This place is my go to nail salon. I've been coming here for about 2 years now and I'm always satisfied with my nails. They are a bit on the pricier side especially when you get a design but I don't get my nails done elaborately that often for it to be a problem. I usually don't have an issue getting the appointment I want if I call at least 2 days in advance but I've also never been there on the weekends so I can't speak for that. My nails were peeling as the gel top coat was not applied properly. I went back the very next day to get them fixed and the nail techs were very dismissive. The nail tech who did my nails didn't fix it, they had someone else work on it. I was still unhappy with the quality of work and the nail tech said she couldn't fix it. Wow I'm so devastated with the results after me going to Fresh Nails... I always get SNS and never been so disgusted with the aftermath... never have I had problems with fungus and my nails being as soft as a piece of paper.. I used to get my nails done in Brooklyn and never had this issue... but my nails are now paper thin. What happened I don't know but something with the product they use just messed my nails up!!!!! One of the best Nail Spas I've been to on Long Island in a while. Recently I have been trying different Nail Spas since I left my salon in Queens. I stumbled upon the reviews here after a few bad experiences at other local spas. I visited this morning for a pedicure and Color Gel Manicure and I am one happy customer. I was greeted when I walked in and taken right away by Nancy. She did a great job asking me what I wanted and what shape I would like my toenails. She filed precisely and shaped the nails perfectly. I didn't have time to wait for the toe nail polish to dry so she told me I could return the next day for the polish. She gave a nice foot massage with oil. Next, Ana took over and did my Color Gel and I had a great time talking with her about my experiences and she shared some helpful advice on nail designs and services. I finally feel like I'm in good hands ! Literally!!!!! I haven't had Color Gel in years. It came out great since I decided to stop doing SNS Powder Dip. Love my nails ! These ladies/ gents provide wonderful service. The salon is clean, bright, modern, posh and comfortable. They don't talk loud or play loud music. Very relaxing environment. They do good nails but the woman that answers the phone is rude AF. I just called to request a date and time with May and she said she doesn't have time and hung up on me! How about you tell me who is available at that time then??? Or pick a different date. I didn't call to get hung up on. Anyway, if you can get past the rude girl on the phone Ask for Jenny or May.. They are amazing! I recently moved to the neighborhood and am so happy this salon is here. Everyone is extremely detailed, they spend the time they need to ensure you're getting their best, and they always do a great job. I had a gel manicure from one of the male employees my first time and then got tips from Kelly this past time. PERFECT almond shape and amazing French paint on top. Like everyone else said, you have to make an appointment - it gets packed here. Since my last review, they have been opening instruments from the sterilization bags in front of the customers. This gives me more security in knowing that instruments are cleaned in between customers and not stored in a container. As for the polish, I have been trying different brands and noticed that some tend to chip more than others. When I have time I come here to treat myself. I moved to West Hempstead about a year ago...I love this nail salon, I'm so happy I found it! It is very clean, following all Covid-19 precautions, yesterday when I was getting my nails done a customer tried to walk in without a mask on and Ping, the owner, got up and handed her a mask before she was allowed in. The quality of the services they provide are great, I got my second SNS powder nails there yesterday I went in with a design that I liked and Ping delivered! My first set lasted 4 weeks with no chip or peeling!! I waited so long because my work schedule has been so crazy with Covid, but Ping was very accommodating even when I had to cancel and reschedule! I was soooo in love with this place. So much so that I recommended everyone I encountered to go there, and constantly posted them on my social media. I even carried their business cards on me and let people take pictures of my nails for reference. Then something changed as the business grew and they gained popularity. Appointments would have to be set far in advance. Fine. But then prices became inconsistent and have now sky rocketed. Which I would suck up, if the quality of service was consistent. It no longer is. Paying such high amounts I once critiqued my nails, understanding people have off days, and said I'd even pay to have them redone. (I'm know for having nice nails.) Apparently, that was unacceptable even though she laughed at not knowing how to even attempt the design. I know people are protective of their craft but I could've picked something else had I known the outcome. I have since not been able to get an appointment with my nail tech/the owner. I had been going there for over a year. This was the first time I spoke up, as in the past I just paid to get my nails redone somewhere else if I did not like it, to not cause issues. The girl who has done my nails since seems to overcharge, seeing as how Ping did similar styles for less in the past. Because I've recommended so many people, they share their thoughts with me and I am not alone in feeling like service has been inconsistent in recent months. I truly loved going here and now every time I go hoping for the best, I leave more upset. $123 for a full gel set with design. Annoyed but ok, they came out beautifully. Then a fill-in with design was $100. (Note: The prices were disclosed when the designs/service was completed, not prior.) That means the design was $55 by itself. Cute? Yes. But breathtaking? No. There are minor issues. My former nail place would've charged about $60 total with similar quality. I came to Fresh Nails, initially, out of convenience. I gave 3 stars because I genuinely like the owner but know she's overworked. Additionally, I have had some truly wonderful experiences and think their point program is wonderful. They do seasonal gifts/freebies, as well. However, I've also had more than a couple not so wonderful experiences at this point. read more

Soo this place is clean and nice. My friend and I had an appointment for 5pm. We made the appointment for two people to do powder gel mani's and pedi's. The whole point was for us to sit together chit chat and stuff. So we get there they sit us together to get our pedicures done. My friend gets hers done and I sit there waiting... and waiting.... no one tells me how much longer I'd have to wait or anything. 45min go by and I'm still waiting. By that time my friend is almost done getting her powder gel done and they sit me to dry my feet and NO ONE is doing my hands. The whole point was for us to get these things done together, not separate. We saw people who came in after we did and they were attended immediately and got their nails done before me. So the waiting time was very poor and unprofessional. The work done is okay, lets hope they last. Needless to say, I doubt we'll be back. I really like this nail salon. $85 for a new gel set that's ombre (pink & white) & with jewel designs on two fingers is a steal. Ping, you're an artist! Only complaint that I had was she didn't buff enough so when she put the top coat there are little flecks underneath, but they're barely noticeable. Another thing is that I made sure to have her to not make the tips too chunky - so I made a comment to thin them out so they look more natural. All in all, my nails look perfect other than the slight blemishes - and the design is obviously gorgeous. She took the time to make sure it was perfectly aligned in the middle, and that the nails on each side were the same length and shape (coffin). I wish I had time but they had a special going on for lavender or lemon tea spa pedicures for only $30-35 dollars additional with any gel manicure - and I likely would've taken advantage of that if I had the time. All in all, I'm happy with the service I was provided overall and would come back again for a fill-in. read more

Since this was my first time here I opted for a regular pedi to see how it would come out. She spent a lot of time patiently cleaning my overgrown cuticles and was extremely gentle. The tools were opened in front of me, and the file and buffer were also new and opened infront of me. I just went to fresh nails and I asked for some yellow ombre tips, no design. I show them this picture (i'll compare both the pic and what I got.) I feel like I got almost exactly what I asked for but I didn't expect the price to be so much.. I paid $80 for this. They charged me $5 extra for matte. Being honest this in my opinion should cost $60 or $65. I feel like as someone who's studying to be in the beauty industry it's all about looking for ways to make the customer happy with the price too, to create a customer base. There might've been something that she could've tweaked like maybe not using entirely gel. And my nail tech didn't speak that much to me so I don't really know what I got to compare it to the prices on the board ..? HOWEVER! the quality is absolutely perfect!!! The shape was done SO well even though I honestly would prefer them slightly thinner but even so it makes them stronger. No air bubbles, no lumps, no uneven nails, so I have to say they do an amazing job. One last thing though... As she had me set the nails one by one it burned and at one point my left middle finger was burning so much that i couldn't take it, and it continued to burn as she worked on the next nail on the same hand. Is that normal? Basically, if you have the money to spend to go then it's amazing but if you're not willing to spend more than it may be worth, dont bother going. read more

I'm very particular in what makes me commit to a salon & nail tech. These ladies have satisfied me beyond measure. I was recommend by a friend and a year and half later I'm still here. They are consistent in service and precise in technique. The team of manicurists have a keen eye for detail & their nails designs never disappoint ! My favorite two sit at chair one & three. I don't have a particular fave for pedicures but they too get the job done. They are pricey but I believe in the motto: treat yourself, don't cheat yourself. Kris is a very polite, nice tech but once he started asking me what length i wanted EACH nail, (LOL), i knew i shouldn't have came in. This lady charged me $50 for this acrylic set with NO polish and didn't even clean up my cuticles. My advice is please do take your money elsewhere cus like she rudely told some one else on Yelp, it is yours and this business IS NOT IT. Not to mention acrylic is crooked and uneven and has bubbles.
