I had an awful experience with this shop and would not recommend them to anyone. They initially told me my car would be ready in two weeks (by the 9th), but instead, they called me 10 days early (on the 31st, a Friday) and demanded that I pick up my car immediately and return the rental for insurance purposes. I was in Seattle at the time and told them it was impossible with such short notice. When I arrived on Monday to pick up my car, they presented it to me for a quality inspection, but it was covered in rainwater. I immediately noticed a 9-12 inch scratch that was completely unrelated to the repair. The estimator kept insisting it was preexisting when it clearly was not. After running inside to check previous damage photos, she returned with the owner and finally admitted fault. Instead of properly fixing it, they tried to tell me they would just buff it out with wax. I made it clear that waxing wasn't a proper fix and that it needed to be repainted. They refused and became aggressive, yelling and arguing with me. While I was documenting the damage, they even put their phone in my face and started snapping photos of me--completely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I've never experienced service this terrible at any auto shop. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

No one ever WANTS to have their car in the body shop, however since I had to take my Mazda CX-5 in somewhere, I want to say I am extremely pleased with CARSTAR. They made everything super duper easy. They got me in very quickly, helped me arrange my rental car to pick me up from the shop, kept me updated daily with text updates as well as when my car progressed into the next stage of repair, and when my car was finished and I went to pick it up, they got me in and out very quickly AND handled getting my rental car returned for me. They were extremely friendly and efficient and helped make a situation that I was completely dreading turn into a very positive experience. What's even better is that they finished my car a week ahead of schedule and even cleaned it inside and out for me! July of 2023 I was in a fender bender, the repair work was fine but they 'lost' two control modules that were in my back seat meant for another vehicle. Called and went in multiple times right after the service for them to find my belongings, but everyone there made it out to be like I'm an idiot. So the issue I have with Cornforth-Campbell is simple: Why take in a still driveable car with a known GM-strike parts shortage going on? All this has accomplished is use up our rental car coverage while our car, now taken apart and no longer driveable, sits in your shop for weeks, unused. As "so called experts" in your industry, don't you think you should have known this and not stuck us in the situation we are in? Right now my accident injured wife cannot drive, without unbearable pain, the stick shift car that my son let us borrow because your poor projection and planning for this months known parts shortage bled our benefits to zero--all for an accident that was not her fault. You offer apologies, excuses, but not the customer service that we thought we could expect from your well established shop. I will never use you again and will divert others away, as well. read more

What can I say? As far as repair shops go, this one was great. My husband totaled my car in December and Carstar worked quickly to get things rolling so we could either get it fixed or get moving on another vehicle. Sadly, the repairs were too costly so the car will be donated to charity for parts. But they were patient and kind while I tried to organize a tow truck to pick up the vehicle. Fingers crossed I don't need major repair work in the future, but if I do, I'll definitely go back. read more

Before I started the process of looking for a body shop, I was referred by a few people to Cornforth-Campbell. I wish our office had gone there first. I contacted Cornforth-Campbell after taking our Sprinter van to another shop. The previous shop took well over a week to even give me an estimate and wanted a month to fix our van. When our van arrived at Cornforth-Campbell, I was called when it arrived on site (Our company is based in Oregon), then received another call two hours later, along with an email of the estimate and photos. Their estimate came in at a significantly lower price. And their timeline was several weeks shorter as well. Overall, I was impressed with many aspects of Cornforth-Campbell. They provided: Excellent communication, honest pricing, quality work, and they finished on time. When I came to pick up our Sprinter, they even had the parts on a rack for me to inspect. While no one wants to visit a body shop, I'm glad we found Cornforth-Campbell. My only wish is they had a shop in the Portland, OR metro area. read more

Hands down a great experience. It's always frustrating an an inconvenience when your separated from your vehicle for an extended period of time due. Especially when you have to repair extensive damage. I will say that I was very satisfied with my experience here. Not going into the details of my claim, they actually beat me to the punch and contacted me. I was asked when the best time for me to bring my vehicle in. Love that. It wasn't on their time or when they had a bay open, it was on my time. That set the tone. I told the customer rep I travel a lot and she was super accommodating and very friendly and engaging. During the entire process I was receiving txt updates on the status of my vehicle. I couldn't ask for better service. At the end of it all, before I picked up my vehicle, I told the rep I might be a little late due to my commute from Seattle....she was like "no worries at all drive safe see you soon". Wait....what? Sincerity? Care? Compassion? Yep. Nailed it. I pick up my vehicle, not only is the outside detailed, the inside was too. Y'all about full service. Such a smooth process. My car was sent to CarStar due to an accident, to start off they told us they were so behind they would even be able to look at my car for a couple weeks.. understandable.. maybe they were just backed up or maybe.. they are backed up because they do not know how to order correct parts for vehicles? Moving on, they finally get the estimate over to my insurance company and start working on my vehicle, couple weeks go by they call me and say they are still waiting on the grill, another week goes by.. they are still waiting on the grill.. another week goes by they ARE STILL WAITING ON THE GRILL?!?!?? Finally it's been about 7 weeks that they have my car so I ask them WHY is the grill taking so long?? Nick tells me it's because they ordered the wrong grill.. not once not twice but THREE times!!! Confused on how this could happen I explain to him the grill fell off during the accident and was left in the trunk of the jeep... so please tell me how do you order the wrong one THREE times?!?! I get told it was never in the trunk but I stated back that it very much so was, he tries to question me and tell it was definitely not but he will check with his guys. After that phone call I was beyond frustrated, I complained to my insurance company and finally a week in a half later I got my car back. Also nick did call back to tell me that in fact the grill was in the car but still did not have an explanation on why it was ordered wrong THREE TIMES..... I got fender bender weeks ago and sent my car to CARSTAR on East Main Street for repairment. It was a stress free experience. The people work there are very professional and know what they are doing. They got me a rental, and I don't need to deal with the insurance company by myself at all. They really took care of everything, and I got my car back last week and it is as good as new. They even vacuum the inside and wash the outside! Definitely great services! read more

These folks took great care of us and our truck! They worked directly with our insurance. They even looked out for us so that we indeed received genuine replacement parts, not inferior after market ones. We got our truck back exactly when they said. My bill was the amount I expected and clearly explained. I ordered a custom grill and had it shipped directly to the body shop for installation while the truck was already with them It showed up damaged. I had the new part shipped to them again. They whipped our truck back in and beautifully installed the grill for practically no money! I am extremely pleased with the professional and timely service we received and wouldn't hesitate to go back again if we ever dent something else. read more

I wouldn't even give this a 1 star if it weren't for the fact I had to add a star. I was in a car accident 11/4/2019 and was injured. It was the others guys fault. I took my car to this C-CS (within the week)on the recommendation of my insurance and review on yelp. I was able to rent a car because my insurance covered up to $1,000. Well, a few days goes by and we get text messages daily and then a week and we get notice by call because we called them them to ask how much longer before we get our car and they inform us of the GM issue of being on strike and has been for more then two months and obviously Cornforth-Campbell had to (and should of) known this and yet didn't bother to mention this fact prior to taking on our car because I could still be driving my car until then and getting to my therapy appointments accomplished and such. Anyways, my rental car insurance ran out and I was told by my insurance and my attorney that C-CS are suppose to supply and vehicle if the car is not completed in the time frame the shop set. Well, we were told they were waiting on a part to finish up. and that they were not at fault for the strike and could not supply a temporary vehicle to use and they apologized when my husband explained my constant pain and of need to get to therapy appointments 3 times a week and how I couldn't make those because I was in of need of a temporary vehicle that they could supply because again I need therapy and I need of a vehicle they said they were sorry but there's nothing they could do. When my husband told me this my response to their response was...REALLY?!? Is this good customer service and care for the client? No! I'm incredibly upset and emotional wreck because I'm without a car and I need therapy because of this incredible pain and I'm reliant on very "occasional" rides if that. I would say stay away from this collision place because they have no integrity nor compassion for their clients it's all about them and the money and not the client. read more

My Kia Forte was hit in the Safeway parking lot. Lucky the person had insurance! I was told by the insurance company to take to a shop of my choice. If the damage was more than they estimated from the pictures the shop would submit the difference. So I researched the place that if felt good about. One that looked professional. One the had good reviews. The best was Cornforth-Campbell CarStar. Yep this is the one. I called them not knowing how everything was going to go. I don't go through this ever and I will admit I was a little stressed. Brenda answered the phone. Oh my gosh she was so soothing and knew exactly what to do. She took it from there!!! Wow what a stress reliever. She got this! She got the ball rolling and in couple of days my car was in the shop. I even had a Enterprise rental car there for me. What more can ask for? Then Stephanie called me with updates! Wow it was like my car was in the hospital and Stephanie was the doctor calling me. Then after they pulled the car apart Stephanie called me to tell me the estimate came in more than what the insurance estimated was from the pictures. The insurance estimate was low anyway in my opinion. Well as it turn out the insurance company totaled my car. Yep I was said. I actually came out good. I had told Stephanie I bought that car off the showroom floor. I talked to her about how much that car met to me. When the insurance adjuster came to look at my car Stephanie told my story. I feel because of Stephanie I was treated really good by the insurance company. I well never ever forget the treatment and wonderful experience I received from them. It was really bittersweet picking my car up. Stephanie has them wash my car for me and made me feel better about have a salvaged title and how I go about getting my car inspected and it not that bad. When I left CarStar I felt great. I'm going to go back and visit them because they are so wonderful. I will never take my car anywhere else but CarStar in Puyallup. It's Stephanie and Brenda that really spoiled my but you know the people in the back deserve credit to because my dent looks so much better even though they didn't get to fix it! This company is used by my insurance, so I felt they would be a good match for us. But I did read some very negative reviews. Upon picking up my vehicle and paying them $1,000 in cash for my deductible (seemed they care more about money, two people needed to count it) I was not walked around my car for inspection.. Money is definitely their driving force. That is how I was made to feel. Four people in a office and no one can walk me outside to make sure that everything works on the car or that repairs where done correctly,I found that odd but ok. Get it home (I park in my garage) it does drive differently that I will say, but going to the store later on that night I went to hit the alarm where lights flash and the horn beeps there was no sound or flashing lights. Mind you I was emailed my car was in the stage of its last inspection..I guess they don't feel they need to make sure it all works. This shop had my car 3 weeks. It wasn't until I started complaining to my insurance company that I had not heard anything from Cornforth (even after emailing them, people keep a paper trail such as email)on a projected date of my car or even a appraisal.. They finally contacted me after going to my insurance company and complaining on the no communication from them. I emailed them about the alarm not working and no flashing lights but like last time they did not respond then either, so no surprise there. I suggest people BCC your insurance company so they can see your interactions, especially with this place. Would I recommend them??Nope..reviews do not lie. read more

My son's car was hit when he wasn't even in it, never a good start to a day. We chose Cornforth for repairs, which were substantial, and they were fantastic from the first contact we had with them. Talk about friendly, efficient, stellar service! They made it easy to get the car taken care of, they're affiliated with Enterprise rental and that was helpful, they made the entire process as painless as it could be, even dealing with the insurance for us. I had taken my car there for a quote explained my concerns and what I was expecting. They assured me there was no problem then made an appointment for a week later I dropped it off a day early then went back the next day to pick up the rental car. This was a 2 day job , on day 2 about 3pm I received a call saying it was going to be done the the day after next ok I understand holiday so today I get a call saying the car will be ready at 3. But our mechanic won't have a chance to look at the front end rattle if you want you could pay to have someone look at it and then we will fix it. Ummm I don't understand why your mechanic can't look at it " he's doing a frame swap" isn't this why we schedule appointments . So I pick the car up its dark and raining one of the concerns I had "moisture in the tail light post accident" haven't even been looked at now I have to take it back. The body work done on our Caddy was outstanding. The non-stop, aggressive, invasive and mean-spirited follow up phone calls, however, wiped out any pluses from our experience with Cornforth-Campbell. We received a minimum of 4 unwanted phone calls from an out of state phone center asking for our input. The calls were all during evening hours and when we declined to answer questions, the caller was aggressive and abusive. When contacted about the calls, the CC owner/mgr was understanding & apologetic but stated that the calls were required by CARSTAR. Although, he contacted CARSTAR on my behalf, I have had no follow-up communication from the company. Bottom line: Great repair work. CC knows what they're doing and they do it well. But, it's not worth doing business with CC due to their relationship with CARSTAR and the company's abysmal customer service follow-up protocols. read more

I have had my pickup repaired twice at this CarStar location. The first time, it was repaired well and in the timeline that was promised by Danny and Kurt. The second time- disaster. My husband was hit while stopped at a red light and the truck was dented and scratched down the entire driver's side. He stopped by the shop and they took pictures of the truck for the insurance company. A few days later, I received a call saying that they needed pictures of the truck. I drove the truck back for more pictures. A few days after that I called to check on the status of the insurance approval and was told that they didn't have any pictures of the truck- that I would need to come in a third time for them to take pictures. I did, for the third time (I only put up with this because they had done such a great job the last time my truck was in). The repair was approved by the insurance company and I dropped of the truck. The front desk woman logged the damage, both new and old and I got a rental car. About a week later, when my husband went to pick the truck up, only half of the side was repaired- the entire bed had the scratches and dents, which were very clearly part of the accident, still there and untouched. After some discussion with Kurt, he agreed that the scratches were part of the original accident and kept the truck for further repairs. When I went to pick it up the second time, there was a very large door ding on the opposite side of the truck- a large dent through to the paint. I pointed it out to them and was met with a weird silence. Kurt went back in the office and when I followed him in, everyone became really quiet and they all stared at me as if I had done something wrong. I was told that they had left the truck at Les Schwab for several days and that is probably where it happened. Finally, he agreed to fix the door ding. A paintless dent repair guy came and "repaired" it poorly. Kurt called and said the repair wasn't good enough and that he would call the paintless dent repair guy to come back, then call me to let me know what was going on. He didn't. At the end of the following day, I received a message from Danny saying that the truck was ready to be picked up. The following morning, I received a call from the insurance company stating that the shop had called them and told them that the repairs on the truck were finished and that I had not yet picked up the truck despite their instructions to do so. The insurance company said that they were not able to cover the rental car because the shop said that the repairs were done and that I had not been in contact with them to arrange pick up. I called the shop and spoke with Kurt who reiterated that the truck was ready, so my husband left work to pick it up. The door ding was still obvious, though improved, and paint was just slapped over it looking pretty crummy. My husband was unhappy with how bad the repaired door ding looked, but Kurt essentially said, too bad, go to your insurance company. Despite being in military uniform, my husband was treated like crap. To top it off, when he got in the car there was a half empty soda on the dashboard. What a total disappointment- when these guys do a good job, it is great, but that isn't always the case. I can not recommend them and I would never use them again. MY Hyundai Genesis Coupe had some body damage due to me going in a ditch. I had a list of places my insurance gave me for my region to pick one and I picked Cornforth Campbell. They did an ok job. I dealt with a guy named Danny most of the time I came in. They had my car for two weeks, no updates from AutoWatch like promised, I was told that due to my body damage, I had to pay more out of pocket for JUST my passenger door to be.painted with the rest of the car in other for it to match and blend in with the rest of the car. So, I paid the $97+ to get just my drivers side door painted. When I picked up my car from the shop on the 28th of March, I was walking around it and found multiple problems, a run in the paint (which they told me to come back and theyll do it, the bottom rocker panels has sandblast marks but yet the owner told me they didnt paint that because it wasn't damaged but yet, the sandblasting marks came from their shop. If it came from the accident. Then it should have been taken care of by my insurance company. At time of pickip, around 4:50 P.M. everyone was rushing to leave because they were getting ready to close. Basically, my entire car didnt get painted like I was promised. My insurance company gave them until the 25th of march to have my car completed and it seemed they were rushing me to get out of there duento closing time. Also, my car was supposed to receive an alignment to and my steering wheel is still turned right while driving straight. In shorter words, my car isn't the same like I bought it. read more
