I've been to Sandy's three times. One time I had the owner Sandy do my French nails, she did them quick and perfect. Loved everything about it which is what made me go back and try to give them a third chance. But the other two times, the first being my first time there and the last was just last Friday. I got Amy. She is nice but she does not do a good job at all. I got my nails done last Friday not even a full week ago and they already need to be redone again. The work is sloppy, the polish was not down to the bottom of the nail and she doesn't take her time to do her work. She rushes everytime even if there is no one waiting for her. If everyone did nails like Sandy, they would've got 4 stars but because of this one worker, they won't unfortunately. read more

When they are on they are on. Beautiful designs, they are rather timely. However there is a tinge of bias and dismissiveness. It's the frustration of it that will make you look for another nail tech. I have only had the owner do my nails she is good but not detailed oriented. When you point out and error or something to be fixed there is always an excuse or sometimes an attitude. The slight bias is she often will choose a person of non color to bump your appt then blame you. In addition will create an entire scene in front of shop. Never had this issue before. I honestly am extremely picky with my nails, I personally usually always see Jenny, she absolutely kills it every time and she is always careful and precise. Sandy the owner is the best! Everyone in this place are hard-workers. They're very clean and efficient. Sns gel manicure not even one week old...Why charge so much if you are using fake product. I've use SNS before and this is the first time this has happened. I can only conclude that this is not original product. I do not have the time to go back and get a refund or get nails fix due to my busy schedule. This is just not fair... Been coming for 15 years + and never had issues . Sandy is always accommodating for her clients and her workers work very hard . Clean. If you want crazy designs I wouldn't suggest to try, but traditional and somewhat stylish they definitely nail it ! Decided to try this salon out because they had cheaper prices than the current place I go to (you get what you pay for) never will I return here, as I was getting my pedicure and looked at the case where the nail tech was taking her tools out of I felt sick to my stomach, the tools and case look dirty and I debated stopping her and leaving because I felt it was not hygienic. I sucked it up and gave them a chance, I did SNS powder gel, the design I wanted they did a great job with and I loved. However in less than 2 weeks the powder started chipping and breaking off, the nails did not last. The quality was not there and the cleanliness or lack there of really grossed me out. Although their prices were cheaper I would have to spend more money because they don't last at all and I had to get my nails fixed again before it was even 2 weeks. I will gladly pay a little more at my previous place because when they do my nails, they last about 5 weeks without chipping and much cleaner read more

I've always had a great experience at this nail salon. I stopped going for a few years bc I moved plus my job moved so it was hard to go and out my way. Never again. I never found a place as trendy as this one and I had to be back. Sandy is simply the best and so quick with it all. She's super talented! This nail salon has the sweetest and skilled staff. I got my nails done by Jenny. She did SUCH AN AMAZING JOB. I got acrylic tips with gel polish and designs with rhinestones and glitter. She shaped the nails so perfectly and sealed in the designs seamlessly. She let me take my time in choosing the colors and was very patient. There was no rushing. Afterwards she did my pedicure, also flawlessly. Everyone is super accommodating and sweet. I had even come a few minutes late to my appointment and Jenny was there waiting for me. Honestly the absolute worst nail experience I've ever had. I will never be going back or recommending anyone here. I called earlier in the day to ask for pricing and told the woman on the phone that I wanted to get dip powder with a French tip, but that I would need to get actual tips since my nails were super short right now. She said no problem dip is 35 an extra 5 for French and an additional 5 for the tips. I said sure no problem 45 for all that is a pretty good price. Later, I get there and show my manicurist what I want. It's a picture of an almond shaped French tip (I'll add it). She says ok and tries to talk me into doing some thing called "pink powder" since SNS is bad for your nails and has to be soaked off every time. I said no I want dip powder. She shows me a gel and I say again no thanks I want the powder. Finally she applies the powder with a brush and I got confused since I know I said I wanted dip. I ask her and she says no this isn't SNS it's "pink powder" no idea what that means. I say no j want regular SNS she says it's bad and I say it's fine it's what I like. Suddenly she gets upset (she really only did one nail and it wasn't even fully done yet). She starts getting rough with my hands and fingers and continues on with SNS (btw she grabbed the SAME container of powder). She spends the rest of the time being super aggressive with all the materials she's using. I ask her if we can cut the tips a little shorter but she barely cuts much off and then continues to act like I'm inconveniencing her. She continues on, paints on the french, puts my hands in the UV lamp and then oils my cuticles and sends me on my way. I end up paying $50. Still not sure where that extra 5 came from but ok. I get in my car already upset because they were pretty ugly. I show my friend and she literally gasps and says they're hideous. She wasn't wrong. A bunch of parts were missing paint. The lines were bad. They were lumpy. I call and tell them I'm coming back later and ask if they can fix them since I couldn't stay cause I had work and I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. She says sure come back later. I come back and she's giving me straight attitude. I ask her to cut them down just a little and she takes the file drill and files them down like that. Now they're obviously coffin shaped. She shows me and asks me if they're good now. I say are you going to file the sides round now to make them almond ? And she goes 'that's what I'm asking you' I said well yeah I want them almond and she says 'they don't look good almond this length' which btw could've been avoided if she didn't put up an attitude and drill them down. I say it's fine please make them almond. Ultimately I end up telling her to not even make them French tips anymore just leave them bare and let me go. She paints a light pink color on them and sends me on my way. A $5 refund for not having French tip anymore would've been appreciated or an apology or at the very least a lack of attitude for the immense inconvenience and terrible job she did. I will now be going on vacation with nails I did not want that I actually shouldn't be paying more than $35 for. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra money at much better and nicer place. I used to go there, then I stopped because of the attitudes the girls had that worked there. I had to ask for cream for my hands during a manicure and she sighed. The people at the time that worked there were messy and acted like they were doing you a favor. A few years later I went back and I made an appointment. As I was waiting and 20 min went by someone walked in and said "manicure" they said sure pick color. I just left. I made an appointment and they took someone ahead of me. While I have made the mistake of visiting this salon many times. I will never visit again. The workers (for the most part) are very nice, but something always goes wrong. I have made appointments and still found myself waiting for an hour. The salon is completely unsanitary. I never once recall them using any sanitized tools. The buffers look like they are from the 80's. The gels do not last more than a week. I decided to try the SNS which is supposed to last 2-3 weeks. One day after I got it, it chipped. I've been growing out my toenails for months and I was so excited to go in and have them shaped and all those months of growth for nothing. She didn't even cut them in a square shape, my 2nd toe is literally the shape of a triangle. She was at one point RIPPING my toe nail off with the nail clipper. She was cutting it so short the skin around the nail was raw almost bleeding. Was so put off I couldn't even do the spa treatment/ callous remover as planned. She knew she was completely in the wrong bc she kept looking at them and apologizing. Then she had the audacity to come up to me while i was drying them TWICE to ask when I was paying. To top it off the card reader wasn't working and I had to sit at the register with the owner for almost 10 mins while she ignored me to talk to other customers and to do another persons nails (after already being annoyed with the service I received.) It's 2022 there's no reason you don't have a reliable way for customers to pay using card. Completely horrible experience from start to finish. I love Sandy nails as they do the best job (in my opinion) on acrylic tips. I went here recently and got acrylic tips set which was great. However, this review is specifically for my pedicure. I got the callus remover, and when the technician was using it on my heel she scraped off a substantial amount of skin. at first I couldn't tell how bad it was because the cut was raw and she did do a good job of cleaning it. When I got home my foot was sore and I can understand that and it wasn't that bad. However, now, three days later the wound is red and it looks like she took off more skin thank I thought. While she did apologize, it wasn't really rectified in any way and I'm left with a wound on my right heel. I probably wouldn't come back here for a pedicure. My only suggestion is to be careful and ask that they take their time when working with some of the most sensitive skin on your body. read more

I started coming here after a coworker recommended it. Honestly, this is the best location on Long Island for gel manicures. My nails always last at least 3 weeks and I can get them as plain or as decorative as I want. Sandy has her own IG page (sandylipsingsu) of her creations; though if you want Sandy you need an appointment. As soon as you walk in they tell you to stand in front of the machine and take your temperature, then sign in. Then when you sit again they ask you to sanitize. They have a glass shield placed which I loved. Jenny did my pedicure and SNS powder set. Amazing!
