Welp this day has come that i got rejected when asking to replace spinach for cheese for my omelette lol. I thought the server was joking but she wasn't. Shes new so i had her ask the manager / owner and he declined as well! Lol. No apologies, nothing about it being a new policy. That kind of irked me for some reason. Because this is petty i cant say that i wont be coming back lol but for sure be visiting my #1 Giant Chef Burger in P.Hill. Best breakfast joint in coco county hands down. This was my second time visiting Cooper Skillet. The first time I had a hamburger which was told that was a frozen patty from Costco. So I learned it was more of a breakfast place and ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs which was around $10. We ordered two bottles of the champagne $25 with a cranberry and OJ juice mixture for our mimosas. The biscuits were ok, the gravy didn't have much flavor and was watery. I had to add a lot of pepper and salt! The gravy had these bits of sausages that resembled a texture of hot dogs. Totally turned me off and barely ate it. The ambiance is your old school diner and nothing to rave about. Honestly, I truly wanted to like it since I am a Martinez resident and love breakfast.... There were plenty of open tables, when I found out the person we were waiting for was still 5 minutes out we decided to go eat somewhere else where we could at least enjoy a cup of coffee while we waited. I was in Martinez and in the mood for French Toast. I headed downtown to Copper Skillet Courtyard, where I had the delicious 1/2 French Toast breakfast with sausage and bacon, served with terrific service! They have an expansive breakfast and lunch menu and a large board of specials. When I visit Copper Skillet, I feel transported to a mountain restaurant with all the gorgeous wood and leaded glass windows. They also have a semi-private area upstairs for meetings and gatherings. Oh, I almost forgot, yes, they have mimosas and Loaded Bloody Mary's! I got a table immediately, but they are a local favorite, so there might be a bit of a wait. read more

I believe this is the best breakfast diner in Downtown/MainSt. Martinez. Their specials on the chalkboard always sound mouthwatering. I've ordered their nachos- super loaded and yummy, I request no jalapeños. My kids are always satisfied with different items from the kids' menus. Food comes hot in your table pretty quickly. I knocked off a star because I've ordered ribeye from them twice requesting medium rare and it always come well done. But I will say, well done is still tender but I like some color on my steak. The wait wasn't too bad, we got here around 10am on Sunday morning and waited about 15 for a table for 2. The waitress greeted us immediately with water, and we placed our order within 5 minutes of sitting down. We got the tots, breakfast burrito, and the breakfast skillet. All of the food was delicious, seasoned well, and fresh off the stove. It was a decent amount of food, and we ended up taking it home with us cause we couldn't finish all of it. The waitress was very attentive, checking on us periodically to see if we needed anything. Our meal was under $50, which wasn't bad knowing how much food we received. Overall, this place was great, from the cute decor, to the food quantity and quality, and the service. We absolutely will be back again in the future! read more

We waited outside with other people and one by one each group was getting called except for us. It was well past the 30 min mark. One large group was called ahead of us and I'm pretty sure we arrived before they did. I don't mind waiting during busy times, but don't give an estimation of 30 min when it's more like 45min-1 hour. They were also repeatedly calling names that were a no-show. Why not serve the people that are actually there waiting? There was no follow up by the staff of the wait time when we clearly were standing in the front every time they called everyone else's name. We ended up leaving and eating elsewhere. read more

This seems to always be a staple when visiting family in Martinez.... And I'm not mad about it. We came on a Saturday morning and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered and they came around with coffee to re-fill every 10 minutes or so. She let us know that it would be a little bit of a wait for our food which is no big deal when you're in such a clean and hospitable place. They have a huge white board with specials on the wall from fish and chips to fun pancake flavors. The staff is warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is small town friendly. The portions for the price are actually robbery. & in the customers favor. This was less than $40. I had more than half my sandwich and tots to take home for later. I'm a super big fan of their ranch and the pancakes were fluffy and warm. I can't suggest this place enough there's parking in the back and if you're looking for true comfort food you won't be disappointed. read more

When I worked in Martinez I was always curious about the Copper Skillet. It has been a part of the city for years. I took some friends to Amtrak and decided it might be a good time to stop in. Street parking was easy; I guess there was nothing much going on at the courthouse. Ivy R. mentioned in her review that at one time this was the court building. When I walked in there were several people dining alone so I did not feel bad taking up a table for just me. The servers were friendly. Even though I only dropped my friends at the train station I was in a road trip frame of mind. I ordered chicken fried steak with country fries. I did have them leave the eggs off the plate. I knew I would not be hungry enough to eat them, and reheated eggs at home did not sound interesting. The food wasn't bad I have had this treat many times and I did not enjoy it this time. The country-fried potatoes were excellent. If I go back I might try the waffles that Toni M enjoyed here. The service was fine. The fellow at the next table was pushing his fries around, the server asked him what was wrong, and he said they were overcooked. She offered to take them back or bring him something else. It was our first time eating brunch in Martinez. We passed by this spot a few times before and had it etched in the back of our brains to dine here on time. We were seated right away in a corner and given our menus. Pretty lengthy menu with a separate kids menu. I chose the Cali Benedict with hash browns and black coffee. I was asked if I wanted the avocado with it and I declined. When my dish arrived, the avocado was there along with the bacon buried under hollandaise sauce. I just shrugged my shoulders and figured no big deal. We all enjoyed our meals and ate like hungry people; I know I did! Demolished my hash browns and left 1/4 of my Benedict when I ran out of bacon. Service was ok- it wasn't the friendliest. I felt some tension from the get go when we were seated what we would like for drinks. When I ordered for the kids, the woman was staring at me, which made me repeat myself 3 times because she wasn't responding. That was weird but didn't get my confirmation of tension until the end when my son actually said he felt tension at the end when we were paying for our meal. I don't want to contribute it to MARTINEZ, but it might be because it's MARTINEZ. OH WELL- I'm still coming back because guess what? Who cares?! read more

My friends and I wanted to go here a few weeks ago but that didn't happen. Today, we were able to go, but ordered for take out due to the bad air. Their dinner menu is completely different from their regular menu. So this review will reflect on the quality of their dinner menu. The person on the phone who helped us was patient when talking to us and answered all of our questions. I got the Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich, substituting with Onion Rings and also ordered a regular Strawberry Shake. The chicken sandwich was amazing. It was super crispy and juicy. The heat it brought made me sweat the the bun was grilled perfectly. There was a lot of food and even now, I feel completely full. The onion rings were pretty basic. The strawberry shake was pretty good. I really enjoyed the taste of ice cream and strawberries in it. I spent about $20 for this meal and, although a bit pricey, I still enjoyed it. Next time I go, I would have to try their regular menu. However, I still recommend their dinner menu. read more
