Went to cool nails in the past and it was great HOWEVER I went yesterday for a gel pedicure. I had gone in the past and it was great . Yesterday not so much. The water was lukewarm, the tech rushed thru the pedicure and there was no foot massage. She did a good job with cutting my tie nails and polish but was too quick with the pumice stone. When I got home and took a shower I noticed my heels were still scratchy. I decided to get a regular manicure because in the past I've gotten tops etc and it weakened my nails terribly. After many months I've finally gotten strong nails. This manicure I could have and should have done myself at home. The tech used SO MANY coats if nail polish its took FOREVER to dry. She left me and went out a side door coming back I thought I smelled marijuana not too sure though but she definately does not understand English. She plopped on the oil on my cuticles and that was it. I left and made it one nlock when I looked to see my nails all bubbled like an accordion because it She used like 10 coats of polish. I went right back and asked her to remove it but kept having to point out its not all removed at least three times. Never again. I'd avoid this place. It's dirty and run down as well. read more

Yesterday I decided to try a new place since the nail salon I usually go to doesn't satisfy what I truly want. One great thing they have is a parking lot for there customers! I was greeted by ken, who asked me what I wanted, which I got a fill-in with one repair silk wrap nail and a pedicure. He was very polite and welcoming, showing some of his beautiful artwork he did on previous customers on the stores instagram. All in all they were very clean and professional and he knew his stuff, the young lady who did my pedicure took her time which I enjoyed a lot, next to the great massage chair. They are a bit pricey but I went to other places that were more pricer. But if you want something different that would amaze you, they can do it!! I will be going back for my next fill-in. read more

I decided to give this place a second chance and again was disappointed. The first time I came here I got a gel manicure which was fine the people weren't the friendliest so I ended up searching for another nail place which I found and is a million times bette Ethan this place. Unfortunately they were closed and I had broken 2 of my nails and came here to get it fixed. I came in at 6:40 (they close at 8). The girl tells me they are closed and I said you guys close at 8 and she just kept repeating we're closed and nothing else (btw they were people getting their nails done at the time). I told her I didn't need a full service just to fix two nails...again all I got was we're closed. At least give an explanation she clearly did not care and was happy being rude to me. Now I spend a lot of money every time i come here not a lil $20 $30 ! Im talking $100 and over just for nail designs, tips & pedicures. As a loyal customer i should never have half ass work done on my nails like hello ! Clean around my nails and make sure to clean the nail polish and dry acrylic off my fingers. Now one thing i never liked that they do here is they make you pay a $2 convenience fee/ surcharge for using your card which they are not suppose to do especially with a debit card ! Today i paid for my nails & my fiancé's nails I was confused why My bill went from $63 to $67 not tax ? but because the fat lady that sits in the front told me it's $2 per person fee to use your credit card since it's 2 different people that had a service done even thou Im doing one transaction on one card I have to pay $2 per person ? What a joke ! So If Im paying with one debit card and i pay for 5 peoples nails i have to pay $2 per person so $10 extra on top of my bill ! that's ridiculous and surcharges are still not allowed on debit transactions ! Cool nails is charging their loyal customers $2 to use credit & debit cards for years even thou they are not allowed to just to make extra money. Im a finance manager i deal with banks all day I hate when people try to get over on their customers. I will definitely be making a complaint to the better business bureau and a few other places ASAP ! read more

Other than the shape & color, I didn't really know how I wanted my nails to be designed. So they made a few suggestions & we tried some different things to see how I'd like it. I enjoyed the waste of my time and shoddy job. The lady who started my pedicure has to be told to clean the station, did nothing to my feet. When it was time to scrub my feet I might as well had a a newborn do it. The owner asked me as pleasant as possible if I wanted anything else and I said no and left. I really wanted to like this place but i give up. I'm the type of person that doesn't Mind paying nor do i make a fuss about prices. Everyone charges their price for their time and as a business woman i respect that; you can either pay for it or not. With that being said i decided to Give this place a shot due to its good reviews. Fast forward to next couple of appointments later where i didn't just pic a regular gel polish but showed him a pic of what i wanted(which was a simple ombré design like the ones he girls do on you tube with a sponge). He got defensive and gave me every excuse in the book telling me i needed to get powder and that the design was powder not polish. I don't like to commit to a color or design if I'm just going to change it the following week. i told him i would usually get it done in westchester and even showed him a video of how the girl would do it. He made a big deal about it and made me feel bad as if i wasnt simply asking for a service. So embarrassing. He should just say i can't do or yea i can do it and it'll be this much and take this much time. It's simple. I said listen I'm asking for a service I'm willing to pay for you don't have to get loud and make a big deal. I'm not asking for a Cardi B design. It seems as if you can only select designs from HIS page. I picked regular nail polish and called it a day. Next time i didn't make an appointment and just walked in. I said i didn't mind who took me ( i mean seriously at this point right). I brought my own nail polish and told him (it's the guy that sits facing the door) just trim and fill in. Simple, right?! Wrong!! He filed them so much that the next day all the acrylic from the corners chipped and my nails were left exposed he also filed them all choppy. Check the pic. Horrible place. If it's not an attitude it's bad work. There's also a tech tiffany who seems to be very popular also, never did my nails with her but i did have to help a Hispanic girl. She wanted a simple nude color, she brought a pic, she was being told that she could only do gel and it'll be $45 with a full set. The girl was so upset but since she had waited so long she agreed plus she didn't understand much. i decided to help since i saw all she wanted was a simple nude. I asked Tiffany why gel only?! she said because she didn't have that shade of nude. Like seriously?! stop trying to take advantage of people. If you don't have that same exact one tell her!! Hey i have something similar you can do! Or i have that same exact one but it's gel and it'll be this much; that's it but don't force her to get gel and have to pay. Horrible customer service. I usually don't leave reviews, but I'm so blown away by Cool Nails Salon that I had to make an exception. This is my second time at their salon. My first visit was 3 weeks ago when I got a fresh set of stiletto nails. Tiffany was my nails tech and I LOVED my nails (especially the custom design). They lasted 3 weeks with no chipping (gel polish) or breaking and they didn't look anywhere near 3 weeks old. So I decided to go back today for a fill in and a pedicure and fell in love with this salon even more. My pedi was great and Tiffany did an AMAZING job on my nails once again, so I had to leave a review to say thanks for such incredible service. After spending years at my previous salon just to pay more for far lesser service (gel polish always chipping, nails breaking, and nothing but outdated designs), Cool Nails is now my new spot and I'm so happy I found it. read more

I was recommended to try this nail salon by my wax girl who goes here. I called made an appointment with the owner Tiffany. The place was clean and all of the staff were very pleasant including, Tiffany who did my nails and she was very accommodating as I expressed I was not happy with other nail salons I've tried. She was very fast and efficient. Also she was very patient with me as I am not the easy person to do nails on. My boyfriend even got a mani/pedi and he was happy. I am so pleased with this place (which I decided to try after seeing so many impressive pics and reading so many positive reviews here). I only had my nails done for special occasion, except for the random mani and pedi here and there. Since having found this gem, I have been there 3 times for a gel mani in the past two months (trust me, that's a record ). Since then I have been pleased with every gel mani done by Tiffany. This was the first time I've been to Cool Nails. I've been looking for a new salon that is really good at modern styles and shaping. After looking on Yelp and seeing all the pictures they had of their customers nails, I had to try! And I must say I am so happy with how my nails came out! I told him I wanted the coffin shape and he asked me if I wanted it really narrow or more square. I wasn't sure so I said somewhere in the middle. He said let me make the shape and see how you like it. He nailed it the first time. My nails are perfect. And it doesn't hurt that the prices are amazing. Before going there, my nails were a hot mess and they were lifting. He suggested a whole new set so that I don't get fungus. With gel it was only $45 to have everything removed, redone and with gel. I was in the area and got a mani/pedi here. I walked in around 11:30 on a weekday. You cannot park in Grand Avenue during the week. (It is a 30 minute parking zone only) There is parking towards the back of the building. Not that much parking and it is very tight but if you go early you can find some parking spots. This place is very clean and the services they provide are comparable to other nail places. They have a clear sign with the prices--Cash price is different than "Regular" price I believe the regular price means credit card so bring cash because cash is discounted and less than regular. They are quick, efficient, and they are plenty of designs and colors to choose from. They don't rush you. Please check this place out if you're in the area. You will not be disappointed. read more

By far the worst experience doing my nails ever!!!!! The popular guy was busy and insisted that I used another tech. He swore this guy was just as good as he was.
