Yes, the shop is an authorized Apple repair center, however they have a sloppy technician. I took in my iMac, which NEVER had an issue until 90 days before my warrany ran out. I took it in and 30 days (yes) later they told me that Apple approved to repair it and when I picked it up 45 days the front bezel was loose. It wasn't like that and they admited to not being able to fix the DVD issue. I contacted apple because I refused to go back. It was more of a hassle than anything, even though they were the nicest people ever. I say stick with Apple. Cornice is probably great with older models, not newer stuff. I found them to be quite pricey on most items. read more

Great work! Highly recommend, fast and efficient, clear and concise, always guiding the client with several options and letting the client chose while also being willing to provide expert opinions. Economical and detail oriented - I keep having crisis events with my computers around various holidays and they still are able to squeeze me in and get my Mac back up and running and back in my hands promptly. Great communication and service. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Everything that was going to be fixed on my Mac was said to me before and after the fixing. Tim always provided information of what needed to be done via telephone and email. It's pricey but you get exactly what you pay for :) another great thing they let you decide for yourself if you want to go through the process. I had a brand new 2015 Macbook pro retina and had display issues like lines going across. I did have AppleCare and I was told online and from friends that it was accidental damage and wouldn't be covered but I took it to them to get another opinion and they took it in. Now it did take about two weeks since they were busy but I got a brand new screen fixed for free!! Invest in insurance!! Thank you Cornice!!!! read more

I recently was referred to Cornice over the phone by an Apple Technical Rep. in the Bay Area, who had determined that my iMac computer couldn't be fixed in the software, and needed a new hard drive. This was a warranty repair. As a separate issue, I also needed some data extracted from an old G3 iMac and saved. So I took both computers to Cornice. I had earlier called the Apple Store in Victoria Gardens, and encountered highly bureaucratic treatment--like they really didn't want to be bothered with fixing things under warranty. By comparison, the Cornice people were exceptionally good to work with in every way. Very competent, but also very helpful and friendly, which was important to me because I am a computer numbie. I also was prepared to spend a lot more money down there than I did. For example, I was ready to buy a new external drive to hold the retrieved data from the old G3; but the lady helping me suggested I just have them transfer that data to the newer iMac, as soon as they replaced its hard drive. That was a good suggestion that saved $160, and she could have made that $160 sale in a heartbeat, since I had suggested it. I was told exactly what the repair schedule would be, and was telephoned at each milestone for a status update. So I didn't have to guess whether they had gotten to my order or not, or if they had run into snags. Those updates were greatly appreciated. I ended up with my warranty repair done right on time, and at zero cost to me, and no hidden charges or ups of any kind. My G3 data transfer was successfully performed at the minimum I was quoted, although I had authorized a higher expense if there was a problem (and they could easily have said they ran into problems). I received detailed and correct instructions from the tech who was on duty about certain file transfers I needed to make, and he also helped me over the phone that same afternoon, telling me the exact keystrokes I needed to make, dropping what he was doing to provide that follow-through. I'm writing this review in appreciation for the way I was treated, and because I want others to experience the same. Cornice is the gold standard of customer service. I have rarely encountered a business with such competence, integrity, and warmth toward their customers. I have also used Di-No in Pasadena, and would recommend them for their competence, but Di-No is commercially oriented towards max'ing sales. Whereas my whole experience at Cornice was about solving my problem expeditiously, and at minimum cost. The folk at cornice are amazing. I had a macbook pro that crashed and they were able to not only recover my data, but also put in a new hard drive and battery (they work with Apple Care) for almost $800 less than I had been quoted elsewhere! Before sending your computer to some dot.com to get your computer fixed or to the apple store (who made my computer worse) check in with the cornice folk. Also, highly recommend their express service - for only $50 you computer is next on the table to be examined. Great deal compared to other locations for express service. I am so happy that I discovered Cornice for Apple computer repair service! I have a gift for destroying all things electric and it was looking like my little MacBook was going to succumb to my curse. I was prepared to pay $145 for virus removal and I understood that I may even need to just give up and get a new hard drive. I am sure that your average business would have charged me a flat $300 just for dealign with my neurosis and the psychotic look that I walked in with ( the look that only those who have lost all computer data can display). Despite my panic attack, Karen remained calm and she was great ... she calmed me down with her soothing computer-knowing voice ... Her adorable little dog, Gnarly did his best also to assure that everything would be alright. I dropped my (sad little moderately abused and surely neglected) laptop off knowing it was in the best possible hands. I was prepared to pay a fortune. I could not believe it when they called me back and let me know that the computer simply had a screw loose (and here I had I thought that was MY problem!!) but the last techs and another computer place had accidentally left a screw floating around that was pressing on the battery and causing chaos with my screen. I was charged only $50 ( the standard diagnostics fee) and then, Karen said she would follow up with Mac about a free warranty that I may qualify for. I could not believe it when Karen was able to a approve a FREE replacement for a damaged keyboard when Mac approved the warranty repair. WOW!! I was astounded with this level of honesty, kindness, patience and service knowledge! What an amazing team! I am telling all of my friends with Apple computers to go to Cornice! THANKS AGAIN!!! You folks are so nice and your service is amazing .... (and your dog, Gnarly is the cutest thing on 4 legs!!) I will be back ... with computer friends!! read more

These guys were amazing. I'm not a big Mac fan and I was worried when my HD crashed. The store helped diagnose my problem AND fixed it within a day despite needing to order a new part. They even cleaned and upgraded it to its original state. You may get discouraged if they put you on hold when you call but realize they are only doing that because they are helping another customer who's in the store. If I ever have Mac problems again I'm definitely going back to these guys! read more

When my half a year old MacBook Pro started experiencing problems with the screen turning green at random times. I took it to Cornice to skip the line at the Apple store. When I arrived, they had no idea of the appointment that I made the night before. How ridiculous. But that's beside the point, as these mistakes happen. I left my computer there, and they returned it to me the next day assuring me that they "ran every test out there overnight, and the computer is absolutely fine". As little as I know about Macs, I can tell that the problem is caused by a major hardware fault. When I took it to my local Apple store, they called me back the next day telling me that their stress test result showed a broken logic board. Turns out, none of the drivers were booting up correctly. Had I not been under warranty, I would have had to spend over $600 dollars out of pocket for a new motherboard. So this begs the question, how does an authorized service provider not notice a major fault in the motherboard? Yes, the staff was polite and friendly. However, the quality of an Apple repair center depends on its ability to repair computers. Their criteria of "every test out there" apparently did not find problems with my drivers not booting up, or that the motherboard is a lemon. In any case, I find their repair technicians incompetent. Bottom line: if your computer is still under warranty (even if it's not, I suppose), take it to the Apple store at Victoria Gardens. The wait may be long, but the technicians there are far more reliable than the ones at Cornice. read more

I've been going to Cornice for years. They have consistently provided excellent service at very reasonable prices. They are also very fast and flexible in regards to scheduling repairs - I've been able to drop off a laptop for a minor repair and get it back in an hour or two. read more

My Macbook air started having issues with the left speaker, making really loud crackling noises. I called Apple Care and suggested that I take it to an Apple Store to get it fixed. The closest one to me is in Victoria Gardens but then they mentioned Cornice which is MUCH closer. I didn't have to deal with any lines or driving out 15 miles back and forth. I called and they explained that it should be done in a day or two max since they had the part in stock. Unfortunately, it turns out it was the logic board so they had to order the part which added an extra day. I went in to pick it up today and everything was so quick and simple. Everything was covered by my warranty so I just signed and was on my way! I even noticed that they took the time to clean my computer! (I work with kids so it always has some type of glue or glitter on it). The front desk staff is super friendly and so was the IT guy that I spoke to over the phone. Definitely recommend! read more
