I was dropping some clothes off and the woman behind the counter grabbed my shorts without counting them and I asked that she count them so that we would both know how many shirts there were in case of loss. This person started screaming at me with anger and a raised voice about my telling her how to do her job. I made the mixtake of trying to reason with her rather than walking out immediately. She said "leave my store." I gladly obliged and went down the street where I was treated very nicely as a new customer and actually was welcomed to the business. The person at Corry's should not be working in a customer service position. It was terrible service.

I used my trusty Yelp app and looked at reviews for businesses located in both Seattle and Shoreline. I decided on Sunshine Cleaners in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood based on the solid reviews. It's helpful that they have an adjacent parking area since they are located near a very busy intersection and thoroughfare. I brought in both his wool peacoat and one of my dressy business jackets with intricate detailed threading. I was greeted promptly, items assessed, contact information collected, and a cost estimate stated as I was handed a claim ticket. I returned a few minutes after the stated date and time on the claim ticket a few days later. Note - I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need it expedited. Both items were ready on hangars and plastic covers as promised. The price was very reasonable, both items were undamaged and looked great! And bonus, without that distinct dry cleaning chemical smell I recall from items taken elsewhere years ago. Convenient, professional, prompt service experienced with my first visit!

I got a ticket and was told it'd be ready by 5pm on pickup day. Pick up was easy as well, the skirt looked great and it was pretty reasonable priced as well (i think around $8). The employees here are masked, so I masked up as well. Only thing is I didn't get back the hanger that I brought it in on (it was one of the clip ones since it was a skirt), but they gave it back on one of their own hangers as well as a plastic cover bag. So if you are attached to your hangers, I wouldn't bring them.

The pickup and drop-off part of this service is AMAZING, especially for someone with a busy schedule! They scheduled pick up at my house within a week despite having a high demand for wedding dress cleaning at the time, and sent me an update about what they were planning to do once they had their wedding dress expert take a look at the dress. Their turnaround time was much faster than I expected and they even sent pictures right after the cleaning was finished so I could see how well it came out! I had not requested a steaming since I didn't have plans to use the dress again anytime soon, but they did one complimentary for me which made the dress look absolutely stunning and like it was brand new. There was not a single residual stain left and the dress did not smell like anything - it was just perfectly clean. The final cost of the cleaning was exactly what I expected from the quote and I felt it was incredibly reasonable for the amount of cleaning they had to do, the speed and very high quality of service, and the helpful communication throughout the process. I recently moved to Los Angeles and found a new dry cleaners down the street from me that charged me half the cost for the same items which was refreshing. I thought of this place and wanted to leave a review to warn people how bad this was. These people were hostile, defensive, and greedy. They kept on hassling me about my clothes and texting me for approval for new costs. The texting person gave me an estimate and sent me like over 10 photos of my clothes to point out all the stains and hair that was on my clothes and repeatedly told me my clothes were wrinkled and very dirty. This was unnecessary and made me feel attacked and shamed. Like WTF?? I just wanted them to clean my clothes not pick faults with me! Instead, they acted like they were taking me to court! So much unnecessary stress and hassle for dry cleaners! They ended up charging me over $50 more than originally estimated because my clothes were oh so hard to clean and so dirty. Despite going over the original estimate, they still hassled and tried to guilt me for tip at the end saying they gave me a deal. What deal? Your services are super expensive! The tone they texted me was just so very rude it's like they didn't want me as a customer. I never fought them on the expensive costs but they were hostile from the start. I ended up going back to my previous dry cleaners, City Custom Tailor & Dry Cleaners in Belltown. They are not cheap either, but a little less expensive and they are chill. This is a 50-year-old heirloom where each piece has a story, and it is an ongoing project. Given there were signs everywhere emphasizing their no-strinkage safety with cotton fabrics, I stupidity trusted it. It returned shrunk, each tiny piece slightly smaller and buckled, therefore not matching the ongoing work at home, and many pieces ripped off. AND the tiny stain still remained. I had a near heart attack. Staff insisted they could "fix it". I returned take 2, stain still there, but quick shoddy repair of ripped pieces and they (kindly) insisted I did not have to pay for their mistake. Then, I spent 2 weeks at home re-calibrating to the shrunk piece, and another week removing ruined torn pieces (some were over a 100 years). Lesson learnt. NEVER take a vintage piece to any dry cleaner! A month on, I was still working on repairs.

She was pretty curt on the phone but I didn't think much of it. I came 2 weeks later to pick the dress up and when I got home and tried it on, not only was it too long and dragging on the floor so I couldn't walk in it, but it was also visibly uneven. So much so that my roommate instantly noticed it when I tried it on. I called and the owner insisted that I come back to show her the problems, so I did so. What followed was one of the worst experiences of my life. The instant I got there and explained my issues with the hemming, she began yelling at me. Literally screaming for 20 minutes straight as she argued with me that I told her the wrong length and that the unevenness was a factory defect, not her fault. She also claimed that no one had ever complained before, which I seriously can't believe. I can't express enough that she was literally yelling at me. I paid $90 for this hemming job. Once she seemed to lose her patience, she started asking me if I didn't understand her English. My parents are first generation immigrants. I grew up with "broken" English. The fact that she would start accusing me of not understanding her English and yelling at me instead of acknowledging her mistake really shows that she doesn't care about her customers. She also tried to guilt me, saying that my dress had a ton of fabric and it was so difficult to hem. Again, I paid $90 for this, presumably because it was so much yardage. She offered to fix it for extra cost but why would I agree to that. Again, I paid $90 for just hemming, not to mention was yelled at. Overall a horrible experience and I would never come here again. Edit: The employee's son called me and asked if he could do anything to make this up to me. He was very nice and apologetic but again only offered a rehem for 50% of the original cost, which I was not comfortable with taking due to the quality of the initial hem.
