My car had gotten broken into the first when I moved to Tacoma this summer for work and my friends were visiting for 4th of July. It happened Thursday night and I found out Friday night. Ugh! I knew I shouldn't have left a backpack in plain sight. Came back from dinner on the Seattle pier and found my window shattered to pieces. The quotes I received for other businesses were too high and many of them require you to come to their shop for replacement. I did a Google search and came across Dover's windshield replacement which is backed by Microchip. I called and spoke to the owner Eugene and got the lowest quote. I called dozens of places and he beat their prices. On top of that, he was even going to come to me to repair for no extra cost. Eugene was very professional setting up the appointment. He called to let me know he was running late and parked right next to me in downtown Seattle to repair my door. Took a couple reschedules but it was perfect! They came to my home and replaced it in a half hour! Most shops will have you leave your car overnight and I just wasn't comfortable with that plus I needed to get to work. They made it very convenient to be able to come to my house on a Saturday. Above and beyond...that is a rarity nowadays. Jim arrived at my place of residence within a couple of hours after securing my appointment for a same day service to have my windshield replaced. Not only did he completed his job in a timely fashion, he also fixed my rain sensor, tightened my rear view mirror, and even primered a pillar on my vehicle from rust (which was by the way, not in any way related to the windshield replacement) as a complimentary service. They take all of the pain away from having to deal with insurance estimates the pain of someone knocking out your windshield with a rock okay maybe I still have pain and bitterness they just got the job done for me. I was driving on I-5 about a week ago when something crashed through my glass sunroof! Scary! I put a call into Safelite, and also jumped on Yelp and found Microchip, along with a couple of other possibilities. Microchip came through quickly with an excellent bid, and came out today (12/18/2019) and fixed my sunroof in about 40 minutes. They were just great - I had a 2 pm appt., and Jim called about 1:40 pm to let me know he was on the way. I have a 2008 BMW 328i and she is whole again, and I most definitely recommend Microchip! I would definitely use them again if I have to (but hopefully I won't ever have to)! We called to get an appointment and someone was able to come out in 2 days. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. Eugene called the morning of to let me know he was on his way and to expect him in 20 minutes. I waited and he came when he said he would. When he came, he disclosed that my crack may or may not be able to be repaired due to its size (it has doubled in size from the initial crack), but that he will try his best. I, then, asked for a quote on a new windshield if it couldn't be fixed. The price he gave me was so much lower than Safelite. Anyway, luckily for me, he was able to patch up the crack. The job took twice as long to do due to no sun. While he worked, I was upstairs in my apartment. He called to let me know it was done. I came down and wow! You wouldn't even know I had a crack bigger than my hand. He answered all of my questions and assured me that it wouldn't compromise the integrity of the glass. I was so pleased with Microchip's services! My RAV4 was broken into on a Saturday night and I called them on Sunday morning. It was during business hours so I was surprised at having to leave a voicemail and figured I'd called a tiny local shop; I did not anticipate a return call. They called back about an hour later and the woman was very friendly and down to earth. She explained to me that the glass providers were not open Sundays for the particular window I needed but they could come out the next day. In coordinating times, she guaranteed they could finish the job by 2pm so the vehicle would be fixed in time to pick up my kids from school. So, when you get a rock chip at 7pm on a Saturday evening, you can almost count on not being able to take care of it the rest of the weekend. Having just replaced my windshield a couple months ago, I was super anxious to get this fixed. I spent a good hour Sunday morning searching for a place that could perform a simple windshield repair when I found Microchip. I called and Eugene told me that they were setting up a pop-up shop across from IKEA in Renton. He gave me the number of the rep working there and I was on my way. The quote was about $80 cheaper than EVERY OTHER AUTO GLASS place I have been quoted!
