My regular nail spot was booked so I checked yelp and decided to give this place a try based on reviews. Thank God I did because this just might be my new nail spot! My mom and I both got SNS on our fingers and a regular pedicure. They had plenty of SNS colors to choose from including a bag full of ones tbet had just bought! Ken(neth) worked extremely hard on my SMS. Something was wrong, and two of the same nails kept having a dull, patchy finish. It must have happened 7 or 8 times and he kept doing them over, without me asking!, until they were as perfect as the others. You can't beat having someone who is such a perfectionist do your nails! Leelee did my toes perfectly! The right shape, no bleeding, no chips. My mom's SNS was done by Jennifer, and her pedicure by Lee. Both of them also did a fantastic job as well! Both of us agreed they all did the best job anyone has done for us in a loooong time, and we're both very particular. We both paid $50 each for everything. A BARGAIN considering how perfectly done the work was. I'll definitely be around here again and can't wait to go back next time! read more

Horrible customer service. If you want to patronize an establishment that does not respect you or your dollars this is the place for you. Firstly you step into the shop and often times your presence is not acknowledged. The owners husband has such a nasty attitude and they act as if there upset to be getting paid to do their jobs. There's only one or two people in this shop that actually do a decent job on nails. When they first opened in 2013 they seemed like they cared about customer service and the quality of work but now that they have established a customer base all that has gone right out the window. You would think that because customers are the ones keeping food in their stomach and a roof over their head the attitudes would be very different... will never again spend my $'s here. read more

Then I was confused when I was waiting and she told another customer who just walked in that she was next... of course I spoke up! Then all of a sudden Tiffany said she would do my nails (some emergency) ... nails came out Okay but I'm super picky about my nails. Had to knock off a few stars for a few reasons after coming back a few more times: 1. Little to no parking. Parking "lot" in the back is impossible to park in since there are no marked spaces so its crazy. There is street parking but on an extremely busy road so its a little dangerous. 2. Space is a bit dirty, but the tools seem to be fine. 3. Polish is old and barely any brand name like Essie or OPI. 4. Only two or three chairs to wait in, so if you go at peak time you either stand awkwardly or since there's NO room, you leave. 5. Nails are done well IF and ONLY IF you get a good person. I guess this applies everywhere but I went 6 or 7 times to this place and only had two good experiences, one with Tiffany the owner and the other was with a girl who left. The last time I went an older man about 50 or so did my nails, a new set. His hands were shaking the entire time. None of the nails were the same. I get stiletto so I understand it's a tricky shape, but some were almond and some were so skinny they looked ridiculous. That was the last straw for me, I havent been back since. Overall: You get what you pay for. If you get Tiffany, you'll be fine, but this cant always be the case as I've tried to go to her when no one else was even in the Salon and they've put me with different people even though she wasn't doing anything. I would rather take my money elsewhere, but it's good for a quick run if you have no other choice. read more

I am very surprised at the reviews people have given this place. I've been here once before for a gel manicure and my nails looked great. The rhinestones started to fall out after 2 days but I thought it was because I kept playing with them. This time around I decided to try something different and get an overlay and planned to get a cute design because I'm going on vacation. The acrylic was put on VERY thick and when I voiced my concern, I was told it needed to be that way due to the gel polish so my nail wouldn't break. I was very confused but then again I am not a nail tech and the guy seemed to know what he was talking about. Since he wasn't quite finished I let him continue thinking "Ok maybe when he files and buffs it down it will look better". No such luck. My nails started to look even worse as he layered on the polish! At this point I could feel myself getting upset because I'm paying this person to do a service and the service is absolutely horrible. I really try to think about what I say and how I say it so when he asked what was wrong (because I'm sure I looked like I was about to throw up) I just told him that I didn't like my nails. Would you believe this man had the nerve to catch an attitude with me?! Any sane person would know what kind of reaction a business owner or person performing a service should have if they have a customer who isn't satisfied. Especially a customer who very politely states their case! Long story short, I will not be returning to this place. I guess they save their good customer service for regular customers. read more

Apparently it's a crime to have a problem that you would like corrected. I came back in to the shop (less than 24 hours later) to ask that a couple of nails be fixed and was basically screamed at (after patiently waiting for the owner to finish the client he was working on AND there was no one else waiting) Not to mention I paid $25 for a fill and to have my nails "fixed" (none broken) I asked him several times why he felt the need to be loud with me when I was speaking to him in a quiet tone and was told "I'm fed up because we don't see eye to eye." You're good here as long as you don't have an opposing opinion as to how you want your nails done. 3 stars for nails NEGATIVE 5 stars for extremely rude customer service. read more

I wish I never came here!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would! Waited a hour before someone even asked me what I was doing and even let me pick a color. I told them I was doing SNS powder on my hands and the guy messed it up. I told him I wanted my nails to be round he squared them!!!! So he had to fix it and by then my nails were already messed up. In the process of SNS, one of my fingers started to bleed and he didn't do anything! He literally acted like he ain't see it so guess what I don't see a tip for you! Literally the sides of nails are gone from him filing it too much. My nails were so nice before I came here, now I have to start all over again SMH!! another lady did my pedicure and she did a pretty good job. While she was doing my pedicure, I was looking at my hands and they were dirty!! The powder was all over my fingers. I had to tell the manager and the guy tried to fix it but failed! The manager had to do it. My finger started to bleed again and the manager had to stop it SMH!! I wanted to just get up and leave. The amount of money I paid for this horrible job is ridiculous! I have been here several times since my last review and all but one time was excellent. I have been to a different person each time and have left happy. I did get a pedicure and it was great but I didn't let the polish fully dry. Completely my fault. I have only had one long wait and that was late in the afternoon on a Saturday so I expected as much. I usually go after work so about 6pm. Even one Friday night, I went and sat right at a station. The bad experience was due to the nail technician not paying attention with the electric filer and hitting a different finger at least twice and acting like it was my fault. Other than that annoyance, he did a great job on shaping and painting my nails. I get a fill-in with the gel color (one contrasting nail) and it usually runs me about $25 - $30. After finding a picture on Google, I did a black matte with a silver reverse French and it look wonderful from afar but the technician did not use the cleanest lines for the French manicure. I will give a bit of a pass due to it being a curved line at the bottom of my nail. SN: the matte (top coat) only stays matte for a day or so, the oils from your skin/hair/lotion/etc. will adhere to the polish and cause it to shine, which is not a bad thing. read more

I got a full coffin set, with pedicure and eye brow wax for $60. Sounds like a slam dunk to me. Clean, friendly, and great at recommendations for skin tone and nail shape. I didn't want gel, but he did it anyway. I accepted and paid. He did a great job and that's why I'm happy and will more than likely go back. It's a mile away so it's a nice walk. I was looking for a new nail salon because the person who does my nails recently left the salon she worked for. Her new place in Manhattan and of course that was not going to work for me. So I went into Cool Nails and asked about getting gel nails done. The salon was not busy as there were two technicians not working on anyone. A woman sitting in the front was working on someone, looked up at me and said hello, "what do you need". I explained what I wanted and asked her if she had a specific color. She said "no she did not have it". I said "okay do you have something close to it". She said she did. She then said something similar to "I can do for you now you'll just have to wait". Now I have to admit, I am not use to waiting. I usually book an appointment so I said "well how long is the wait"? She then spoke in another language to one of the women who was reading and the woman immediately got an attitude and was huffing and puffing. She then turned to me and said "I do you now". I said "no you will not" (why would I want all that negative energy around my feet and hands) and turned to the woman who was originally speaking to me and said I will just make an appointment. "Are you available Wed at 3pm". At this point she said to me "you don't tell me when available, I tell you when I'm available". I have to tell you I was so shocked by this that I kinda stood there not saying anything. Even the woman getting her nails done was staring at me to see what I was going to do because she was surprised! She then went to her appointment book, told me some date and I just said to her "You know what I will just call back later" Needless to say I have never gone back and have actually found a great nail salon since. If negative 7 was even possible. Where to begin... I can't. For a place that specializes in design nails and take appointments... girl you better go somewhere else. Anywhere else. It all started this Saturday and a hot mess at that. I called in for a 1 p.m. appointment and got there at 1:05. I didn't get service until 2 p.m. and some change. When I was told it will be thirty minutes until they were going to start my nails. There was several women waiting there to get their nails done. I had to remind the person, specifically Stephanie, the fat Asian chick, that I had a 1pm appointment. After taking a couple of people that were in front of me. I finally got my feet done by an older Asian woman who told me that Stephanie said I could not get the design I wanted to originally get. Because it was gel nail polish and regular nail polish. The drying would take forever. So I changed my design. 55 dollars. After pressuring me several times to get gel nails which I declined 4 times; she did half of my fingers that were regular nail polish. Then Stephanie was to do my designs on four of my fingers. Then she proceeded to tell me that it's $60. After telling her that I've been here for almost 4 hours straight waiting to get the rest of my nails done she proceeded to kick a chair and walk away from me after I told her that the design that I picked was not the right one in which she put on my nails. The manager had to yell at her in their language and she left. He, Ken, finished my nails much to his credit. I would never ever go back to this place in a million moons. The blatant disrespect and lack of professionalism is something I've never seen in all my 31 years. I was so mad I was shaking. $60 for a subpar crap ass attitude and long wait time is not worth it. They can do any nail design you can think of and they are very creative. The negative is this place stays busy 7 days a week. I called first to see how long the wait was for a fillin. They told me no wait. Saturday afternoon wow! I came in and they sent me to Billy. He was professional and detailed oriented. I had no complaints. He actually shaped them much nicer than where I normally go down the block. Overall I was very happy. I was in and out. It was also a little cheaper than my normal spot. DO NOT RECOMMEND This place was recommended to me by a friend but as soon as I left I noticed my nails looked bad from the sides very bumpy and look like they were about to fly off, next day I went and asked them to fix it the same person 'fixed' them and apologized said he did the work on my nails quick bc they had to close and I came in around 5 and was seated immediately as they were not busy. My question is, why would they take me in if they wanted to close and did a terrible job. Anyways after the fix they were better less bumpy and not as crooked as before. Sides still look bad though. I was playing basketball and my nail broke so I went back and the lady at the front fixed my nail for free luckily and you can tell how different her work is from his. But she did have a bad attitude. GO TO ANNIES NAIL DESIGN, great prices and great work it's just a few blocks up on grand but I won't be going back there, please don't waste your money here. I am very picky when it comes to my nails and trying new salons without them being referred to me. I only go to 2 salons I've been loyal too, but this one has just been added to my permanent list ! I usually get a wrap and their fillings are perfection and last upwards of 2 1/2 weeks! They shape my nails perfectly.(I get the ballerina shape.) If you show them designs they never have an issue replicating them close to spot on. They can get pretty busy but it's worth the wait! read more

I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure and overall the result was fine and am satisfied. My biggest complaint is the overwhelming (and I do mean overwhelming) smell in the place of chemicals. There is no ventilation outwards. I have sinus issues and they flared and I came out with a serious headache. It cannot be healthy. The most I would ever go back for is a quick manicure but alas I physically cannot go back at all. I still smell the chemicals. :-( read more

Unclean establishment using unhygienic methods to perform pedicures. Had to ask the tech to clean out the foot bath after a customer had used it. Does not use sterile filing instruments. Had the slowest nail tech ever take an hour to do a simple pedicure and the result was so shoddy, another tech had to redo everything. To add insult to injury, no one cleared the driveway nor the steps of ice. Apparently, deicing salt is scarce. You get what you pay for...I'll stick to nail salons on the north shore. read more

Update I went back to get my nails done by the man who sits in front of the door. Usually I go there trying to get my nails done by Tiffany or anyone else. I have gone to this guy before and he does a terrible job and takes forever and for what??? Although Tiffany does a good job she doesn't really care about the customers even if they're loyal and spend a lot. Which I usually spend a decent amount and give a generous tip and good reviews but this last time I went I had enough. I went and every nail tech wasn't busy but I got this same guy and I asked for a simple black color and to cut my very long nails a tiny bit. I left with crooked and nails that were almost down to the skin with a basic black color and it took almost an hour and 45 minutes. I kept telling him they weren't how I wanted them and instead of fixing them all he did was argue with me about how he was right. I usually never complain and I don't even care how they're rude all the time but after this I'm not coming back. If you do choose to go there go to one of the Hispanic ladies they're the only ones who are nice and do a good job other than that don't bother. read more

I have been going here for about a year and I have never been disappointed with my nails. Tiffany (one of the managers) is amazing and pays a lot of attention to detail. She is very thorough and never rushes through nails, no matter how busy the shop is. And pretty much any design you could think of, she can do! If she is not available, I go to her husband Ken who is just as great. The only downfall is that the shop gets very busy very quickly so you may have to wait awhile unless you go first thing in the morning or later in the evening, but it is definitely worth the wait. read more
