I'm disappointed in the place. The chair for the pedicure was uncomfortable, the tub for the my feet did not seem clean and my legs were itching from whatever they put on my legs. When I called, they said that it would cost $20. They asked if I wanted them to remove the callouses and I said yes but asked if there was an extra charge and was told no. When I went to check out, she charged me $28. When I saw my credit card statement, I saw that they charged me an extra few dollars for a credit card fee. They should disclose this information. I would be fine paying that price but it should be disclosed up front. At least my nails look nice otherwise I would be really disappointed. read more

Honestly, I only went to this nail salon because of all of the positive reviews I read online. Upon going, I realized that it was a little "hole in the wall" nail salon off of a main road. There was no one waiting before me but regardless, I had made an appointment before going. I brought my little sister with me, and she was beyond excited to get her nails done. The girl doing her nails didn't speak any English but was still sweet and attentive. While I got my nails done, I bled because of the excessive cuticle cutting (I never bleed when I get my nails done), and it was the messiest job I had ever seen. She didn't file my nails correctly, and I had red nail polish stains all over my fingers. The location did not look very clean AT ALL, and I will probably not return. They did a great job on my nails. Costs were appropriate but the time was long. I was patient and realized I was a new client and a lot needed to be done. I only give a 3 because when I went to make a new appt I picked a time slot listed for the specific tech and no one got back to me. I called to confirm and was told she does not work on that day. I'm so glad I decided to come to this salon! I've been here a few times and every time I get exactly what I ask for. All of the girls are so sweet and talented and really take the time to make sure your mani + pedi is perfect. The prices are reasonable for the services and they offer so many different types of pedicures and nail services. The first time I came I was the last appt of the day and they even squeezed my boyfriend in for a pedicure which he loved. a bit pricey but soooo worth it. this place is small yet very clean and neat. i didnt know my nails could look so good... seriously!! i came here for uv gel french tips and gel pedi, my mom came for a gel mani and gel pedi. carla and staff were all beyond sweet and stopped many times along the way to ask if the nails were to our liking. we were both very happy with how they turned out. about a week after our appointments my nails and toes all still look perfect. my moms manicure chipped slightly :( but overall because of how amazing the work is and how nice the girls are i will definitely be back!!! thank u carla and team!!!! read more

Thank you to everyone who have left such wonderful reviews about Not Just Nails, because that's how I stumbled upon this place! I don't get my nails done too often, but sometimes I just want and need my nails to look nice. They do a great job at regular mani/pedis and gel manicures. When I had my first visit, I wanted to go for the SNS powder nails since I use my hands a lot and didn't want my nails to chip. They didn't have that big of a color selection, and I ended up opting for a gel manicure. Amy did my nails the both time I came here and she's just the sweetest! She's very attentive and takes her time applying every coat of polish. Not Just Nails is by appointment only which makes it a great experience to get your nails done without the crowded salon feel. Just make sure to call ahead. It takes about 10-15 minutes to drive to the salon from where I currently live and I'll continue to do so because of how great everyone is at this salon. I love this place! I have been coming to 'Not Just Nails' for about 2 years now. After a short hiatus in-between moving, I finally had an opportunity to return for some much needed relaxation and primping. To my surprise, a lot has changed. The business is now owned by one of the employees, Karla. Karla is amazing at what she does. Not only is she passionate about her craft, but she's a boss at managing the place! Service is attentive and quick with not one flaw. They have also done a small makeover which I love. The new colors are inviting and more relaxing and the small accents, like the fur rug at the drying station, create a cozy feeling. I also love that they have an ENTIRE wall, from top to bottom, of nail polishes. For each regular lacquer of polish, you will also find the gel version of it (nail polish heaven!!!!!!). However, it would be great to see a price list on the wall somewhere. I stopped in on a Monday for a gel mani and regular pedicure. Karla did my gel mani and Gladys did my pedicure; Both top notch services. I was amazed at how perfectly shaped and polished my nails were. Not a corner was left unpolished and the color lasted about 2-3 weeks on both hands and feet. Unfortunately, my work hours interfere with store hours BUT I'm running back here at every chance I get. I am absolutely pleased with my experience yesterday with Rosie. She took her time doing my mani and pedi and chose a gorgeous color for me. Rosie was easy to speak with and listened to all of my requests while doing my nails. Rosie is very sweet and put my needs first. I was impressed by the way the receptionist Michelle greeted me when i called to make an appointment, very professional and nice. The owner Carla was also very nice and welcoming. I am always changing salons because of the customer service. One of my nails had a section where it peeled and when Angie was working on that nail, she asked me if anything hurt, which it didn't. I appreciated the care and concern. So happy with my nails! They look absolutely gorgeous. The owner Karla did them, she's amazing. She's very sweet and smiley and takes her time. She brought me a little glass of oj while I waited. I had to trim down my nails so she carefully filed them down so that she didn't cut down too much and kept the nice skinny square shape. The place itself is cute and cozy. Very nice if you're treating yourself to a little spa day, (I know they do spa pedicures but I haven't tried yet). All the other techs greet you when you come in and I even saw the owner welcome a brand new customer... this is service I never really had at other salons (been to a lot of places in queens and the city). This Definitely is my nail spot FOREVAAAAA (cardi b voice) lol! Very sweet technicians, but unfortunately that was not enough to make me a happy customer. This was the worst filing job I've ever received. Not sure if it was just my technician, but I had to ask her multiple times to re-file my nails because they looked bumpy and uneven. Even the paint job wasn't great. When she made a mistake, it would be wiped off but she wouldn't repaint the nail to make up for the color she wiped off. On top of that, her UV gel dryer didn't seem to be working which didn't help me feel relaxed as she was messing up my nails. Overall, very messy job. The nail tech needs to pay closer attention to detail. I was truly expecting a premium experience based on the other reviews. It felt like I was getting my nails done by a friend, not a professional nail technician. The only benefit of this place is that they seem to specialize in nail art, but that's about it. After researching salons offering quality services on yelp, I stumbled upon NJN. Owner Kim greeted me up on arrival and luckily I was the only client in the salon on a late Sunday afternoon. Kim was professional and took time out to speak with me as a new client. This salon is very small but very posh! I love the turquoise and white theme. My technician was Sonia who offered IMPECCABLE service. I had a regular Mani Pedicure and am a very satisfied new client who will be returning. I've had some nail spa nightmares in the past but glad to have a new home. The foot massage I received with my pedicure is definitely worth the drive to West Hempstead. Sonia was great. My nails were painted perfectly. The spa provided a very intimate, tranquil environment without the hustle and bustle of most overcrowded salons. I walked in for my first appointment with Karla and she introduced me to UV gel (versus tips I had been doing for past year maybe?). Ever since then, I've been back 7 times (their stamp card comes handy in being accurate here) and have seen Karla, Gladys and Amy and love working with all of them! They pay attention to detail, respect my time and the appointment and have the funnest instagram where I go see the latest designs other clients are getting these days. I recently found this location on yelp and called in to see if they could take me right away and they said yes i got there in 15 mins not to far from my house. The setup is beautiful inside especially the pedi spa. The pedi spa i received was so relaxing it was served with a drink chocolate and strawberries on the side. I received like a citrus brown sugar scrub which made my feet really soft. The only thing i didn't like were my nails i wish Karla had did my nails instead because i wanted the chrome nails but it wasn't coming out right with the other lady. So i just got the uv gel nails plain. She was nice but hopefully Karla could do my nails next time.
