I was loyal to this place for a long time. Located directly across the street from Kinkos, Copy Central was the sure choice for small print jobs. Until today. I went in there with two PDFs, totaling in three pages, all 8.5x11 with bleeds, trimmed to size. After specifying this to the employee he nodded, handed me a yellow card with a time stamp, and told me to bring up the file. The file is brought up, and I'm waiting for about ten minutes, trying to catch someone's attention, knowing that the clock is ticking and I'm being charged for every minute spent. Finally the computer freezes, and I catch the owner. "What's the matter?" He says in a condescending tone. I explain that my flash drive is stuck, and that the computer is going insane. "Well you see, with these computers you have to read what it says. See? It says that you have to choose which device you want to quit in order to get your flash drive out... *click click*... oh, I see." Fast forward thirty minutes later, the files are being printed, incorrectly, somehow. The guy tinkers around with my files as I stand off to the side as I've been doing for the last half hour, asking if he needed me to do something. He just points as if I'm to stay put, and prints a sheet every ten minutes or so with half of the pdf on it. "Is it perfect?" he shouts across the room. "...no." "Ugh, just wait, don't worry." Twenty minutes later I ask him for a price estimate so I can run to the bank while he trims my prints. Normally I would be prepared, but I had a feeling that this job would cost me more than before, and I only came in with ten bucks (last time I had a job identical to this one, cost me $8) He says no problem, stamps my time card and explains that I'll have to pay for the 40 minutes of waiting time, because although I have not even be near the computer, I apparently have to pay to wait, too. Shocked, since this has never happened, I say "No way, I was on that for maybe ten minutes." "Okay, I'll charge you for thirty minutes then." "...what? No, I didn't use the computer for thirty minutes-" "Okay, I'll charge you for twenty. It's no problem." ...WHAT. I sigh and give up, and run to the bank only to come back ten minutes later. "You want a bag for these?" he asks, cleaning the counter idly. "What? Dude you said you would trim them down...?" "Oh. Fine." He goes back and starts to cut the pages, when the owner looks over and sings to him sweetly saying "Rememberrr, encourage the customer to do their own cuttinggg! You were hired to make money for the company, not give away free servicesss!" Knowing that I've paid not only for a shitty print job AND waiting time and really just wanting to leave, I march up to him "Look, I've paid to wait, I'll pay to get my prints cut. Okay?" Delighted by the thought of dollar signs, he smiles and says "Okay!" At the register I ask him how much for my awful, jaggedly cut prints, and as I'm about to fork over my four bucks (!!!!) the owner coos once again "Don't forget, everything is taxable!" and I watch the price increase. This time the print job was more than double the cost. I really wouldn't be surprised if they charged me for the messed up prints as well. Next time I need a job done I'll just go to Kinkos, at least I won't have to pay to wait. read more

I went in to get some documents printed. I ask the clerk how much it costs he says colored 79 cents and black and white 15 cents. Ok so I hand him my flash drive. he says you have to go over to that computer and print. I print one color and 2 black and white. The computer printer cut off the top and bottom of my document which was paper sized. When i went to check out he says $2.60. I said I only had one color and 2 black and white. Oh its $1 to use the computer. At that rate I might as well have gone 2 blocks over to office depot. Save your money. Got to Office Depot, at least they are friendlier. read more

copy central is the printer i've used to print anything and everything for the past two years, and in that time i have never had a problem. HOWEVER, after the experience i had today, i will NEVER go back. i spent 45 minutes waiting for the guy working there to help me after their printer wouldn't print my work. after waiting, and waiting, and waiting i turned to the other person working there. she blew me off, then informed me that it was MY fault their printer wasn't working, righttt. AND THEN they charged me for the time on the computer when i was waiting for them to fix their printer. NEVER AGAIN!!! do not waste your time or money! read more

This place has the worst service that I have ever Seen. The people are extremely rude and disrespectful and don't have any clue of what the word "Customer Service" means. Unfortunately out of lack of option I had to use this place a few times but every time I regret it even more. This place has the rudest most intrusive employees I have personally ever come in contact with. My girlfriend went to pay her $6.23 bill for using the computer and making a couple of prints(chuck e.cheese coupons for our 4 yo), the older manager guy took her $20.00 bill and made a huge scene saying he didn't think the bill was real. After loudly exclaiming how he was almost sure that the bill was a fake, he called over 2 other associates who were waiting on other customers and had to pause those transactions for them to take a look at the bill. Now all eyes are on us as they take off to the back with our money and left us and the other customers waiting for another 8 minutes before returning with our change from the sinister $20.00 bill,which he counted out to us like nothing ever happened!!! I've had several rush print jobs for theatre posters (11x17), and they have always been able to accommodate our last minute jobs and were wonderful on getting proofs to us in a timely manner. And of course the final product was great. Not sure about other locations, but the folks at this one are friendly and helpful. read more

Half of my scans didn't come out so I had to redo them which was annoying in itself. Staff also has a major attitude. First and last time going there. Perhaps one of the different locations has better staff who don't belittle you and make you feel stupid when you don't know how to use their computers and equipment. Especially the guy with the glasses...fire that one. read more

I had time sensitive documents to fax and I called Copy Central and this nice lady named Carolina gave me the cheapest quote over the phone and the best part was that when I logged into my email using their computers to print the paperwork they didn't charge me to utilize their computer. Worst place ever. So hard to communicate to the woman there. She printed so many mistakes and made me pay for it. I had to wait for 3 something hours for 44 pages print job. And there was mistakes and she was blaming me that it was my file when its not. Cuz the same file was printed at another printing place. I paid a total of $90 for everything. The colors were messed up too and she moved around my files and over charges for cutting. This is the worst place. Don't ever go here! The woman is a bitch! read more

Very BAD! The employer who was helping was A Pilipino with glasses he was very rude to me and was angry because he couldn't talk with some older Asian woman while on the job! After a year of living in SF and I still go to this store just to check out that Blondie behind the counter. I sort of stalk him. I even know where he lives. He is so friendly to the customers and so dedicated to his job. Sometimes he's even there was early as 9 am. It's Crazy!! I don't know how someone can wake up so early. I had a VERY hard time finding a good printer in SF that was open on the weekends. I needed a professional job for my work and Kinko's never cuts it. I found Copy Central on Yelp because it was one of the only places open weekends. Not only were they extremely helpful and fast, the quality was great. Copy Central in San Francisco is a True Original. I've been a client of Copy Central for many years, and they do business the old-fashioned way. By that I don't mean they are not hip and up to date. But they do great work, always make sure the customer is happy, and they treat customers like friends they care about. Every job they've done for me is absolutely perfect. absolutely the most pathetic excuse for a business I have ever seen. Staff is basically retarted. They have no social skills whatsoever and are extremely rude. They are lazy, incompetent, do not know how to follow instructions. The manager Mike Roche is one of the rudest people I have met in awhile. I went to this store because my work thought we had a poster made by them. Turns out I was given the wrong information, we are human it happens. I walked in and asked if they had anything under my works name or under the name of the person it was ordered by. I explained I was just the messenger and I wish I had more info. The guy that helped me looked and couldn't find it. He asked what it was and I said a poster. He says it look like there are no posters here let me ask if anyone knows anything. Before he can turn around Mike the manager throws his hands up and says very loudly in my direction," I have no emails, no phone calls, not anything from your company!!", " we have NEVER dealt with your company so I don't know what to tell you!". I stood there kind of awe struck and looked at the gentlemen that was helping me. He too looked like a deer in headlights. I told him hay no big deal I will ask my manager. I called my boss she said she thought it was the place she could be mistaken, ask if its under her name and then just leave no big deal. I walk in and ask if they can check under a diff name, the manager mike again, even though he was just in the back , not helping customers, says loudly, " we don't have anything from your company what don't you understand about that, besides you aren't even from this area!". The guy that helped me stepped in and said, "yes they do actually, they just opened up the street." The guy Mike doesn't apologize or even look at me, he rolls his eyes and just mumbles. I thank the guy for looking and leave. I understand that you work at a copy place and may have other things to do but customer service is always first. So you may hate your job don't take it out on me when I was super nice to begin with. Needless to say my company will never go back to this place and I warn everyone not to go in. read more

Went here to try to print a Christmas present for my family. The place was over flowing with AA students trying to print their final projects. I understand that they were busy and had a lot of customers, but I could not get a single person to give me enough of their time to answer my questions so I could print. I wanted an estimate for the total cost of the book and the guy just laughed at me. When I stood my ground he said he had too many people to help. For a final product that would cost at least $30 per copy I couldn't believe he wouldn't give me an estimate. When he finally started breaking it down, he said there was a $1 minimum charge to use the computer. When I asked why I needed to use the computer since I brought my own, he laughed again and said everyone does. Good thing I thought to ask! The entire experience (with multiple sales people) was very negative and every person was extremely condescending. I stopped him in the middle of his condescending spiel having heard enough and headed for Kinkos. read more
