Incompetent and unpleasant. After three tries still couldn't get my fairly simple print job done right (despite very clear instructions via email). I had to print 15 black-and-white pages from a flash drive. It was empty when I went in on a Tuesday evening, so I was in and out in less than five minutes. I took off two stars for slightly deceptive pricing that I found odd. While it was only 10 cents to print a page, they also said there's a minimum of $1 charge for using the computer, which I needed to open the files from my flash drive. So 15 b/w pages printed cost $1.50 for the pages, $1 for the couple minutes of computer use, plus 9% tax, for a total of $2.73, or about 18 cents per page. Talk about hidden fees! read more

I have been going to Copy Central for years and wanted to commend the owner and staff for their calm, skill, good humor and professionalism. The staffers have been very kind to me and my children (and pooch), asking if the kids or dog want a drink of water on hot days, allowing us to make a quick call if we've forgotten the cell, and generally being the kind of neighborhood place you feel welcome and at home. In one emergency, when a mortgage broker forgot to send two sets of documents and the notary was anxious to leave, Copy Central even stayed open past its normal closing time so we could finish signing before our lock expired. I have been printing my work at Copy Central for many years. Rob and his crew are always helpful and fully knowledgeable of all the printing equipment needed to print my artwork and written material to my total satisfaction. Jobs are always done on-time. I drive to their shop from Oakland for the excellent quality work that many printing shops nearer to my studio do not come close. I gave up on generic places like Kinkos years ago, as Rob and his crew deal with customers far better and I get the feeling I am actually working with professional printers and not kids looking out the window wondering when quitting time is coming. With a $2 charge to print 2 pages from my flash drive and then another $3.25 to fax them, this place is over-priced. The staff was nice and printing/faxing went well, so some stars for that. And although it was a trivial amount of money (it would really add up on bigger jobs) the pricing left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when Cal Copy down the road is much more reasonably priced. Unfortunately, "Down the road" was the key factor for me this day. Like buying milk at 7-11 or hooking up with the marginally attractive girl down your dorm hallway, you're paying for the convenience. This place got my business because of Monday's rain. read more

I had to print one page, they charged me $3.50 which broke down into $0.10 for the page and $3.40 for opening my flash drive! How does this place stay in business? I'm never going back to this place and you shouldn't either. read more

Although a lot of ratings are not five star my experience at this copy Central has been five star. I was assisted by Kelvin and the service was absolutely phenomenal. In fact the service was personalized and I doubt that I could have gotten better service anywhere. Since I am a bit of a problem with the computer the assistance I got from Kelvin was first-rate, fast and successful every time I ask for help. Sometimes you can get very busy at this copy central location but even so Kelvin is there to please the customers with very professional help that's usually right on target. I have also had good experiences at this particular location in the past with other staff people so in general I would highly recommend copy Central on Shattuck avenue. read more

We have utilized the services of Copy Central for over 13 years, and the one at Shattuck and Rose in Berkeley, managed by Rob Pierce, for the last 6+ years. We followed Rob, when he moved from an Oakland Copy Central that closed because of a lease issue. We liked Rob so much we followed him to Shattuck and Rose. Rob is a pleasure to work with. He understands what you want. He listens and helps us figure out the best way to do a job, and then does a superb job of follow-through, printing and delivering on time. With no foul-ups ! We run a county public health program where we do a lot of training. We have various big long curricula documents, with multiple segments that need to be copied a certain way, with separators etc., and also a thick syllabus. Rob has duplicated these training materials for us many times; and many copies per order, sometimes 75 copies of 1.5 inch thick spiral-bound binders. Each time they are perfectly done. And, he's always kind enough to deliver them to our training site, so we don't have to haul them. He also prints our twice-yearly newsletter. We email it to him. He prints out the master, and in a few days 400 newsletters are delivered to our office. Again, no problems. If he has a question, he calls before going ahead. Turnaround time is always great too. Rob and Copy Central provide excellent service and do a great job, at good prices. I highly recommend him and their work. read more

I come in here regularly to get architectural large size drawings copied. They also print from .pdf's that I email them. I have found everyone here to be extremely pleasant, I have no trouble parking and pricing is fair. It is not really a professional shop for architectural work, but copying drawings is just fine and I never need to wait. I much prefer the atmosphere to the branch on Solano. read more

I had to get one page scanned and emailed, and unfortunately my all-in-one HP wasn't working. This was the closest place, so I went and because I was pressed for time to get this document sent, I had to pay the price, which was $8!!! It's pretty ridiculous and I would never go back. read more
