This was my third time going to this salon and had originally liked it. I made an appointment two weeks in advance with Kim and even called that day to confirm my appointment. I get there and she tells me she is sorry someone had just called so she had to take her instead of me??? HORRIBLE customer service. Then I get the powder gel done by someone else and it's SO thin. This was the worst nail salon i ever been to in my life, horrible customer service they did not know what they were doing . The owner was very nasty and rude and did not cater to my needs whatsoever. The tech started my nails (same tech that said she knew what she was doing and manager vouched for which was a lie) she had no interest doing my nails and had someone else do it instead who did not know what they were doing as well. It's a good place if you need a manicure out of necessity and work late (as I do) and nowhere else is open. Worse experience I have ever had here. Very disappointing, I usually have a great experience. I guess the women was the manager or the owner. She was more concern with watching a program on her phone then finishing my pedicure. Usually you get a quick message at the end of the service. But not with her. I didn't even know she was finished with my pedicure. She just walked away. But she was very fast to charge me. Jump steps in my pedicure. They're open until 11pm Monday through Saturday. That sells itself. In terms of quality they're TERRIBLE. In terms of overall demeanor, I came in for a manicure/pedicure because I spent the weekend at the beach. I paint my own French mani and if I have to say so myself I do a very good job, but they were all chipped. The manicurist said "you don't need a manicure, just pedicure today they look great" (in as much English as possible). Long story short I got a pedicure and had to fix my own chipped nails....what the actual heck? I don't recommend this place other than they're the only nail salon open late. Bizarre and frustrating. They're lazy and obnoxious. Waste of money. If they weren't open late, they'd go out of business. I hate this place so much and every woman who wants to come in to "relax" should run! read more

For example: I simply asked for a specific length and they repeatedly told me that I shouldn't get that length, when I asked to remove the tips from my nails they began to speak about me and began to handle my bad very firmly with an aggressive matter. I have been here 4 times and I will not return again. Here is my experience: As I walked in, I was immediately impressed by the clean, beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately, my admiration was halted as the woman that I presumed to be the owner asked me what I wanted done in a harsh tone. I was there with my mother & my aunt and I responded that we wanted to have gel manicures done and that my mother & I also wanted pedicures. My pedicure experience here was lovely. The owner's daughter is wonderfully pleasant and gave me the best pedicure of my life. My gel manicure experience was also good this first time. My mother loved the lady who did her nails. Unfortunately, that was that lady's last day there. We were so thrilled by the beautifully done nails that we decided to return. Our second visit was decent, albeit stressful due to a packed salon and a clearly stressed out owner. As we walked in and told them what we needed, the owner yelled at us that we had to wait... Duh. We didn't think we were going to go before the customers already waiting. They then convinced us to try the thinner, more expensive gel for our manicures even though we expressed that our nails break easily. My mother and I both requested to have our gel soaked off. Her manicurist told her they could only soak off the thinner gel. My manicurist ignored my numerous requests and told me that it had to be filed off. Our third visit was horrible. I returned with many broken nails, as did my mother. We told them that we wanted gel manicures but with the thicker gel. My mother wanted a French manicure with the thicker gel (which she had gotten on her first visit). Additionally, my mother wanted the gel to be soaked off, not filed off, again. They tried to tell her she couldn't do that at first, until she reminded them that her manicurist did it for her on her first visit, and they said it could be done with the thinner gel. My manicurist also soaked mine off. My manicurist rushed my manicure and I left there with air bubbles on my nails. She told me to return the next day if I had any issues. Well, my nails were peeling by the time I got home. I returned the next day and she fixed my nails for free but the newly done nails still had air bubbles. She tried to tell me that it was because I used the thicker gel but I had used it before & did not have this issue. My nails peeled again of course but I didn't bother to return. Our next visit was our final visit. My mother got there before me and was soaking her polish off. We had appointments this time, so I was called over to a chair. However, someone walked in after me and I was told that she had an appointment specifically with that manicurist so I had to get up and wait. I thought that was incredibly bad planning and rude on their parts. My mother & I were called to have our manicures at the same time & were sitting side by side. Now these people had my Mom's hands soaking in nail polish remover for about an hour if not more. When that lady went to use the file my mom said, "Ow! The cuticles really hurt." Well that rude woman got up from the chair and left! My mother and I thought she was coming back until my manicurist (the owner) said to my mother, "She's the best. I don't know why you don't want her to do your nails." My mom replied, "I didn't say I didn't want her to do my nails. I told her that she was hurting me." That owner then told my mother, a paying customer, that she complained too much!!!! I was fuming by now and my mom looked so hurt. We pay, we're good tippers, and you're a service provider. I think you really should take a look at how you treat some of your customers. I will not return here again. read more

Very clean place. I went here to get...um...waxed. This was my first wax of this type and they were very patient with me. Let's just say they waxed a lot of stuff and they only charged me $35. At other places this would've cost me $75 or more, so I'd say the deal was good. Now they did a good job, but they could've done better so they've lost some star power, but I will try them again and keep you posted. I'd say the cost effectiveness of this place should be your draw to go there. read more

Absolutely terrible!!! Highly recommend for one not go. The only time I would go is when I was in desperate need of a manicure of pedicure. The few times I have gone late at night, either service of manicure or pedicure has been poorly done and rushed. Owner is incredibly rude as well as for most of the workers. The only worker I prefer to go to is Nancy due to her never rushing when doing nails and doing such a great job. Only good thing about this place is the hours that it is opened. Complete dump. The owner is a rude, dismissive and nasty woman who doesn't know a thing about customer service. We asked a question about how long the wait would be: she ignored us and went back to working on the woman's nails. We again asked, and she looked at us and without saying a word turned her head and pretended we weren't there. We decided to leave as I refused to give her business any of my money. I truly love this salon!!! The owner takes some warming up to. Now that I've been going here for a while I love her. Please also note her culture isn't that of an American so yes she takes time to ease up. Like all salons they try to push you a bit to upgrade your services but a firm no thank you does the trick. They're very clean, open late, and I've never had color issues. They've got a great selection of gel and regular colors, lots of brands (Essi, Opi, Shellac, IBD [i believe that's what it's called]). I was here late Tuesday and they were not busy at all. I had my pedicure & Fill in- home within the hour! Prices are a bit higher than other salons on hempstead but service is certainly better, they're clean, and open till 11pm! Can't go wrong. My nails are perfectly polished and shaped. read more

Five stars across the board! I have known about this place for about three years but never went because I love my own regular nail salon. Anyway, a few weeks ago I NEEDED a mani pedi and I had NO time the only time I had was after 8 PM which is usually too late to go to a nail salon as they all close as 7. Well ladies, fear no more covert nails is here! This establishment opens until 11 PM!!! They were my saviour that night. Firstly, there's ample parking outside. I found parking as soon as I got there and because it was so late I didn't have to pay a meter. It's in a very safe neighborhood which is pretty bright at night so no need to be scared for a late night visit. Secondly, this nail salon is one of the cleanest nail salons I've ever been to. Usually I don't go anywhere other than my spot because they are so sanitary but I was very happy getting my mani and pedi here. They have about 6 pedi options and they have all the manicure options. I don't get gel done usually just a mani and spa pedi so I was happy with the options. They have a wide variety of Essie nail polish which was an added plus because I only use Essie or OPI and their massage chairs were amazing. Being that it was so late, I was surprised as to how many people were there but it was a relaxed environment and I was in and out in under 45 minutes. Lastly, the customer service is perfect & so we're the prices! I called at 7 and said I'd be there at 9 I walked in at 920 and they sat me immediately. The nail techs were gentle and accommodating. They were really nice, made small talk and made sure everything I wanted was being done. I thought that their prices would've been higher but my mani pedi was $23 if I'm not mistaken, which is an average price and a price well worth it for the service I received. I got to talking to another woman in the salon who said in all the years she's been getting her nails done she doesn't go to any other salons because they treat her well no matter what time of day it is. I strongly dislike this nail salon! They are very rude and rush you and do a pretty bad job, the nail polish doesn't even last. They were filing my nails and they did it so bad it hurt my nail. Just a FYI If you want to bring your own nail tools they get very mad. read more

very upset with my experience here today. i go to this nail salon every 3 weeks for a gel manicure. today the lady, Nancy, did a horrendous job. when i asked her it fix it, multiple times, she gave me attitude and then reminded me to tip her (which obviously i did despite the fact that i was extremely upset). now my nails look crappy and i am $50 out. definitely lost my business and my friends who i bring with me every week too. read more

I wish I had taken a pic so that this review would be way more accurate than just words alone. I went there with a friend, called in advance & found out when they were closing. They are usually open until 11pm which is nice for people that work 12 hr shifts all day. We got there at around 9:30 and opted for the special they had posted outside. Something along the lines of $48 for a mani, pedi and 30 min foot massage (excuse me if that's not 100% accurate). We were seated at 10:25. Never mind the wait, we were given a rude attitude by the owner when we told her what we wanted done. She proceeds to tell us that there was no time for the massage so mani/pedi it was. My manicure was rushed and absolutely sloppy (which is why I wish I took a pic before removing the mess today). The owner hovered over myself and the woman doing my nails the entire time and made me feel very uncomfortable. She rolled her eyes when I asked her to break a 20$ for tip. She didn't let us have time at the dryer insisting that since I "live so close" my nails would be dried faster. What? Needless to say, I won't be returning. I'm extremely disappointed in this salon & wish I hadn't had the experience I had since they are one of the very few open so late. I had this done on Tuesday night, today is Thursday. Very unimpressive. Not a particularly warm welcome upon walking in for the first time. Decided to try it because I know they open late and maybe I'll need them in the future some late night. Subpar. Only got a regular pedicure - Nothing special about the actual work done. Massage on calves was practically non-existent. Woman working on me put a minimum amount of effort into my experience. Massage chair did not work adequately. Environment was fine - clean enough. Workers seemed not so thrilled to be there. When I went to sit down at the drying table, I expected her to follow and give my shoulders a little massage as almost all nail salons do nowadays. As I was putting my hair up in a bun to get it out of the way, she did follow me, but instead of helping me to turn on the drying machine and reaching for my tight shoulders, she said "You pay now," and showed me the receipt. Hmmm... still hoping she was planning on coming back to finish the job after I gave her a decent tip, here I sit... Nothing. With shoulders still tight, my somewhat messy toenails drying (painting job was sloppy. I can see colored nail polish and clear coat on my cuticles and surrounding areas) I am disappointed and regret straying from my favorite person & place (Ellie at "Colorful Nails" on Jericho Tpke in New Hyde Park.) :( read more

The only good thing about this place is that they're open late.That's about it. I walked in there for my first time yesterday & I've never experienced such rude customer service at a nail salon. When I walked in I was not even greeted with a hello. I asked to have a mani pedi and the lady I told looked at her friend, laughed and ignored me. So I asked again and finally I was helped. The pedicure was ok, but the manicure was horrible. The lady ripped out my cuticles so hard she made me bleed. And then she put nail polish remover on the cut. I told her not to do that because it stung and she argued with me! She then put nail polish on the cut that was still bleeding. She again proceeded to put nail polish remover on the same cut but this time she dipped her thumb finger nail in nail polish remover and put her nail in my cut. How unsanitary and it burned. It's the next day and the cut still hurts. After the horrid manicure I was walked to the drying station where she threw my stuff down, didn't say thank you and did not give a courtesy massage like most nail salons do. Disgusting service.
