My wife and I found this gem while visiting and walking through Biltmore Village, and it's our go-to now anytime we return. Brunch or dinner, ALWAYS amazing! read more

Apparently it is common knowledge you should make a reservation here for breakfast or weekend brunch but we were traveling through town and weren't privy to that information. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated because the 2 of us were willing to sit a anywhere. We were seated at 9:26, our server brought us menus and told he couldn't serve us alcohol for another 30 minutes at 9:30 so they can serve mimosas and body Mary's and the like at 10 am on Sundays. This timeline becomes more important in a moment. Seated at the small bar in a very crowded back dining area. One of many that comprised this old home turned restaurant we had no one on either side of us until 9:50. I know this because I went upstairs to the restroom, snapped photos and when I laid my phone down as the diners to the right were sat it was 9:50. The menu was not too overwhelming but when we 0laced our order at 9:35 I decided there were a few items I would have been just as happy with if I ordered and that doesn't happen often. At 10 am the 2 seats to our left at the bar were sat as the server informed me I could now have a mimosa. At 10:15 our neighbors to the right received their food. I sipped by BlackBerry lemonade mimosa with a bit of an attitude and was thankful for its sweet but not too sweet effervescence which prevented this gal from losing her cool. Next the couple on the left whom had sat down a measly 17 minutes prior received their food and I was displeased. My husband suggested obtaining the check and leaving. The server said the kitchen had somehow put their orders in front of ours to which I replied I understood it wasn't his fault but that he might delay to the kitchen that excuse might be somewhat believable had we all not been seated in what was clearly a very small server area, and the tickets went in over 30 minutes after ours so. That being said our food came out about 5 to 7 minutes later. My rosemary roasted potatoes were excellent, the biscuit was soft, fluffy and good height. Excellent butter balance and the homemade BlackBerry blueberry jam was an excellent pairing. My simple scrambled eggs had runny spots on top of actual uncooked egg but I didn't dare complain at this point. My husband had an omelette and every single filling was cold. Its clear our server hustled the kitchen up and our check had been completely ignored. About this time the power went off for the second time during our visit. The panel needs to clearly be updated. I will say the server and restaurant did make it right by comping one of our meals but I don't plan to go back. read more

We enjoyed a bowl of fresh made tomato bisque, shrimp & grits perfectly seasoned & cooked, & an amazing dessert. John, Sarah & Lauren made it even better with their bright smiles & their warm "so glad you came" personalities. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary & they made it a dear & memorable outing. We hope to see them on our next visit. By the way, take your time. The restaurant has loads of wonderful history. read more

Best Reuben in Asheville, and everything else...done just right. Excellent service in a quaint village in Biltmore that is worth the effort.

I like this restaurant, and so do you lots of other people! It can sometimes have quite a long wait. In my opinion though, the wait is worth it. Nice menu, eclectic surroundings, great service. Check it out! read more

A real "hidden jewel" in Asheville. The Corner Kitchen is worth the effort to find parking! The small plate changes frequently and always offers choice selections and fresh pairings to enjoy. Start with a soup course, fresh and hardy, they get your tongue warmed up for good things to come. The Ruben is the best in town, burgers always a great choice and the fried chicken is like your grandma wished she could cook. Finish off with the bread pudding, a fit closing to any visit! read more

This was a very enjoyable dinner. Our charcuterie board was delicious. I had a fancy lemonade that was really good. The server did an excellent job. read more

Mostly good. Lamb shank was good. But Brussel sprouts were a lot of flakes and not whole sprouts. The butternut squash was sweet. We sat in what looked like the inside porch with industrial air conditioning in the ceiling. Not the cozy house I expected. Maybe because we came early. One restroom is upstairs in the dining room. I had looks from someone when I used it. read more

We selected this place for a casual dinner after a long day at the Biltmore Estate. We sat at the table where Barack and Michelle Obama sat in 2010. I had the Reuben sandwich which was delicious. The meat was super tender and the bread perfect. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and he said it was juicy and delicious. The server was friendly and attentive. All-in-all a very satisfying meal. read more

Great place location in Biltmore Village asheville nc. Really good menu that changes seasonally. Great service and a really neat village to walk around. read more

This place was really neat. The house was in a village built by Vanderbilt. Vanderbilts engineers parents lived in the house originally. This is a nice restaurant. Kind of dressy. The food was Great. I'm not a fan of New York strip and would almost never order one in a restaurant. I ordered the strip because it was the only steak option. It was really tender and tasty. The mashed potatoes were amazing. If you're a history buff and you like to wine and dine your lover this is the place for you. We had our kids with us since we were passing through on our way home from a family vacation. They had a children's menu and they were allowed to with at the bar. The bar is big and comfortable and granite. They print the menu out daily and it has the historical information on the back of the menu. read more

The Corner Kitchen does it again. We enjoyed a great dinner here 7 years ago and wrote a great review. Well, we visited again having a great meal and wine. Our server Alison provided great friendly service. Sarah (mgr) was friendly and kind. Let talk about the food & beverage. Eat. 75 Cabernet. Really good wine!!! We started off with the Brussel sprouts excellent!!! Next we had the burrata served with acorn squash and garnished with pomegranates. Very good. The Burrata was a little too chilled for me. We shared an arugula salad with cheese. Great flavors. Had the crusted trout served with whipped sweet potatoes. All this great food served by Sous Chef Mikey! The executive chef took the night off. It is the execs. dream to be able to take a night off and hope the team does a great job. Chef Mouser your team did a great job!!! Tip of the Toque to your team, Alison and Sarah. A must try! Great breakfast / brunch spot in a great neighborhood. Our server, Zach, was also excellent... very personal, very attentive.

While spending a few days in Asheville we had many meals and our lunch at Corner Kitchen was a wonderful experience. Nice building in great area just to walk around and see the shops. The restaurant was clean and airy. Service was right on and each of us (party of 4) enjoyed our selection. Everything was done well and nice and flavorful. The only bad thing about eating at Corner Kitchen was we had our meal there just before leaving Asheville. Should have had it early in our visit and we for sure would have gone back for another excellent meal. read more

Stopped in Corner Kitchen on my way to the airport and all I can say is WOW! Parking can be a hassle, wait was moderate but all worth it! Food is very tasty and fresh priced moderately and Staff is very friendly. Space is a bit cramped depending on the area you sit but it does have that home cooked style experience! read more

Excellent food, perfect service, and enjoyable ambiance in a perfect location in Asheville's Biltmore Square area!

Great place and the dishes are creative. We had great service too. Would definitely dine here again. read more

Always great... I mean who hasn't come to Asheville and heard about this spot. Fantastical

This spot it always good. Sometimes they have a wait on weekends, but it's still worth it and usually fun to walk around and look in the shops while you wait. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor in a cute little restored old fashioned home. Their specials are usually really great and the perfect portion. Their a bit pricey so it's someplace we can go all the time, but I do love to come here on special occasions. I recommend their dinner and brunch - both are great! read more

Exceptional service! The food was very good as well, the seafood bisque soup, crispy brussels and Shrimp and Grits were all really good. The vegetarian entree was a bit bland., but fine. read more

Well it was good but it took a long time for service and there weren't many options on the menu

Everyone and by everyone I mean, the owners, chef, manager, and servers were all so kind. I was sitting outside waiting for them to open and the manager so kindly let me come in early to escape the brisk weather. I had already sampled their addictive chips in my Asheville Goods box a few days ago and went to Chestnut for lunch, so you can say I've been primed to be charmed. I ordered the charred carrot and miso bowl. Who knew charred carrot and miso would make a great broth? Loved soaking the wonton chips in the broth. Mussels, clams, and shrimp were aplenty. Absolute favorite bite though was the bread pudding. It was the fluffiest bread pudding I've tasted. It's as if bread pudding had sex with flan and this was their lovechild. read more

We had take out from this business, last night. I had a Vegan Tempura which was excellent! My husband had Shrimp and Grits. Our friends shared a Salmon dish and a Kale Salad and they concurred with our assessment of our meals! For desert my husband and I shared the Cinnamon Bread Pudding which was also excellent! The service was timely and our food was as hot as if it were just brought to our table. Although the bill was kind of pricey the experience was well worth it. read more

Pleasant folks in a kitchen that greets you as you seek the hostess. Open kitchen was hustling. We had a ten minute wait at 1pm on a Tuesday. Two other restaurants near were closed and the third, The Fig could not accommodate two people. We throughly enjoyed the corned beef hash despite my egg request for a running egg was not honored. They tried very hard to pleas in a cocktail choice and we had the best lemonade drink. I would return to the pleasant restaurant for sure. read more

A great option for any breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner. The restaurant is a staple within the Biltmore Village dining scene. If you are looking for a low cost dining option this is not it since you are sure to pay "tourist prices" anywhere within this neighborhood. They do get very busy during "peak" hours so make sure to book a reservation if you don't want to wait or are planning to meet a party since they require all members of a party to be present before seating anyone The business owners/management team pride themselves on sourcing menu items locally as much as possible and I would suggest checking out the sister restaurant, Chestnut, located downtown where Aston Street runs into Biltmore Ave(across street from Aloft). Make sure to check out the rotating daily specials and ever changing seasonal menu options. The restaurant offers cocktails, wine & local beer selections which also change seasonally(as they should). Staff are friendly and more that willing to help with special requests for dietary needs. My favorite menu options for lunch include but are not limited to only; Pork Belly Banh Mi, Salmon Burger, Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Pecan Crusted Trout, Sesame Fried Catfish or whatever fish they have on special...today they featured the chili rubbed swordfish and on my last visit I had a redfish baked in a parchment packet with seasonal summer veggie blend and cajun sauce. You really can't go wrong with anything that Chef Josh creates! read more

This was a tough review to write. So I will give everyone the bullet points and you can decide. Definitely between a 3-4 star review, depending on if I am scoring the restaurant overall, vs the food, vs the quality vs other x-factors. 1. FOOD: Food tasted pretty good. Calamari was better than average, they have adopted the spicy Asian flare which is nice. Steak tacos in a Sweet potato tortilla (Sweet potato chip), was very tasty, the salsa was amazing. Scallops main course was cooked to perfection, 2. Quality: portions are SMALL, I mean Small. I have uploaded the steak tacos, its 4, 2 biter tacos for $15 Calamari was small as well, and the Scallop entree was a good size Just pricey. 3. x-factor- Waitress recommended that a lot of people get a few smaller plates and then split an entree, which is what we did. Seemed smart, try a few things and be happy, EXCEPT there is a $3 Split plate fee (which I wasn't told about). So, yeah there is that. Probably wont go back. For the price and the portion size and the nit pickiness of charging me $3 bucks on my $80 tab. So yeah, probably bad management despite good tasting food. read more

An Asheville staple. In the most quaint house with tons of fireplaces and charm is the best breakfast deal in town. I've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would recommend all three for anyone who is in town. Even when I come visit for just a weekend, I always make a point to come by. The food is so fresh and delicious. The people are kind and prompt. The location and atmosphere is sooo romantic! I just love this place. Their biscuits and gravy are killer but I love that there are so many healthy breakfast choices here. I've had sandwiches and the fish plate. All were amazing! Check it out! read more

MEDIOCRE EXPERIENCE I was super excited to try this place, I have it bookmark. We went there Saturday in the early afternoon and it was really busy the lady at the front said the wait is 1.5h. In total we waited in the coffee across corner s kitchen almost 2h, for that we new in advance so no complain, but be aware of that If you plan to go there. 1- The restaurant is really cute and we were seated upstairs, clean, our waitress ( I forgot to take her name) wasn t very friendly, we got our menu, I was a little disappointed to have the brunch menu as I really wanted to have something from the lunch menu, 2- The waitress came back and ask if we have decide ( apparently for the drinks only), I wanted to order 2 kids menu 1st as they take more take to eat and kids get impatient very easily, she said she was only taking drinks for now ... 3- When we finally could order our food we decided on 2 kids meal, 1 small plate, the Filipino wrap. 4- Food took almost 1 hour to came out the kitchen, they should have bring the kids food 1st ( hotdog and mac and cheese). The food taste ok but between the wait and the service I am quite disappointed overall, even if the food tasted good Overall Food : 3 stars Service : 1 star I almost cancel my dinner reservation at the Omni sunset restaurant to come there. I really wanted to like this place with all the great reviews, but from my experience it was a big disappointment. read more

A good homely place for brunch on weekends and with an open kitchen. I had the bagel with smoked salmon while my wife had the waffles with blueberry compote. The smokey flavor of the salmon along with the bagels, cream cheese, and lettuce was quite pleasing to the tastebuds. Add to that, the brilliantly roasted potatoes and you have a filling meal. You can never go wrong with waffles for brunch and the buttery texture coupled with the sweet and sour blueberry compote tasted pretty good. The only downside of the place was the restroom which gave off a bad smell. Other than that, everything was fine. read more
