I brought the shoes I would be wearing for it and the owner and I agreed upon a length about 1 inch off the floor so it wouldn't touch the ground. She was pretty curt on the phone but I didn't think much of it. I came 2 weeks later to pick the dress up and when I got home and tried it on, not only was it too long and dragging on the floor so I couldn't walk in it, but it was also visibly uneven. So much so that my roommate instantly noticed it when I tried it on. I called and the owner insisted that I come back to show her the problems, so I did so. What followed was one of the worst experiences of my life. The instant I got there and explained my issues with the hemming, she began yelling at me. Literally screaming for 20 minutes straight as she argued with me that I told her the wrong length and that the unevenness was a factory defect, not her fault. She also claimed that no one had ever complained before, which I seriously can't believe. I can't express enough that she was literally yelling at me. I paid $90 for this hemming job. Once she seemed to lose her patience, she started asking me if I didn't understand her English. My parents are first generation immigrants. I grew up with "broken" English. The fact that she would start accusing me of not understanding her English and yelling at me instead of acknowledging her mistake really shows that she doesn't care about her customers. She also tried to guilt me, saying that my dress had a ton of fabric and it was so difficult to hem. Again, I paid $90 for this, presumably because it was so much yardage. She offered to fix it for extra cost but why would I agree to that. Again, I paid $90 for just hemming, not to mention was yelled at. Overall a horrible experience and I would never come here again. Edit: The employee's son called me and asked if he could do anything to make this up to me. He was very nice and apologetic but again only offered a rehem for 50% of the original cost, which I was not comfortable with taking due to the quality of the initial hem. It's great that they are a family-run business but I would still not return.

I came back in a week later as I got busy and was close by coming off work and it was not ready. The lady was very apologetic and told me it would be ready the following day. Sure, enough I got a text the following afternoon to come pick up. The pants were nicely and tightly rebuttoned. Only cost $11 which is less than I expected. So, if I inevitably have to bring more buttons to be sewn or zippers to be repairs, I'll come back.

I had originally gone to this place because of green dry cleaning and have been going here for the…read morepast couple years. They had done a fine job about a handful of times for cleaning other items (eg, Reformation dress and blouse, wool sweater) that I brought in for cleaning prior so that's why I give them 1 star. This most recent time I brought in 4 items (2 for repair and 2 for cleaning). They have let me down on multiple levels due to ruining 2 items, charging me for cleaning that I didn't ask for nor was informed of, and not having a way for these issues to be resolved in a timely or convenient way. Specific facts follow for these issues next. I have also included photos. First, they pilled all over an entire and brand new Reformation dress that I had only worn once and which was not pilled at all when brought in. The rep explained that pilling can happen in the dry clean process, depends on the brand and fabric composition, that they followed dry clean instructions, that they cannot fix the pilling, and did not have the ability to refund me. I had previously brought a different reformation dress in red of the same fabric composition (see pic), which had been cleaned and only showed very slight to no pilling, which suggests to me user error that warrants a refund (I would think they wouldn't refund me $225 for what I paid for the dress, but at the very least the cleaning fee that resulted in pilling the item entirely leaving it to look much much older and used). Second, I was informed that they had "rejected" to repair a zipper on a small pouch I brought in. The rep informed me that the seamstress may have declined to repair the pouch due to fabric issues. This is fine and possibly reasonable, but, they also returned the pouch damaged. Specifically, beyond the zipper not working, the seems are now detached and unraveling. I'm not sure why the seamstress didn't repair it back to the way it was in its original condition? Third, they repaired velcro on a Patagonia jacket, which I asked for. However, upon pick-up, I was charged $20 for cleaning it. I had not asked for this. They rep informed me that it is their policy "to clean all items for alterations due to COVID" and apologized for not having told me this when I dropped the items off; however, again she was not able to refund me for this mistake. Lastly, the rep told me that I could call back in the mornings to speak to the manager about refunds. I am traveling out of the country and have a work schedule that doesn't really allow for time flexibility for things like this. So, this additional step creates a burden on me as a customer. I hope that in the future that they can train reps to make reasonable decisions about when refunds are warranted and to be able to provide this to the customer without additional burden, inconvenience, and disappointment placed on the customer. Unfortunately, they have lost my trust and I will not be returning to this business. This saddens me because I had previously been very happy with the cleaning I had received up to this point and really do appreciate their using green practices. It's too bad it didn't work out but I don't want to support a business that charges me for things I didn't ask for, ruins my items, and can't give me refunds without my doing additional legwork at hours I'm not free even though they made mistakes.

Definitely continuing to come here because they treat my items with respect and care, and are very friendly and professional!

They kept on hassling me about my clothes and texting me for approval for new costs. The texting person gave me an estimate and sent me like over 10 photos of my clothes to point out all the stains and hair that was on my clothes and repeatedly told me my clothes were wrinkled and very dirty. This was unnecessary and made me feel attacked and shamed. Like WTF?? I just wanted them to clean my clothes not pick faults with me! Instead, they acted like they were taking me to court! So much unnecessary stress and hassle for dry cleaners! They ended up charging me over $50 more than originally estimated because my clothes were oh so hard to clean and so dirty. Despite going over the original estimate, they still hassled and tried to guilt me for tip at the end saying they gave me a deal. What deal? Your services are super expensive! The tone they texted me was just so very rude it's like they didn't want me as a customer. I never fought them on the expensive costs but they were hostile from the start. I ended up going back to my previous dry cleaners, City Custom Tailor & Dry Cleaners in Belltown. They are not cheap either, but a little less expensive and they are chill. Two very hard working women showed up and cleaned relentlessly, every surface in my house sparkles. The Corry's next to University Village butchered two completely different dress shirts, and while the owner (Corry Bakker) even admitted that they were significantly stretched, she blamed the shirt's manufacturers. I used my trusty Yelp app and looked at reviews for businesses located in both Seattle and Shoreline. I decided on Sunshine Cleaners in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood based on the solid reviews. It's helpful that they have an adjacent parking area since they are located near a very busy intersection and thoroughfare. I brought in both his wool peacoat and one of my dressy business jackets with intricate detailed threading. I was greeted promptly, items assessed, contact information collected, and a cost estimate stated as I was handed a claim ticket. I returned a few minutes after the stated date and time on the claim ticket a few days later. Note - I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need it expedited. Both items were ready on hangars and plastic covers as promised. The price was very reasonable, both items were undamaged and looked great! And bonus, without that distinct dry cleaning chemical smell I recall from items taken elsewhere years ago. Convenient, professional, prompt service experienced with my first visit!

This is a 50-year-old heirloom where each piece has a story, and it is an ongoing project. Given there were signs everywhere emphasizing their no-strinkage safety with cotton fabrics, I stupidity trusted it. It returned shrunk, each tiny piece slightly smaller and buckled, therefore not matching the ongoing work at home, and many pieces ripped off. AND the tiny stain still remained. I had a near heart attack. Staff insisted they could "fix it". I returned take 2, stain still there, but quick shoddy repair of ripped pieces and they (kindly) insisted I did not have to pay for their mistake. Then, I spent 2 weeks at home re-calibrating to the shrunk piece, and another week removing ruined torn pieces (some were over a 100 years). Lesson learnt. NEVER take a vintage piece to any dry cleaner! A month on, I was still working on repairs.

Took a stained sweater here to be dry cleaned and happy to have this place nearby for that as I just walked it in. Attendant, presumably the owner was friendly enough. He took my sweater and told me it would be a week which seems to be the standard at these cleaners and alteration places. He handed me my ticket and off I went anticipating a fresh sweater. A week later that's what I got, a nicely cleaned and folded sweater in a protective bag. It ran about $15 which I agree with another reviewer is a tad high, but everything's going up these days it seems. The work shows though and will totally come back for further dry cleaning should the need arise.
