I have always had excellent customer service here. The skirt steak melts in your mouth and the mashed potatoes are wonderful. I love everything about cool hand Luke's! The bread and the beans are always a reason we go lol like a free appetizer almost but we always get an appetizer too because everything is wonderful. For dessert I did not care for the glaze on their strawberry pizza but their cookie with ice cream is bomb. The molten lava cake is superb and so is their cinnamon roll bread pudding read more

Been there twice now. the first time was okay. not good, not bad, just okay. The second time was for my girlfriend's birthday on a tuesday night at around 730. the place didn't seem busy but what do i know. it took about 45 minutes before we got seated and we were okay with that. after we were seated we waited another 20 minutes before a waitress came and asked if we've been helped. we got our waters and looked over the menu. we waited, and waited, and waited to see if someone would come take our orders. we waited almost 30 minutes and no one came. we saw our waitress help another customer that had been seated after us. we thought she'd come and help us after them but she didn't. yeah, we could have asked for help but we're not rude people. we didn't complain, we didn't try to get anyone in trouble. we just left. ive never walked out of a restaurant before so that was a first, and the "have a nice night" on our way out was icing on the cake. Salmon dish had no flavor and had skin , baby back ribs also were flavorless, chicken breasts were dry, cheese on baked potatoes was not melted and all food in general was not hot. Passing through Clovis, intrigued by the name of the restaurant and wanting a steak, my group decided on this establishment. The ambiance was nice. The menu extensive and mouth watering. I wound up ordering a succulent prime rib, the others a steak and tri tip. Everyone loved their meat. The cowboy beans were perfectly seasoned as was the grilled asparagus. My wife and I went to Cool Hand Luke's about 45 minutes prior to closing. At a BBQ restaurant the best food your going to get is when they are busy, that way the food is always fresh. As apprehensive as I was, when I received my order of tri tip I was surprised how juicy and tender the meat was. We ate here in October of 2015. Jonathon was our server and everything was perfect. He made us want to come back. We were again in Clovis, Ca. in March 2016. This time Jonathon was off duty so Crysta was assigned as our server. We handed her the receipt from our October 2015 visit and told her to duplicate it. She handed it back to us and assured us she would. We again reminded her that Jonathon said this was a web special price and he had to hand feed in the order, and not just stick a finger on the screen photo of the food. We asked her to take the October receipt with her to place our order in their system. She assured us that she didn't need to do that. Our food order arrived in a reasonable amount of time and tasted OK. WHEN CRYSTA BROUGHT OUR CHECK, IT WAS FOR ALMOST $5.00 MORE THAN THE OCTOBER CHECK FOR THE EXACT SAME FOOD ITEMS. We reviewed it with her twice and she said that was the only price their computerized system would come up with. Other reviews of this establishment show the same pattern of incompetence with servers. It is obvious Crysta is under-trained and perhaps mentally handicapped and unable to remember what patrons tell her. EITHER WAY, WE WON'T BE BACK. read more

Worst service we have ever had. Walked in sat ourselves in the bar area for happy hour, 4 tables were not bussed. No busser to be found. Waited 10 minutes for our table to be wiped and ended up walking out as the table was never cleaned. Our server couldn't wipe the table herself. She also didn't bother to find a busser to help. As we left she was talking to the hostess. Not sure how there was time to stand in the front talking and not time to wipe down the table or find the busser or someone capable of cleaning our table. 0 stars. However, the last few times I have been there ...MY RIB EYE was so thinly cut and was really tough..I was VERY disappointed in the last few steaks I have ordered..The meat was really TOUGH and the Steaks ere VERY THIN.. I WON'T be going back.. The quality has really gone DOWN... The Rib Eye was supposed to be a 12 ounce STEAK.. There is no way that was a 12 Oz. Steak.. The service was excellent and the food was very good. However, it was really empty and sometimes we sat just looking at the decor. Just had the worst experience at Cool Hand Luke's. Arrived at the restaurant at 6:15pm and went to the Host/Hostess station and put our name on the list and was told it was a 30 minute wait. Ok fine, I told the hostess we will be waiting outside as there was no available room inside to sit. We sat outside and soon 40 minutes had past so I went inside and inquired as to our status and was told by a tall blonde girl that she was working as fast as she could to seat everyone and it would be another 15 minutes and we were 4th down on the list. Ok fine told her again we will be waiting outside. We saw groups outside as well as inside being seated so went and checked again because it seemed more than 4 parties had been seated. She now said we were next on the list. Again told her we were waiting outside. Once again saw 3-4 more parties seated so went in to check to be told that we were already seated...Ummmm no not if we are still standing in front of you we have not been seated. They did not offer to seat us next or anything just said I'm going to have to ask my co-workers what is going on. Well what's going on is either you didn't write down the names correctly or someone else took our seats and you should have at least offered to make it right by seating us immediately. After 1 1/2 hours wasted we walked out without eating and am sitting at another establishment enjoying our dinner! Thanks for nothing! read more

Probably one of my worst experiences there as we are frequent flyers there. Beer was served warm I ordered a tri tip that was similar to eating a rubber ball and our waiter never came to see if we needed anything nor asked us if we wanted dessert. Won't be back after tonight :/ read more

Unfortunately, Cool Hand Luke's has new ownership and management and that has created challenges for this location. The food portions are smaller, the prices increased, the food quality appears to have declined, the bottomless salads with the meals have stopped because of a shortage of lettuce and more. It seems that our family and friends are also having these experiences after we noticed them. read more

We came here after someone in the area referred this restaurant. We are in from out of town for a baseball tournament. We wanted to take our son out for a nice dinner for his birthday. We were very disappointed. The food was marginal at best. My husband had the New York steak and it was supposed to be medium rare. It was way overcooked and not that great of a cut of meat. My son ordered a short rib melt sandwich. It was horrible. It had tons of crushed red peppers on it making it ridiculously spicy. The menu did not mention it being spicy. It also did not have much meat on it and the bread was more black than a grilled sandwich should be. This place was a ripoff in my opinion. The prices are far too high for the quality of food you get. Also the service was not very good. I do not recommend this place. read more

Went to cool hand Luke's in Clovis last night for a birthday dinner. Love coming here. I had the 10 oz prime rib medium rare. It was cooked nicely. The thing I like most about this place is the atmosphere. The restaurant is nice and friendly even for families with young kids. After dinner we went to the bar area to hang out and have some drinks. This place was ok. My steak was cook correctly but it lacked flavor and the same goes for my lobster tail. Their drinks are pretty tasty and our waiter was very pleasant. It's pretty pricey but I don't think it's worth it here. I'll just stick to Texas roadhouse. read more

Was really excited to try Cool Hand Luke's for a celebration with the family tonight. By the end, my wife, kids and I were very disappointed. The appetizers started off very well (mushroom skillet and calamari) but by the time our entrees arrived everything took a nose dive. Right as our salads came out this weird kettle of beans came out with them. This made no sense because aside from being flavorless, they were stone cold by the time our entrees came 30 minutes later. About the entrees... First of all, my son ordered a hamburger with ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion. It came with absolutely nothing on it. Just a patty on a bun. When the server checked in we asked for the condiments. He brought back a plate that had lettuce and a pickle spear on it (still no onion). A pickle spear? Come on... Three of us ordered ribeyes medium rare. Wow, just wow... I worked in kitchens as a teenager and all I can say is I know what a microwaved steak that has been seared on the grill looks like. The insides were medium to medium well on one side and pure rare, almost raw on the other. Not the way we wanted to drop $150 at all. All I can say is I am glad we gave it a shot so we know not to come back. We could have had a lot better experience at a chain steakhouse. read more

This place has declined in customer service since new ownership has taken over. Single shot nachos at lunch time were terrible. Steak was try that was on nachos. There draft beers are to foamy takes forever to pour one. Sad I use to love this place would come down once a week from coarsegold now not even worth it. We came in with a group of 18, for a pre-wedding family dinner. The group reservation was handled by Tim with great service and efficiency. When we arrived we were greeted by our waiter Rick. Talk about AMAZING! Whenever our family gets together, it's always a time for cutting up. Rick didn't miss a beat. Our order - cocktails, appetizers and dinner were served perfectly! We ended up at Coolhand Lukes on a Friday night after a very disappointing start at Uncle Buddys bbq...never got our food there...after an hour of waiting, and asking two or three times when our food would be ready...the waitress came over to tell us our order never went through...what the hell, we asked 2 times at least and was told it was coming...anyway we left very hungry and angry...we called Coolhand Lukes and explained what had happened and even though their were people waiting to be seated they told us they would have a table waiting for us, and they did.
