Haven't been to the Corner Bakery in several years so hit the Pasadena locat the Pasadena location they were about to close and I squeezed my way in there at the last minute to get their cinnamon cake was so happy to bring it home so that my guy could try it and I've been bragging about it he had never had it and so cut myself a piece and it was horrible I couldn't believe it wasn't stale it just didn't taste like anything I want to read the ingredients there were so many freakin preservatives! WTH... I don't know if I just didn't pay attention before or if that's how it's always been made. But I threw the whole darn thing away! I came here over the weekend to redeemed a coupon for a free power panini thin, yes you heard it right...FREE! =) I was expecting to see hoards of ppl and long lines but surprisingly there were none. You get a choice of 3 types of paninis (applewood bacon, chicken apple sausage or veggie). I went with the chicken apple sausage. It was okay. I didn't really care for the sharp cheddar though. It was too bitter, bleh! I also tried the applewood bacon panini...the sausage was way better. Service was good and the servers were friendly. Prices here range from some things being too pricey and others at a great price. I came to brunch around 11am with my cousin Saturday. There was a good crowd inside (more crowded) and outside on the patio. I had the chicken apple sausage with egg and a side of fruits. My cousin had the chicken apple egg SANDWICH with oatmeal ($1 charge). The side oatmeal was a good size! We switched sides (my fruits for her oatmeal) =] Although, her dish was only about $4 whereas mine was $7 and it was basically the same thing except hers was assembled into a sandwich and mine was all seperate !!! The chicken apple sausage sounded amazing - doesn't it? I was thinking little pieces of sausage cut up but it turned out to be 2 mini sausage patties that tasted like they were frozen and thawed then microwaved. Didn't have enough flavor. Next time I am definitely getting the egg sandwiches. Lesson learned! Parking is FREE in the structure (along with Macy's, Trader Joes, etc). read more

Haven't been here in a few years and I am impressed by the Choose Two option. I got 1/2 Club Panini and 1/2 Mac & Cheese with a side caesar salad using Doordash. Everything was kind of cold but that's to be expected sometimes when having food delivered. The Club Panini was excellent; the bread was toasted and had a soft but crunchy texture and everything meshed well together. They used to offer a pickle with it but I guess times have changed? The portions for the Mac & Cheese were very generous but the dish was nothing exceptional. It was my favorite place as a kid to eat, and still my favorite place. The people are so welcoming and even making friends with the employees. I pick up my order and head home, just to find a absolute freaking mess! I had ordered two uptown turkey/avocado sandwiches and a pesto Cavatappi. Both of the sandwiches were basically just tossed in the container with no toothpick to keep it intact, so it was just a mess and all over the place! Not only that, both sandwiches were ridiculously drenched in mayonnaise! The pesto was a miss as well! Cold, and the taste was just off! I contacted them via email regarding my concern, but nobody even bothered to contact me back. Nasty food, nasty customer service!!! The wait was long to order, and the place seemed disorganized. There was limited seating and no one was clearing the tables to allow for ppl to sit down. After I ordered, I sat at a dirty table that hadn't been cleared because there wasn't another choice. The food took a little while to get, and I could clearly see that the kitchen was in chaos and too busy. There didn't seem to be anyone I charge. The food itself was up to corner bakery standards. My kids practically finish eating and I go and ask where is my food, and ask for an extra cream cheese. My food was sitting on a small plate, with half the sandwich hanging off the plate right on the dirty counter where they had cleaning products lined up. She said Extra Cream cheese is $1. I told her the cream cheese she gave with the order was barely enough to cover one side of my kids bagel and he still has another side to eat. She said we charge $1. I asked her if she can please give me my sandwich which was being remade, and she practically threw it at me. I asked if she can just give me one cream cheese to avoid standing in a long line for cream cheese. She said $1 and walked away. I stood in line and purchased another cream cheese for my child. Did not eat my sandwich, and she saw that i did not eat it. No apology or remorse for messing up my order, and I was not able to eat while my kids ate. So, as you know, a mom can't eat after the opportunity to eat is gone. I'm sorry, but if food handling is that bad in front of the customer, i don't know how that food is handled behind the counter.
