    Hotdog with relish and mustard

We have been wanting to try this place since it changed owners/names. Stopped by on a Friday night. The place was a little busy, but still had some open tables. The service was great. The atmosphere was your typical bar scene. Pool tables, dart boards, a couple games, and jukebox. We started with the spinach dip with tortilla chips, then onto a Chicago style hot dog, hotdog, and cheeseburger. For drinks, we had a few beers, great to find a place with Guinness on tap, even tried the gummy bear slushy drink. Everything was great. We will definitely be back. Hope others will give it a try.

Misty the owner was thee most welcoming person! We walked in and were immediately welcomed with a friendly smile and great conversation! She really made us feel like family! 10 out of 10 would recommend if you like a family feel dive bar!

    Condescending "Owner"

Very unprofessional experience. Another customer mocked my mom and me, and instead of handling that, the owner came over condescendingly asking "what's your problem?" As we left, she even flipped me off with a smile. Another regular tried to step in, and she attempted to convince him to "her side." Not the way any old lady should treat others.

I don't normally venture out to New local bars... but my wife and I were out on a date night and dinner ended early but we weren't ready to head home yet why waste a good face of makeup...lol So I yelped bars near me and Hollyrock was like 1.6 miles a away! So as we pulled up we were a little nervous because lets be real all spaces are not lbgtq+ or poc friendly... be mutually decided we'll have one drink and leave if it's not a vibe! Welp 10 drinks later (collectively...lol) we were still there my wife was enjoying they game and everyone was nice. There were pool tables and I think a jukebox the bartender Josh was really nice and poured good drinks my wife had like a chocolate martini and it was really good I had skittles shots all night which were also really good! All and all it was a nice end to the night!

I personally love this place. They have affordable drinks, good music, a diverse crowd, and pool and darts. The bartenders are really cool and give me chex mix when I've had a tad too much to drink and need something in my tummy.

    Chelsy watch out for her..

Chelsy was a diamond in the ruff, she was very welcoming.Unfortunately she karaoke with you as promised. 2stars, don't ask her to sing with you

What's the protocol on football Saturday (OSU)? How busy does it get? Table availability etc?

I've been there for OSU games. You can almost always find a table, although the place fills up. They usually have good drink specials and a ton of Ohio State fans. Great service.

Everything was really tasty and well balanced, nothing too sweet or too salty. Our favorite was definitely the Pasty. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the crust was flaky and so good. This was our first time here and it was such a nice surprise. Cozy spot, good food, good drinks, and friendly service. We'll definitely come back to try more.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars

There is a respectful and professional way to address people without insulting them, especially when everyone was simply responding to what had just been announced. Otherwise, no one would have started taking the flags in the first place. He then walked over to my fiancé and forcefully ripped a flag out of my fiancé's hands, nearly knocking her to the ground. What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

All their soups are made from scratch and served with housemade bread. And while they have AMAZING pasties, do yourself a service and get yourself a bowl of Cream of Leek, Potato & Stilton Soup. A bowl of this soup costs $7.50, Vegetarian, and Available Gluten-Free (+$1). Imagine sliced leeks, starchy potatoes, butter, broth, Stilton English cheese, and heavy cream. How can you go wrong with this? Sitting at the bar with my friend, I didn't want beer. I didn't want a pasty. It was just this soup and me. When he returned with another glass of water, he slammed it down in front of her and claimed he was the manager. It was probably my first time being introduced to Irish pubs and the traditional dishes and drinks that they serve. Today, I was walking around near the ASU Downtown Campus and came across Seamus McCaffrey's. I gave it a try for lunch and enjoyed some tasty food and great service. While I didn't grab a drink, I'd certainly consider meeting friends after work there another time. I walked into the bar, and I was literally behind the bar where is was quite dark. Many of the bar seats were taken though I stepped into an area behind the bar where there were a number of open tables where I could seat myself. There was yet another room further back with booths and some creative decor, though I was happy with a table near the bar. The server came right over and made some great suggestions and introduced herself to me. She checked on me multiple times during the meal and made sure I liked what I picked. I ordered an item off the Traditional Favorites menu, the Chicken Pot Pie, which consisted of tender shredded chicken, peas and carrots smothered with herbs in a creamy white gravy under a flaky puff pastry. It also came up with a cheese stick. Both were tasty yet not too filling as I expected. There was a light breaded top to a bowl and then no bread on the bottoms or sides, but that was alright as I didn't need an over-the-top dish for lunch. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected them to be, it was certainly worth it, and I'll be back again. Seamus McCaffrey's opened in 1991 and brought a real Irish pub to Central Phoenix. It is a family-run bar that serves Irish classics and pub favorites. From Boxty, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips along with stacked sandwiches, burgers, and starters, the menu is not huge but still feels like it has a bit of everything. They have live music on the weekend and host special events throughout the year. The biggest celebration is its annual St. Patrick's Day street party on Monroe, a Downtown Phoenix tradition filled with great beer, great food, and a whole lot of green. Check out its website (https://seamusmccaffreys.com) to see its menu, upcoming events, photo gallery, and specials. The specials include daily specials, happy hour specials, and a $13 lunch menu. I look forward to returning again this summer!
