I don't usually like a mule, but this one had marionberry vodka and I'm a sucker for just about anything with marionberry flavor so I went for it. I was surprised how much I liked this drink, because ginger beer usually is far too overpowering and here it was well balanced with the rest of the drink. I would order this again, and probably liked it better than the bit of the Starry Night I tasted from my sister. They also have seasonal drinks and lots of beers and wines to choose from. It's in the Gordon Hotel, so it's hard to miss (except I did, because for some reason I didn't make the connection that the Gordon Tavern was of course the restaurant at the Gordon Hotel). Nothing was communicated regarding the delay, nor were we compensated at all for the wait. The behavior of the staff was not impressive, nor was the food. A nearby chain would have been a better choice.

It was my second choice as the entire dinner menu was unavailable. The remaining options were a burger, chicken wraps, or other types of salads. I figured it was nearly impossible to screw up a Chef's Salad, but they did. The "spring medley" of salad greens were dry and limp. The only exceptions were bits of romaine here and there. I ate the chopped up turkey and ham and boiled eggs, but just couldn't choke down any more really REALLY old salad greens. Hubs ordered a burger and fries. He said it was good, and so I gave this place 1 star for that. The view from the restaurant is spectacular, as the large windows allow a beautiful view of the golf course. There's the 2nd star. Beyond that, there's a bar on one end of the open dining area, with very high ceilings and bare floors. There was a small group of boisterous golfers at the bar and their voices bounced off the ceilings and seemed to amplify the sound. It was most unpleasant. Worse, the OWNER was among the worst offenders. (It must have been the perpetual glass of wine he made sure was never empty.) Our waiter was personable, and very apologetic about the limited menu. She offered an explanation for this by saying that in the wintertime, their business goes way down. I get that; it makes sense, but after having eaten at Mohawk Grill, it's going to take Robert Irvine to save this place.
