almost hustled. Typical dealership. Full story below... Advice: ask for the most experienced and knowledgeable sales representative that Corwin has. Do your research about the vehicle you want, and challenge the sales representative; ask them to show you EVERYTHING you have on your "must have list". If possible, go to a dealer outside of Boulder who has customer focused policies. Corwin Toyota Boulder is a stereotypical car dealership - hustlers. Their sales reps are do not receive commissions, which may sound like it benefits the customer, but instead it fosters a poor work ethic and culture that does not see the benefit of being knowledgeable. Full story: We went into Corwin Boulder Toyota looking for a new 4Runner with the following features: TRD wheels and tires, black badging, under 30k miles, black interior, KDSS suspension (smoother highway ride), runner bars, "adaptive cruise control", smart key, and the sliding cargo tray as an extra bonus. We settled on a 2023 Off-Road Premium and during the test drive we explained to the sales rep that we must have adaptive cruise control that stops and starts by itself in bumper to bumper traffic because our trade-in (2019 Subaru WRX) had it, and it was a deal breaker without it. The sales rep nodded his head and acknowledged our requested signaling to us that "yes, it's included in this truck". That was a bad assumption. During the short test drive we did not engage cruise control (that's on us). During the walk around we asked more questions in which the sales rep responded "uh, I don't know, that's a good question", and did not follow-up. We ended up buying the vehicle. We drove to Denver the next night, utilizing the "adaptive" cruise control (ACC), and found out quickly that we were lied to. The vehicle did slow down in heavy traffic, but at 20mph-ish the ACC shuts off and you just take control. We almost rear ended a couple vehicles until we figured out what was going on. We immediately said that we were bringing it back. In the morning (less than 48hrs), we engaged with the sales manager and pleaded our case. Corwin Boulder Toyota does not have a "cool down period" or a return policy like many of their competitors do in the area (some have between 3-7 days return policy for new cars). So, we were given the option to trade in the new (now used) 4Runner and purchase our WRX back. I won't get into the heavy details, but the sales manager did not provide a very good summary of the financials, and basically made it look like it would cost $4,000 to get back into our car. This however did not make sense to me. After 45minutes of questioning and requesting each line item to be explained, it was us that discovered the true expense of getting back into the car that we owner less than 48hrs ago - $14,000!!! Insane!!! We would have got "scammed" if we had not been on our A-game. The sales manager was not very helpful in the process, and we felt quite deceived. Needless to say, we were not happy, but ended up staying with the 4Runner because the dealership would not work with us to correct their error (to be fair, this whole situation was a 50/50 shared fault). The 4Runner is an amazing vehicle, and we will be happy with it in the long run, but the experience we had was far from acceptable. read more

Purchased new Toyota Prius Prime from Corwin 90 days ago-- sales transaction was "fine", but on delivery I found a defect on the speedometer display in the brand new car. All parties involved agreed Corwin/Toyota would fix the issue, but so far it hasn't happened. First 60 days I waited while they "tried to find a part" (supposedly these are difficult to locate for the new Prius Primes). Then the service manager suggested that if we schedule an appointment toward the end of the year it would "motivate" Toyota to get them a part. I was a bit skeptical, but I was willing to give it a try. I called the day before my appointment to confirm that the part was in the building and was assured that it was. Arrived today at my 7am(!) for my appointment to learn that 1) they ordered the wrong part so my car couldn't be fixed and 2) the part they need (speedometer related) *couldn't* be ordered unless I leave the vehicle. That wouldn't be an issue if this was a quick (one or two day fix), but I've waited 90 days for this part already so it's hard to imagine them getting resolved in fewer than 3-6 months. I've spoken to the service manager (Rudy) at least 4 times over the past 90 days about this issue and he assured me that they were working on the problem.... Nice enough guy, but If their policy for a speedometer replacement was that I need to leave the vehicle with them for them to even order the part, *why* didn't he ever mention that little detail before? Yelp won't let me leave no stars, but by averaging our purchase and subsequent service it would leave us with zero stars. ZERO. I took my 2017 auto, purchased at this Toyota dealership, in for its regular, scheduled maintenance, during which they somehow disabled / broke the radio, and nowadays those are computers so it also impacted the hands-free phone feature. I immediately called Toyota service to let them know something they'd done had damaged the radio, and they told me to come on in, no appointment needed. I went in, some man popped his head in my car and told me they'd get back to me shortly. Nothing. So I called and left a message for Service. No response. I called twice more, no call backs. I called again and told the operator I am no longer interested in leaving vms so she took my message; miraculously someone did call and told me they'd ordered a new radio and it would "be there shortly." Three weeks later I called again, left a vm, kept calling to speak with two operators (one for Service, one for general and yes, I have both their names), one of whom (Service) said she would look in to it and both she and Nas (sp?), who oversees audio, would call me "tomorrow" (surprise surprise -- no call from either) and the other (General) who was unnecessarily snarky told me (and this is a direct quote): "There is literally nothing I can do for you." She would not put me through to a manager, she would not take a message. So Larry H. Miller Toyota of Boulder broke my radio, repeatedly refused to make things right, repeatedly lied to me, and evidently have their workers treat wronged customers poorly. Got it. Message received. Instead I called Toyota USA to open a formal complaint, and that is my suggestion to you all: call 1-800-331-4331, select option 3 and tell them precisely what is going on or, in most of our cases, not going on. Have your VIN ready. Within 24 hours of my contacting Toyota USA someone from LHM Toyota Boulder called and left a message which said that he'd "just ordered a radio and it would be in in 3 - 5 days." Thereby proving that the two times I actually had a response (which took me 10+ times contacting LHM Toyota Boulder) from Service (when I came in days following their breaking the radio and the vm I received a month later, after multiple attempts from me) that they were outright LYING. This is organized bald faced lying to a customer whose product LHM Toyota Boulder broke. Two months after I initially alerted LHM Toyota of Boulder that they'd broken my radio and only after Toyota USA got involved was there a promise. By the way, still don't have a working radio, so ... not even sure this time it'll work out. This is not how you run a business. Can you really break equipment and then a) not own up to it and b) not repair / replace it? LHM Boulder Toyota evidently thinks and practices a "yes" answer to those questions, which I'd always assumed were rhetorical because of course a business cannot practice that way! I drove 8 hours to Boulder and once o got there they said the price was the manufacturer's suggested retail price and that the actual price was an extra $10,000. I'm a lifelong Toyota driver. I don't know where to start. We had a repair diagnostic completed, took the vehicle in to have that part replaced, and received a phone call stating that wasn't the problem (we needed a $280 diagnostic). When we requested to see old part from the initial issue, we were told it'd been thrown out. Pretty shady. From the get go, even before getting the phone call, the person helping us (Jennifer) had a pretty poor attitude - almost like we were a bother or inconveniencing her. If you don't like people and can't smile when greeting someone, why are you in the customer service field? I just don't get it. When we picked up the vehicle and started to explain our confusion about the situation, she rudely told her she wasn't talking to us about it, that she'd get the mechanic and walked away. Super nasty attitude! Then, she admitted she used the wrong terminology to explain the situation to begin with bit explained that in a rude tone as well. Ultimately, we had them remove the part they "fixed" and told them we'd be going elsewhere. No apologies about the situation from Jennifer. The repair debacle was bad enough, but to top of off with horrible customer service, this experience really deserves ZERO stars. There are too many good shops in town to have to deal with attitude and somewhat sketchy repair practices. Sorry Toyota, both of our vehicles we will find a new place for their repairs. And, when we're prepared to buy new Toyota's, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Terrible and shady experience with Corwin Toyota. I had my regular battery replaced. And only when I left Toyota and after asking twice they told me that I had to replace the hybrid battery too. The initial information that I got was: "Just drive and the lights at the dashboard will turn eventually off. The program needs to be reset only." What a scam. The offer for replacing the hybrid battery I got was $3800. I had it done in the Bay Area for $1800. The morning after they replaced my regular battery I asked if I could have my battery and they told me they could not find it. When I picked up the car two of my windows were no longer working (they worked before) and I was informed if I want to fix them it costs $800. The mechanic in the Bay just reset the program and the windows thankfully work again. So Toyota actually lied to me! They also exchanged the oil, but after 2 days of driving the light at the dashboard showed that I needed to refill the oil. I checked and I have no engine leak. I don't know what they did, but I needed to refill the oil. Overall a very disappointing and frustrating experience. They are failing in all accounts of customer service. I have had my 4-runners routine oil changes at Boulder Toyota for 8 years. I was told at at my last oil change with Larry H Miller my rear brakes needed to be changed so I had them changed. My brakes started making noise (11,000 miles since the previous break change, Corwin took over, I was told my front and rear brakes were bad and everything would be replaced by warranty. My next oil change with 5,900 miles on my rear brakes I was told I needed to change my rear brakes soon and I told them they were just replaced. My next oil change with around 15,000 miles my brakes were in the read according to their chart. I had them changed and went through my records and reached out to my service manager asking why I keep having to change my brakes after 15,000 miles (I do not drive with two feet, I do not tow anything, I do not off road, I do not race, I drive on Boulder paved roads. After reaching out to the supervisor and regional manager I was completely dismissed and told we are looking into it. The regional manager got back to me today and said it is up to the brake pad manufacturer to determine how they handle their warranties and they hope I continue to use Corwin. read more

I had been in constant communication with the dealer, and told them I was on my way, and exactly what time I would be there. As I was pulling in the parking lot, the gentleman I had been working with told me that the car had just sold. I've never had that happen before. If you're driving up, an hour out of your way, they should put the keys aside. What's the point of scheduling an appt? Midday on Monday, "Pearly" (my Highlander)'s oil line broke open at Pearl Street Mall. We were supposed to be driving home to Salt Lake the next morning. What a terrible feeling being stranded with 3 kids. We were relieved to find out Pearly was being towed to a LHM Toyota in Boulder. (My car was originally purchased at LHM Toyota in Murray UT.) As a result, these guys were able to access all of our information & service history! We had to get a rental car and had to check in at a new hotel while we waited for our parts to arrive. The good folks at LHM Toyota put a STAT FIX order on Pearly since we were stranded & out of town. They even contacted the rental car center, and hooked us up with a significantly reduced rental rate for the few days we were waiting around. While stranded, we researched the cost of repairing this job. We felt "better" when LHM quoted us a few hundred below what we were anticipating. They also discovered a safety issue with our brakes, so we opted to have that repaired while we waited for the oil line parts. The service manager (Michael Moore) communicated with my husband via text, giving us informative updates whenever he could. Plus he sent photos of the damage/repair, which I appreciated. Thankfully they also cleaned off the disgusting oil mess that had sprayed everywhere. Oil was all over my car's underbelly, and had doused the entire back of my vehicle -- it was a nightmare! We were stranded for a few days which was an inconvenience, but on the plus side, I'm so grateful it wasn't in the middle of our drive home, in the middle of no where, in 100° weather. I had an 10:30 am appointment (booked 7 days in advance) to get my windshield wiper repaired/replaced, and I left my car at Corwin at 10am. After no updates all day, at 4:20 I left repeated phone & text messages to the service manager. At ~4:49 AS let me know that due staffing issues, "her technicians did not have time to get to my car." She told me she would have to reschedule for Friday. What was even more exasperating is the fact that she could NOT guarantee that her one of her 45 technicians, she that she oversees, would be able to complete the yet to be diagnosed repair on Friday either - but I should drop it off anyway. The entire conversation was extremely difficult & defensive. Evidently it is NORMAL practice to drop off a car & hope that someone looks at it & possibly repairs it.
