Great view, so-so menu My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend getaway and we decided to try this restaurant, For appetizers we ordered the Caesar salad and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. My husband ordered the Ember Hog Old Fashioned and the Seafood Buccatini. I ordered the Lavender 76 and the Chicken Milanese. Our total was $147 before tip. It was very loud in the restaurant, the bar is in the middle of the restaurant and the kitchen is not separated so it can get very noisy. Service was a bit slow but they were busy, and our drinks came right before our entrees even though we ordered them first. My husband also ordered his drink without smoke, but it came with smoke. The Caesar salad was just ok. My husband enjoyed his pasta, but it is a very messy dish. The polenta was gooey and cold. This restaurant has the potential to be very romantic, and the water view was amazing. The host was friendly and our server was very kind when he was helping us. The whole staff was excellent. We are very big fans of Brussels sprouts and these ones were DELICIOUS! My drink was very delicious (though I could not detect any lavender flavor) The chicken, kale and tomatoes on my dish were bursting with flavor. A very nice venue with a beautiful view. Valet parking that's free with validation in the restaurant which is nice. We had a reservation, were seated right away at a table right by the window. I had gotten an email this morning that their cook top wasn't working so there would be no pancakes or french toast on the brunch menu. While I appreciated the notification, we thought that with all those items gone, which are half the menu, that they'd offer more lunch items. They didn't and the selection was pretty limited. I ordered scrambled eggs, asked for them scrambled well because I don't like runny eggs, they were not. The bacon was under cooked. My friend ordered eggs benedict which she said obviously had been sitting on the pick up window too long and were just luke warm. We would have sent both back but didn't see the server to do just that. We might go back and try lunch just to see if this was a one-off and they are actually better but thinking this might be a better happy hour place than a full meal place. read more

I enjoy coming here for a nice meal. You don't have to make reservations but I always do just in case. This is my third time visiting and I've had the lamb chops twice. The sweet potato and jicama combo is powerful in the flavor department. It's a good portion but I always choose the oysters as well. The sauce is also a great addition. I'd say come here if you're looking to shake things up a bit. Even though we had a reservation, because we were a party of two we were sat at what I would consider one of the worst tables in the spot. Had reservations for brunch on a weekend morning. The hostess was...well, that was not a good experience for me as I found the hostess downright rude and dismissive. All of that negativity was eclipsed by our server. She was lovely and warm, quick to notify us that food would take longer than usual due to a large wedding party also having brunch that am. Came here for brunch on Saturday - got reservations via Opentable (group of 3 adults, 1 kid, and 1 baby in a high chair - open table allows reservations of up to 4). We were seated at the window and had no issue getting baby a seat between 2 chairs (also would've had space for a kiddo at the end of the table without blocking the walkway). Great hostess helped us get our valet parking validated before we were seated and made sure to get the kiddos supplied with crayons and a paper to color on. Food was a little bit of a letdown for brunch - we had checked out the menu before and called ahead to see what the kids menu would be, but unfortunately the person did not quote us the kids brunch menu so we made it work with some cereal (kids preference - the options were Cinnamon Toast Crunch, fruit loops, and plain cherrios) and mixed berries. I ordered a meatball sandwich (on focaccia with shoestring fries), my husband ordered the Kobe burger, and the birthday MIL ordered a meatball sandwich. I came here solely based on location. I had tickets to Zoo Lights and thought hey, they're close! I should eat dinner here before going to Zoo Lights! I am very glad I did! When we arrived my friend and I were immediately greeted and seated along the window. It was a very pretty view! Our waitress, Sabrina, was incredible. She made me feel welcomed and at ease. She gave great recommendations on food and cocktails. She had perfect timing and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we voiced requests. Sabrina was great! The food was incredible! I opted for the lumache bolognese - it was hearty, rich, savory, meaty deliciousity. It was a large portion - enough for leftovers to make a full meal the next day. I loved it. After staying the night at Silver Cloud, we decided to come on down for brunch at Copper and Salt. Bonus - they do brunch seven days a week! And of course, you're able to come dine here without being a hotel guest. The obvious wow factor is the view from the restaurant. Sweeping views of Commencement Bay can't be beat, and it's great being able to sit out on their patio during the warmer months. That's what we did, and we absolutely loved the vibe! We started off with a couple mimosas (duh) and I can promise they have a solid juice to champagne ration. Meaning, more champagne and less juice. Just the way mimosas are meant to be made. The brunch menu has a solid variety, but not so many options that I was overwhelmed. I was stuck between the pork belly hash and the biscuits & gravy, but the biscuits & gravy ultimately ended up winning. The gravy was really good, but I think it was a bacon gravy so it tasted a littttle bit too salty for my liking. That said, it was still good - just hard to eat a lot of it. When it came time to get the check, we heard our waitress mess up the table's check next to us... Sure enough, she also swiped our card for the wrong table as well. She seemed as if she could be new, and accidents do happen, so I wasn't mad, just a little irritated. The correct amount was withdrawn from my account a day or two later and I was refunded for the other table. We still intend on giving Copper and Salt another chance and returning for dinner. My first time here and was excited by the menu I saw on Google. Let me preface this by saying that the Google menu is nowhere close to the menu that's actually at Copper and Salt. Lesson learned. Don't go getting your hopes up by looking at a Google menu and be ready to order things when three out of three aren't on the actual menu. I ordered the beet and avocado salad with the Tuscan kale. The salad was 80% kale and 20% orange, avocado, goat cheese and beets. It was A LOT getting through all that kale with not many of the other stars to support it. And why cut everything so small when you have a sea of kale? For dinner ordered the calamari, shrimp and Italian sausage served with bucatini. I could discern the rings of calamari, but when it came to the legs, they all measured about a half an inch and were very hard to find. The shrimp were nice except please, take the tails off because even though you might like the presentation, I struggled with getting them off without taking part of the shrimp with it and having no place to put the shells. The sausage was cut up in quarters and quite frankly looked like something from a grocery store. I think it would have been much nicer to have it in a rougher state as I'm thinking that the sausage is homemade? Also, being a much lighter sauce, it doesn't support having bucatini as a pasta. It would have been much better with an angel hair because quite frankly, there's not a lot of sauce to be soaked up through the holes of the bucatini. Lastly, I think it was probably 60 something degrees in the dining room. Pretty chilly although I would err on the side of that versus having it too warm. Love the ambiance. Back to the menu, I was told the chef was in the middle of changing the menu, but I would hope it would have been more in sync with the menu on Google. I get it that Google's not always the most accurate but still... Sorry I usually have pics to support my reviews. The bucatini presentation was beautiful, the sea of kale salad, not so much. I wouldn't run to go here for dinner and I'm not seeing any management replies to reviews here. That's a little concerning. read more

It was limited but just know it was all delicious. We ordered meatballs, olives and a burger. Our server was nice and didn't make us feel rushed at all. The restaurant itself was nice and like all the restaurants along Ruston had great views. Our server wasn't the most knowledgeable when asked what certain things on the menu were. She was nice and the busser was on top of it. The food itself was okay. It wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular. We got the speck appetizer and I had the pomodoro pasta. This establishment is located in the Silver Cloud Hotel. The two star experience is based on our take-out order as I don't have any experience dining in. First and foremost, I get it. It's take out BUT come on. My husband and I were hotel guests at the Silver Cloud. We ordered take-out at their restaurant because the hotel didn't have any room service. The dishes were overpriced for what they were. We ordered the skirt steak ($36) - my husband actually laughed (and yelled out "are you serious?") when he opened this specific dish. Shameful presentation as it looked and tasted burnt. The salad that came with it was very small. You will leave feeling hungry if you order this dish. As for my order, I got the halibut with risotto ($37). It was filling, however, it's not a dish I would order again. We also ordered the sticky toffee pudding ($7) for dessert. This was absolutely delicious and was the star of the show. With that being said, my husband ordered and picked up the food and while he was waiting for the order, he sat in at the bar. We ordered clams as an appetizer, and two were raw, while two were completely empty. My pork chop was raw in the middle, and my friend ordered a flatbread pizza, which turned out to be a deep-dish pizza. The manager's responses were unacceptable; he said people used to eat raw pork, and the pizza was called flatbread because the restaurant next door was a pizza place. Came here for dinner last night. The only downside of coming here at night is that you don't get to appreciate the view! I think it would be more worth it to come in the day time to admire the waterfront while you're eating. They have a very limited menu, mostly pasta entrees. I've been here a handful of times and it's just never consistent. The prices drastically changed almost overnight for their brunch mimosa specials from when we first started coming here. Then another time we were waiting for SO long in a huge line at the hostess desk and no one ever came by to even check in on the line for at least 20 minutes. This is most likely a staffing issue. Inconsistent service / food - usually always means they don't have enough people working. So it boils down to why aren't people working there? Poor management? Overloading employees? Not paying them enough? They need to figure it out. The place gets busy because it's a hotel and it's got a great view of the water, but I won't return again. We left the last time we came here and went to the pizza restaurant next door and ended up having an amazing experience over there in comparison. read more
