This review is for my carpets in my car. I stopped by and asked for something small that wouldn't be worth the time for most businesses. I only needed the passenger side carpet cleaned due to me trying to clean it myself after messing it up. They got me in the next day and did a fantastic job. They even asked me to come back in a few days bc there is a machine they wanted to use that wasn't available at that moment. WARNING DON'T TAKE YOUR CLOTHES HERE!!! They ruined my designer blazer and sweater worth over $600 retail. Neither had ever been cleaned before and they tried to say that it was like that before. Ended up with huge holes and missing fabric. Inside lining was shredded! When I followed up to complain and ask how they would address the issue, the woman who I spoke with was incredibly rude, accusing me of lying and told me to 'Get over it, lady!' and hung up on me after I explained to her what happened and expressed my disappointment and shock by their lack of customer service. I was told the only thing to do was return my clothes for inspection by the owner, which I did, and no response. Not a word. Owners seem oblivious to awful staff behavior and indifferent about how unhappy customers are. Read other reviews and note that no one mentions any reasonable resolution after a bad experience. I recently set up laundry service (weekly pick up & delivery) for a family member. Corry's made the process really easy, was super responsive to all my questions...and was able to pick up quickly. They did first pick up on Thursday and will deliver on Monday-all washed and folded. The service is very affordable. Zero communication for the pick-up service, and our clothes bag got lost I scheduled a pick-up dry cleaning service with Corry's cleaning, however, there was no communication at all during the whole pick-up process. In fact, our cloth bag got lost during the pick-up process, but they did not send any messages or follow-ups informing us of the failure of the pick-up until I ask them after two weeks of silence. The whole silence made me think the pick-up went smoothly, which resulted in a long delay of the investigation of the lost cloths bag - and we ultimately miss the perfect time to trace the lost bag. The whole process is like, after you put the cloth bag for pick-up, you get zero communication from them, and YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING about the status of your cleaning items. We don't know whether their driver really came to pick-up at all, or our bag is stolen or lost during pick-up or transit. They do not have any evidence of what really happened during the pick-up. The poor service and zero communication really amplify every negative possibilities. I know the lesson I learned here is to install a front door camera to record everything, otherwise, nobody would take up the responsibility. But really, DO NOT WASH YOUR EXPENSIVE ITEMS here. It's like throwing your clothes into the wild and they don't give a damn for it. read more

I have been a customer at Corry's for about three years and was pretty happy until today. I had taken in an expensive scarf to be cleaned and the area with a small stain was still there when I went to wear it this week. I took it back in today and was told that since it had been over 30 days since I had it cleaned I would need to pay $12.00 again if I wanted them to fix it. It was still on the original hanger with the plastic cover on it and obviously had not been worn. I pointed this out and the reply was, "Sorry, that is our policy." I guess I should have inspected it when I picked it up as it seems you can't be sure that they have performed a quality cleaning. I am going to look for another dry cleaner after this experience. I recently switched over to Corry's and was able to tell a quality difference. Have done some dry cleaning, but my favorite is the laundry service. I'm a mom to 4 kids and the best splurge I can make is having them come to my door twice a week to pick up and drop off my wash dry and fold clothes for my children's clothes. 2nd visit to the Union Bay location was a HUGE disappointment. I was assured that their "pleats expert, Chris" would give special attention to do box pleats to my brand new $200 dress. I'm including a photo that shows the dress pressed completely flat!!! Arrrgguuhhh! The box pleats were roughly in place on this new garment - just wrinkly because the dress was shipped in a box. This used to be my dry cleaner of choice, went to them for YEARS. However, in the last few years I noticed that my clothes would often have a reside and smell to them, then this last time I went to pick up my cleaning, and they lost my items. This was the second time that they lost items. The manager who was helping me was not very apologetic. The lady behind me in line stated that she had also had issues where they lost several items of her's as well, but didn't know where else to go for cleaning. I would NOT recommend coming here especially with items that are expensive or that you care about, as they will loose items. The manager did call me later in the afternoon after I gave them a description of my items. They stated they put the items under the wrong name, she even admitted that the items smelled and wanted to re-clean them. I declined as I just wanted my items back, but they still charged me even though they admitted that the items weren't all the way clean, and they essentially lost my items. read more

Awful. Simply awful. We dropped clothes off for laundry. They proceeded to dry clean most of them, racking up a huge bill. They seemed confused about why we were unhappy. They said they can't do anything different from the instructions on the label of the clothes... which don't call for dry cleaning. Also only mentioned this at pick up, not drop off. They said they'd have the manager call me back, then she did not. When I visited later, they said they could charge me for laundry but that it would cost the same as dry cleaning. Absurd. Also that they do bulk laundry, but "that's just underwear, socks, towels, that sort of thing". Again, this would have been useful information at drop off, when they accepted our laundry order, then silently decided to dry clean most of it. They showed no empathy, nor any attempt to make us feel better as the customer. Awful. Ridiculous. They need to go out of business, maybe an honest cleaner could show up. read more

The heat exchanger in our gas furnace cracked and filled our home with an awful smell, which was of course absorbed by all my clothes. Corry's took on the carload of items that could not be washed, gave us a quantity discount which really helped, and cleaned everything quickly and well for us. And then we opted to have our cars cleaned and detailed at the same location - and in one day they both looked and smelled wonderful. All in all, a seriously great spring cleaning! read more

Expensive, bad quality and poor customer service. I had a dozen shirts end up with holes in them as they pinned garment tags directly through the shirt material. When I called them about this, they first denied it, then said that they could try pressing the shirts again to see if it would fix it. There was no apology and no offer to repair or credit the work. Similarly, they charged $14/shirt to dry clean because "they have darts in them", without first contacting me to confirm that the dry cleaning costs would be 3-4x more than expected. Go elsewhere, there are many better dry cleaners out there! read more

Very disappointed with the service here. Firstly, when I walked in no one was at the front desk. I waited about 5 minutes, then took one step past the desk toward the back office and called out "hello!". Someone came out from another door and scolded me for not waiting at the front, even though I had waited for 5 minutes with no one there to help. I brought in a mattress topper for cleaning which they quoted me $60. They said it would fall under the category of a comforter which I then told them it was not, and they said "well it looks like a comforter so we will charge you for a comforter". When I returned today to pick up my mattress topper they told me I owed over $100 because it was in fact not a comforter. When I reminded them of our previous conversation they said something along the lines of - one of the higher ups saying it was not a comforter so they needed to charge me more. What I was charged was almost double what I was quoted and had I known prior that would be the price I never would have dropped it off with them in the first place. The price I was charged was almost the cost of a new mattress topper and had I known upfront this would be the cost I would have just bought a new one. read more

I have been with Corrys for two years. They always try to get the stain out. They know me by name and get my cloths ready as I walk in. I won't go to the dry cleaner near me. My long term dry cleaner suddenly and surprisingly closed with no warning. So I read reviews and came here - they did a tolerable job on two carpets last year. My goodness, no thank you. $50 for four very plain tops? And they all smell like a vague stinking floral perfume? Otherwise, they're undamaged, so if throwing money at a dry cleaner for scented clothing is your cup of tea, go ahead. I'll keep looking for a tolerable dry cleaner. I had three bad experiences with Corry's: 1) They charged nearly $250 to clean shear curtains that didn't even require pleating. 2) They ruined an expensive pair for pants and insisted I must have spilled something on them, didn't recall it and then it magically re-appeared during the cleaning. I appealed the bill to some phony arbitration board that represents dry cleaners and lost. I was given no reason. 3) By now I'd stopped going to them but my daughter needed a summer job and stopped by to apply. The counter people were condescending and rude to a nice kid. Corry's is great if you have an interest in working on your sewing skill. They returned my sweater to me with one less button, which was great motivation for me to take up sewing. Not only that, they told me where a fabric store was, so I could buy the replacement for the button they lost myself. Of course the fabric store didn't have a matching button, so I had to buy enough to replace all of the buttons... More sewing practice!! Then I brought my car in and they did a really thorough interior detailing and rug & upholstery cleaning at a lower price than the usual auto detailer. I've taken a few things here over time, mostly just for cleaning and didn't think much about the prices. The cleaning they did was fine as well. I mostly just dropped things off when I was at U Village. The other day I dropped off a pair of lined wool slacks that needed to have the lining repaired. They gave me no idea of how much the repair would cost, and there were no prices posted anywhere that would let you know how much a repair like this would cost. I assumed based on repairs I've had done at other places it wouldn't be astronomical. I guess I should have listened to that little voice in the back of my head that told me to ask them for an estimate. I picked them up today, and with $8.50 in cleaning included, my total was nearly $70! Are you kidding me? This place is overpriced and totally unhelpful. Apparently the seamstress will call you with an estimate before she begins the repairs, however, I was never given that option. Also, their "manager" didn't seem to care much - I'm assuming because they do this all of the time and since they're near UW, they get enough customer turnover, that they don't really care if someone comes back or not. Needless to say, I would not recommend this overpriced rip-off to anyone. I could have almost bought another pair of pants for the price I paid, and if they weren't the perfect black pants that I searched around for months, I might have just left them there. 2 thumbs way downnnnnn read more

We discovered some water in one of the rooms in the basement and called these folks. This is how it turned out: "Employees of your business responded to a request for assistance with a damp rug in the basement of our house on 3/22/11. After a brief inspection, they determined that removal of the rug would be the most economical solution and proceeded to do so. To our chagrin, we received a bill for $301.27 for what amounted to less than half an hour of labor. It turns out that your charges for dispatching a vehicle to a call are $211 ("Emergency service call: $85.00", "Truck Mounted Water Extraction: $85.00", and 1 hour of labor: $41.00). In the first place, this was not an emergency (we had made the phone call 2 days earlier), no water was extracted (the folks decided it wasn't worth trying to save) and I suppose we were automatically on the hook for $41 labor, even had they done nothing. In addition, we paid $65 dollars to dump the rug. I am sure that your firm is environmentally sensitive but I happen to be familiar with dump fees and it looks like a $35 dollar profit (in addition to the $ just to show up) accrued to your firm. I suppose we should have suspected that these guys are sharks (disaster is a very lucrative line of work) but it would help if they would disclose their fees before customers commit (in which case, I suppose they would lose their shark hood). In the event that someone was told "It will cost over $200 for us to come to your house before we do any work," they at least would be forewarned. In summation, they did very little for what amounts to around $600 per hour (not including travel time) which is a business without a conscience, in my opinion. read more

Two bad experiences here. One with bad alteration, mis-interpreted order and THEN such a huge bill I had to go back in the place twice to question it. Cashier was unable to back out transaction so I received a credit (great, I had to go back there to use it). Just picked up 5 items today to the tune of $60. We already pay massive tax here (8.8%) but this joint has high prices AND charges some sort of environmental charge which is ALSO 8.8%. That'll run your bill up. Customer service sorta sucked also.
