The next morning when I was already in San Francisco, and ready to pick up, I had a few more documents to print. I called to make sure this was ok. I could tell Mike was busy, but he said "no problem, use the link I sent yesterday, and come on down, your large project is ready and these other documents will be ready when you get here." I had the BEST experience! I was on my way to an awards gala, and my company was donating two grand prizes. I was running beyond late, and still hadn't printed the certificates that I needed. I called, spoke to the nicest guy (Mike, I think?) and explained my issue to him. I emailed my documents to him, and he selected the prettiest card stock and had them printed by the time I got there 5 minutes later! When I walked in, there was a huge line and I stared panicking, but Mike saw me and asked "Are you Kayla?!" He had my items bagged, rung up, I swiped my card and ran out in literally zero minutes. Everything here is so easy. No matter what I bring in, everyone tells me "no problem." I have never been given an attitude. Photos, complicated binders with 20 tabs of crap - some pages single sided, some pages double sided ... you name it, they copy it. Always quick and at a fair price. Of all the tasks of my work day -- Copy Central is by far the easiest thing for me to tick off. I love that I can drop off things with just my name, and then pick it up a few hours later. No need to do a ton of forms. Easy, breezy. "Copy Mike" the manager (the guy who is always in the corner with a Hawaiian shirt on) manages to find the nicest, most helpful people to hire. That's probably why Copy Central needed a bigger space around the corner from their original office, while their competition is downsizing or closing up entirely. I love Copy Central. This is the worst service I've ever had ！！Dec, 10th afternoon. An old guy started yelling at me after i asked him to help me with binding some papers. I know you were busy, and I didn't ask you to help me right away - I just asked you to do it for me after you finished up with other things. He yelled "Stand over there! I'll help you later". I started asking him another question, but he screamed at me again without letting me finish my question. His voice became louder and louder with each word. I don't care if you have thousands of customers passing through your doors every month - so what? Other stores have millions of customers pass through, and they still provide friendly service to customers. Not like you. If you want to lose your job or let your store go out of business, just keep doing this. I will never forget this experience. and I will tell my friends to avoid your store like the plague. After months of procrastinating, I only had one day to print out a really small, personal project and was having difficulty finding a place downtown that wasn't solely for business use. Having used Copy Central's Berkeley branch during college, I remembered them as being very helpful, a necessity since I know very little about computers and formatting. This branch apparently does not share the same values and I was alerted that it is not their job to help me... Wanting to make sure they could do a same day project, I called to ask if I could print a larger color document, but print it tiled. The man assured me that it wouldn't be a problem at all to print this from a downloadable file. Feeling positive, I decided to head in. I walk in and there is only one worker assisting another lady. I'm not greeted or anything but I wait patiently for my turn. He finally looks at me and I explain that I called earlier and need to print something. He tells me I have to use the self-service station and there's some nominal fee for using the computer. Cool, would've been nice to know when I was on the phone, but sure I get it. I head over to the computer and download my files and try to print tiled, but it's not previewing right. At this point I go up to wait for him as he is now assisting another customer (and, yes, I was a little rude and interrupted him, but, hello, I'm apparently paying per minute for use of the computer). He comes over and tells me I have to open the document in Adobe and not print from the website and I ask about printing tiled (as I've never done that before) and he raises his voice a little to alert me that he has a customer to deal with and it is not in his job description teach me how to do that. I say well it would've been nice to know about this over the phone to which he replies that if I wanted his help I should have done an order and not used self-service and stalks over to the other customer. I mean, I would've been willing to do an order (in fact that's what I assumed I would do when I originally called), but it wasn't offered; he told me I had to use the self service. So, at this point I left. I'm a smart girl; I could have Google searched and figured out how to print tiled. I mean he does this for a living, but if it's against policy to help customers, then sure I could do my research. But, I didn't appreciate being talked down to and treated like I was stupid and a nuisance. So, yeah, I didn't want to give them any business at all even just the $10 my project would have been. Never coming back, and I suggest others stay away as well. I probably would have found better service at a Staples than at Copy Central, which specializes in making copies.... read more

There was only one person could help and he's so reluctant and rude, probably because I'm not a "big" client, he was so unorganized and warning me don't mess up with their sample papers. I said something wrong about my binding method and he gave me a shittiest face. So yea, they think everyone should know the process and knowledge of professional printing and binding so that they do not need to explain to you, yea, they are so inpatient. Very rude!! There is one employee that doesn't even try to hide the fact that he is frustrated with customers. He's quite condescending when he talks to you and acts like the world owes him something. 20-something year old that can't learn to do his job more pleasantly (or at least fake it). The customer service here is nonexistent and you'll probably pay more money for using the computers (even though you're actually waiting to print, they still charge!!) than to actually print. I love this place and I hope they never move or go out of business. 1) They have great customer service. I email them my file, tell them exactly what I need so no mistakes are made, then I call to confirm. That's it; it's done. Nice and easy! One time someone called me just to confirm that I picked up my order and to make sure my order wasn't overlooked. How great is that? 2) Turn around time is great. I'm not waiting forever for a few sheets to be printed. I know there might be a queue of other jobs before me but I still get what I need in a timely manner. 3) The print job looks good. I do a lot of invitations and the work here is pretty spot on. I use them over and over again. 4) They let me bring my own specialty paper. Maybe I want to bring in chartreuse or salmon colored paper to match a theme. They let me do that here. Kinkos is stupid because they won't let me even bring in paper that is intended to be printed on. I have no problem here at CC. 5) It's not crazy expensive. I used to go to a printing place on California St. near Pac Heights and while their work was good I felt like I paid 3-4x more than what I should have. The pricing here is fair. Seriously. I can't say enough good things about Copy Central. Came in three times the past week and each time was seamless. Mike was extremely helpful with a small project that needed some tweaking. He patiently explained the various printing options, helped me with test prints and then magically made the color image look better when I didn't even realize it could! I couldn't be happier. Copy Central sure has good quality papers, printing machine, and supplies. The only pity thing is some of the staffs are unprofessional while they're making customers' printing work, such as portfolios. I used to print my portfolio at copy central and like the quality they made. Today, one of the staff who helps me printing out my art portfolio just randomly binding my papers without checking if the page is aligned. Also my back cover paper has tiny stain and wrinkle. If people don't notice these details, it shouldn't be a big deal. However I believe the staffs definitely should be aware this minute details especially they help people or many art students print out their files and portfolios almost every day! read more

This is the worst place to trim your work. I have tried three time with them and no of them really trim well, either one of side it totally off the line or they trim the wrong size. I always come here to print because of the price and the quality. But I would do as much self service as I can in this store. The customer service is the worst. I remember I came to the store during busy hours. It was a total chaos; they gave us queue number which I didn't even know what it was for. One guy came in and asked whether they can print with vellum paper, and the employee just told him straight to the face, "No" and walked away. When I called the other day to ask about their hours, the lady was very friendly. But when I actually went today, the guy who worked there was the total opposite. He looked at us from the back of the store for a while, and continued to sit and probably work. After a while he came over to ask if we needed help. His work attitude was very dull and careless. But then again, I'd probably wouldn't be the most cheerful employee at a printing place when its past 9pm either. Now I don't know how much other places charges for faxes, but including tax it was $2.71 and no receipt (not that I mind). He just calculated in his mind and told me. But the overall experience wasn't the greatest. I'll give the place a 3 star for being open until 10pm. read more

Expensive as hell if you are just here for a quick copy/scan/fax. I paid multiple dollars to scan done document and about the same a week later to fax a single document. I get that these guys mainly do bulk jobs, but I don't understand why they gouge small jobs like this! I would have been happy to come back if the price had been low for my small jobs -- only makes sense since they cost pennies to the shop. read more

I've never really had a bad experience here. Even when it's super busy they try to get to you as quick as possible. Prices are really good also. Service is really good and fast. I had them bind a few books for me and it was done in like 2 days, and that was towards the end of a semester where everyone and their mom was getting something bound. The only slip up I've had was some tracing paper was bound on the wrong side of a process book; I called them up, they apologized for the error and fixed it on the spot. My fiance had them print about 50 business cards and they were done in a little over a day. Totally recommend them. Haven't been to the other locations, but this one is really good. read more

The quality of their work is good for what I've used them for, printing essays dued in 30minutes, binding an assignment, and printing images on papers I bring in. They do offer decent customer service sometimes,once in a while you may have to wait a while or deal with an asshole. Especially this one douchey hipster wannabe guy, he was rude and snarky to me for no reason when I came in early to ask if my binding was finished yet. Excellent customer service! I found Copy Central via Yelp and sent them a quote request. Mike at Copy Central wrote me back the next day. He was the only one out of at least 10 other copy places that understood what I was trying to do, and he did a great job with it. Turnaround was 24 hours and the price was right. The quality of work was excellent and my colleagues were very happy with the print job. Mike was very responsive via email and got back to me quickly every single time. Overall service was great, couple of hiccups... but never-less great service! Mike has excellent CS and very professional! Now here's my story: Recently had a 3 packets of paper to be copied... Asked for each packet to be separate when done-- No problem 2:30? --Sure Had a colleague pick up packet ~ 2:40ish -- wasn't ready :( Actually done time 2:45 -- Not bad at all, but still late... Colleague got back, packets are separate good sign! Copy in one pile.... not good, looks like it's in order, but now I will have to spend extra time double checking :( Called back spoke to Mike, very apologetic, offered some store credit, agrees that if the papers come in as packets copies should come back out as packets... wasn't too happy told him I wouldn't use Copy Central anymore (must of have blindsided with my comment). Left the phone call feeling a bit bitter... Not even 5 mins later Mike called back. He noticed they had an original left in machine and offered a substantial discount for the work done. He admitted I caught him off guard in the previous conversation. Very surprised to hear back, (guess i'm used to bad CS eg.could have shredded the original), also the discount was one that I even felt guilty taking.. Our organization is based in Los Angeles and had a massive print job to do for an event we were hosting in San Fran. Our print job required several 24x34 foam poster boards and hundreds of postcards and one page documents. To help complicate things we weren't able to finalize the graphics until the day before we needed the materials. Mike (manager) and his amazing team worked with us diligently to ensure our job got done and even took time out to call us back to double check that we had submitted the final version of everything we needed. Excellent location. Decent number of computer terminals for internet access with a cheaper rate per minute than FedEx Office/Kinkos although the San Francisco Academy of Art students may tie up many of the computers when it is close to midterm and final exam project time. Friendly staff. read more

Hmm I expected better customer service compared to the FedEx/Kinko's across the street. Neither have left me impressed. Guess I'll stick to online printing where they have more selection and options, and are more user friendly than being "helped" by some of their socially awkward employees. I had such a good experience here that this will definitely be my go to copy/print center. I'm so used to going to the fed ex office where the people are reluctant to help you, and don't really seem to know what they are doing. I arrived here only 30 minutes before closing and they helped me out and did everything for me. Not only did they do exactly what I asked for but the prices are so cheap I thought they made a mistake. It was only $16.00 to use their computer, print things in color, enlarge things, reduce things, then ultimately bind it all together in a book with a plastic cover sheet.
