The sandwiches took 30-45 minutes to be presented...served one at a time...the drinks and dessert were forgotten until I reminded them. Found this charming place while searching for breakfast on our way to a paddle at Jericho. My daughter said it was "the way a coffee shop should be in TV". Sunlight streaming in and with good seating inside and out. Breakfast was blueberry oatmeal and a bagel, for surprisingly reasonable prices. Bruno the owner chatted while he picked up our plates and we found out he bakes the pastries and muffins his self, which is rare... I worked in a high-end artisan coffee shop for years and we had everything shipped in every morning. So you can see Bruno has thought of every detail and has successfully poured his life into creating this cheerful gathering place for the neighborhood and it's passers by. They are lucky to have this place! We will definitely be back to try more of Bruno's baking. read more

This is the kind of coffee shop for people who wake up before noon (not me). Like a neighborhood feel (me). And appreciate lentils (me). Two out of three ain't bad. Here, you'll find a clean, homey, and un-"designed" atmosphere for avid java drinkers. There are no modern chairs, no nightclub lighting. Just houseplants and a nice mix of bar-stools, small tables, comfy chairs, and outside seating. The coffee is not exceptional and the food falls into the same category. I'll give it a very good. I've seen some great descriptions of soups here but they are always sold out by the time I drop by (see my before-noon categorization). Baristas here are friendly and make an effort to accommodate non-automated requests. Although I get the feeling they wouldn't like the label baristas. Just a hunch. read more

I used to live in the building above Corner Cup, and I would frequent it roughly 3 times per week. I always got Americanos and not once did it ever taste burnt or sour (adjectives one might use to describe a certain mega corporate coffee chain). The regular coffee was very consistent as well; however there was about two instances where the drip coffee wasn't hot/fresh. This didn't really turn out to be a big deal, i took it back to the gentleman at the till ( who was the manager/owner i believe) and he replaced it with an americano. Very courteous(this also turned me onto drinking americanos). The rest of the staff are friendly as well. Even if its ridiculously busy (which it often is) they appear to be in good spirits. Which is great! There are lots of places where the staff get flustered and rude when they are faced with a large rush. I only ever got 1item off the food menu, and that was the vegetarian breakfast bagel. Which freaking ruled. Its a shame i moved out of the area, because this really was a great coffee spot. read more

Corner Cup is a bustling coffee shop on the corner of 4th and Blenheim. They serve some strong coffee. If you want a cup of decaf they will brew you an Americano as they don't make decaf by the pot. They also have a variety of muffins, scones, and sandwiches. I had a vegetarian egg bagel that came with red onions, swiss, and avocado. I wasn't to crazy about the microwaved scrambled egg, but I should have known better since obviously there isn't someone in the back frying up the eggs. My wife had a chocolate chip muffin that she really enjoyed, but that I found a bit on the dry side. Corner Cup also offers free wifi and also has a stack of paperbacks on hand in case you are looking for something to read while you enjoy your coffee. read more

I walked by this place on April 21st on the way to a UYE and decided to book mark this for future reference. I also wanted to add this place on my 100 coffee shops in 52 weeks challenge. They close by 6 pm, therefore, just made it under the gun before they closed on a work day. There is lots of seating. Busy atmosphere with mostly local notice. Very down to earth local feel. Barista was awesome and sweet and went the extra mile for me with my London Fog. It was 23 degrees, therefore, decided to have my LD on the rocks for a change of pace. The cost, with almond milk substitution, for a 12 oz was under $4. They only take cash or debit only. read more

This place is pretty hit and miss. I get a weird vibe from the staff; some are really friendly while others aren't into the exchanging of pleasantries at all. I've tried the breakfast bagel and it's pretty average. Not a ton of food variety is available. The chocolate whipped cream AND chocolate shavings on the mochas, however, are serious redeeming factors. They're also really kid friendly and have some books out and a little kid table. Thought I had written a review on this place, been coming here for years as it's a quiet, cozy corner joint in the more tranquil part of Kits, a tad of Dunbar if you will. It's all oak and wood when you enter: wooden wall planks, and oak chairs/tables, probably so they can churn the seats over lol. And unlike other coffee shops, this is a real quiet place...I've seen it half or 3/4 full and people really do enjoy their privacy, read the paper, or work on the laptop. Believe me, this isn't a place to have good conversation, how ironic is that! In addition to the usual pastries, coffee, healthy drinks, they sell mugs and water bottles, surprisingly. I always get the Happy Planet whenever I get the chance, on the road, I drink enough coffee w/ clients. And looks can be deceiving; looks small from the outside but there's a 50 seat capacity easy. Several round tables, a couple bar tables, and a big communal table in the back. A handful of sofa seating along the side street, and window action seating of course. But only accept debit and cash. free wifi, password is espresso but there's Shaw too. read more

After leaving the beach after another walk, we decided to stop at the first place we noticed. My fiance wanted coffee... I think he loves it more than me. Since there was free parking, we stopped at Corner Cup. They were quite full on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of people on laptops writing novels or working on school projects. I decided to get an Earl Grey Tea, but alas, they have just run out... it's morning... when you have a big chalk drawing of a drink that uses Earl Grey tea, perhaps you should have more of a supply. Instead, she suggested chai. I should have said no and gotten a coffee instead. My fiance got drip coffee and was happy with it. My chai had a weird flavour to it... something was off... no, it was not the cream, it was a different spice that didn't belong. I drank it, but threw most of it away. I want to go back and try the Classy Earl, but it's a long way to go to be told they are out of it. read more

A friend suggested this place to me because of the London fog. I tried it and was horribly disappointed. I saw Mighty Leaf tea around and I thought they were going to use that but they didn't, they used some random circular teabag. Red Rose? Yuck. So then my friend took it, and I got a chai latte. That was even worse! They don't even use real tea for that one, just syrup of some sort. What a rip off this place is. I went there to get some work done, and to add fuel to the fire, their wifi was really off and on. Comfortable couch though. I'd never go back. Wired Monk makes a way better London fog and you can count on their internet working. Food there is better too. Also, Momento is a great place for coffee and wifi--nice and quiet, but skip the food there. Benny's for food, wifi and Mighty Leaf.... there are a number of places I'd definitely go to before ever returning here. I wouldn't go back. I am so disappointed in the London fog and chai latte. Absolutely awful. I can't even say that it was "ok." The only thing keeping this from a 1-star is the cozy couch in the corner with the fireplace that I'm sure would've been lit up if it was cold or something. Never. Again. Sorry, Corner Cup, but you guys need to catch up. How does this ish fly in a place like Vancouver where coffee shops are of much higher calibre than other places like Toronto for example? I'd much rather go to Starbucks. Interesting for people watching though. It was funny watching the same girl walk by 3 times to peer in and see who was working behind the counter. "Not bad". Gelato was pretty good, with some sticky pieces from sitting around for too long. Grilled cheese was pretty good, with the right balance of salty and buttery. Some sofas needed some wiping, and (could have been just that day... but) the vibe is more retiree than hippie. But feel free to come and make conversation with friendly elderly in the neighbourhood who have genuinely interesting stories to tell! read more

Decent vibe, quality drinks, close to the park. Not bad. I bought a coffee here a couple weeks ago, gave the cashier a fiver for a cup of coffee which was about $2. Later that day I dig into my pocket to check my change and to my surprise I have $5.50 in change. I never carry change so it was all from that coffee shop. Somehow I got free coffee and an extra 50 cents. Not sure if they do this randomly on purpose or if it was an accident. I don't go to the area too often so I donated the difference... interesting experience. read more

Corner cup is the perfect neighborhood coffee place. It serves great coffee. My go to order is a latte. The milk is perfectly foamed and coffee delicious. They have amazing gelato in the summer. Bruno (the owner) know all his regulars by name. They also keep treats for dogs which I love. read more

Fantastic neighborhood coffee house if you are looking for a solid pour of coffee (cuppa joe roasters) and food. None of the pretentious attidutes like some other well known places. I visited the Corner Cup for the first time with my family. Just to be clear I am an avid coffee drinker and visit most of the coffee shops in this city. The atmosphere was very warm and cozy and so was the barista (which later on we were told he was the owner) We ordered a couple of sandwiches , drinks and dessert. The sandwiches were very delicous and made fresh on site, our lattes and Classy Earls (London Fog...cool name) were very good and for the dessert we opted for a Torroncini Biscotti and brownies. Also we can't wait for the gelato which we were told was the best in Kits. We were told that the supplier is Dolce Amore (Commercial Drive) All in all it was a very good experience and we will return next time we are in the area. read more

I like this place and the atmosphere. They have some of the tastiest cookies of any coffee shop in Vancouver. The owner is friendly and there is a girl or two that is friendly enough. I don't expect much, I really don't, but I do notice when servers/baristas seem put out by you asking for something or even serving you. Corner cup has some of the most unsmiling, sour, unfriendly baristas/servers anywhere in Vancouver, and some of these people should be working in warehouses, not serving the public in any capacity. The owner must pay very poorly to his staff, as that is all I can figure for why they all seem so unpleasant. I still recommend the place, just don't expect any friendliness with your service. read more
