I recently visited Cornish Pasty Co for the International Supper Club UYE, and it was a fantastic experience! I started with the mushroom walnut spinach soup. It was flavorful and hearty, though a tad salty for my taste. I appreciated their up-to-date online menu, which clearly indicated what was out of stock--super helpful for planning my order. For my main, I had the rosemary steak pasty, filled with tender steak, roasted red potatoes, red peppers, brie, and rosemary, all complemented by a rich mustard cream sauce. It was absolutely delicious and so satisfying! To finish I split a banoffee pie,which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal--creamy, indulgent, and utterly delightful. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LIKE TO GET SCAMMED. Female waiter with the brownish-reddish medium length hair and blue eyes did a false tip after we left. FRAUD! She did not provide the greatest service when we went there on Saturday 1/24. Food was already out and no silverware or napkins. Gave one of us attitude when another waiter would come by because I told her it was my birthday. She also gave one of my friends attitude because he felt that she didn't deserve a tip. Food was a 6/10, the employees? Not so much. I bet you that she's been a fraud to everyone before. Watch out guys. Edit 1/30/26: seems like the manager is reporting reviews. Very bad service, my friend wasn't feeling well and ask for a water at the bar on Friday-Saturday Jul 18th. The bar was getting a water for us and some guy in bandana told her to leave. We try to explain that the bartender was getting us a water and we are all together. He then said he didn't care and begin to say profanity against us. At first we were shocked because we thought he was a random but then said he was security. He kept saying how we had to leave so, I apologize and said we are on our way. He kept cussing at us while a guy was throwing up next to him inside the bar and told his coworkers something. While leaving, the bartender brought us the water and told him how we don't need it anymore because we are getting kick out. He was confused at first and even told us to wait it out. While leaving, we complain to another coworker ( she was at the front and had lots of tattoos on her arm) and told us "that how he works" while explaining he was being extremely rude and impatient. She then gave us a side eye and left. I was extremely disappointed on this response while being polite and trying to be understanding. Cornish Pasty is such a classic staple for downtown Phoenix eats! My coworkers and I visited for a lunch a couple of weeks ago and I decided to try something different. I'm usually a standard meat and potatoes girly but the lamb vindaloo caught my eye. I ordered the lamb vindaloo pasty and a coke and was pleasantly surprised by how incredible this pasty was. I've had good pasty's before but the flavors of the meat and vegetables, the aroma of the spices and the flaky pastry were an incredible combination that left a lasting impression. I unfortunately can't give five stars because of the terrible shape of the bathrooms and the overall sort of dank smell of the location. We went to Cornish Pasty today for lunch before a Phoenix Symphony Hall concert. We had 1 hour for lunch. The waitress took our order. After 30" I asked when our order would arrive. She said it takes 20" from when we ordered. At 45" we got up to pay for our drinks and leave. She said, "oh, well your order is up now." But we had to walk back to symphony hall and you can't eat a salad while you're walking. So we had to sit through our concert hungry. Cornish pastry had high reviews on Yelp so we decided to randomly try it; we enjoyed the experience. Firstly I wanna let you guys know that this place has 3 floors to choose from, it's huge, and each floor as its own ambiance, amenities and services. The below ground floor is pretty quiet like restaurant level noise, you can easily talk to your party without yelling or raising your voice. The street level floor was the loudest and there was tons of space to sit at the bar if you like doing that. The top floor had a billiard table , and darts , as well as a bar, and a medium noise level where you can still talk as long as you raise your voice. It had a mix of bar seating and also private tables. We choose to sit there. We asked what was most popular on the menu (they said it was called the oggie), and then we also ordered what sounded good (chicken tikka masala). The popular item was pretty bland and the gravy wasn't really that good. But the chicken tikka masala was delicious even without the sauce, but the sauce made it that much better. Our friend also had the chicken tikka wings and I tried one it was also really good. We also loved the blueberry beer we had. I had to book 20 people for a Sunday dinner, and under short notice, Aaron was very accommodating and confident they could meet our dining needs--and they did. The pics made it seem like some quiet farm-to-table rustic experience. However, it felt a little grittier--but that could be from the worst choice of music to play for a mixed crowd. I was in Phoenix for 2 nights and ate here twice! It was an awesome recommendation from a client in the area. The Pasty is kind of like a pizza in the respect that you can pretty much put anything on (in) one. The Pasty is a great base to build yummy creations with. The first night I had the "Royal with cheese" (MF'er) and it was awesome! The Pasty was stuffed with a delicious bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions AND french fries! Oh ya, this was sooooooo good! The second night my coworker and I ordered 2 different Pastys and split them for some variety. I got the Carne Adovada and my friend got the Greek, both were awesome but I like the Adovada better. Now for sauces, most Pastys give you a choice of 3 scratch made sauces for dipping. I tried the house made steak sauce that reminded me of HP, they also gave me some 1000 island that was nice and chunky with relish. The Tatziki served with the Greek was really good as well as the tomato salsa that came with the Adovada. Usually I would be ranting about the beer selection about now and it did look amazing but I recently quit drinking. The bartender mentioned they had about 6 different N/A beers. BE AWARE: I like to come here for some beers and pool once in a while, but I was just there the other day and the waitress who charged me for my drinks actually took more of a tip then I had paid for. Left a $4 tip, and just got charged $10 for my tip instead. Also, two other friends of mine just said the same thing happened to them on that day when we were there, and one of them was charged a whole $27 dollars extra for their tip when they only left $6!!!! The downtown location is nostalgic for me. We used to go there for shoes back when it was Monroe's. Any reason to stop in this location I will. The upstairs is cool. The steak Oggie pasty is bomb.com as is the Rosemary Steak, the chicken patè, and of course the carne adovado. The scotch egg is also a favorite which consists of a perfectly boiled egg wrapped in sausage and fried. It's the cherry on top of a salad that with a delicious mustard Vinegar dressing. Title: Five-star food, one-star service. I've been a fan of Cornish Pasty for a long time, having frequented both the Tempe location (University Dr) and the Downtown Phoenix spot on Monroe St. While the food is consistently amazing at both locations, the service at the Downtown Phoenix branch is a different story. I work downtown and walk by this location almost daily. It's rarely crowded, and after my last two visits, I can see why. While the Tempe staff is quick and professional, the service here is incredibly slow. On my most recent visit late last month, we sat near the bar with only a few other tables occupied. The two women working the bar/floor ignored us for an extended period. At one point, I even tried to wave one of them down; she looked me right in the eye, then immediately turned back to continue a conversation with her coworker. It's a shame because the kitchen clearly knows what they're doing, but the lack of basic hospitality makes it hard to justify a return. I'd love to visit this place more since I work downtown, but I'll have to take my business elsewhere. read more

First time here, went with a large group for a special occasion. We had reservations and upon arrival, the workers were clueless. They had no idea what to do and honestly, were as rude as they could possibly be. They seemed very disorganized and simply didn't care. I had to ask for the manager to get an answer to a basic reservation question. After waiting for several minutes, the manager came out to assist and direct us to our seats. The lower level is really small and tight. Fortunately, they have a second level where there was more space. The ambience was kind of cool, just the downtown Phoenix flare. So grateful our waitresses were much friendlier than the workers on the first level. As for the food - the salad was fresh and the pasties were really good.
