I was completely shocked and felt very uncomfortable; the woman who owns or manages the café treats customers terribly--she actually frightened me. She absolutely refuses to let the customer speak; she is a controlling dictator who urgently needs psychological help. Whatever you do, don't go there. She wouldn't even let me order my coffee the way I wanted, didn't make it as requested, and treated me very badly. She is either racist or has some other kind of problem--this person definitely shouldn't be running a café. read more

Ate and went here today for my bike group trying this place out for the first time. We definitely got different kinds of hot drinks like coffee, hot chocolate and tea and muffins and pastries that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and super fast and friendly. We couldn't agree more about it. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :) read more

Thank you google search for opening my life to Cool Beans coffee house. Walked in and was greeted cheerfully by the two guys behind the counter, they made me feel like we were old friends. What an adorable little spot, nicely decorated ample seats (in front, interior and on the back patio). They have a lovely menu, there are pastries you can drool at near the register and they offer bagels and sandwiches so there is surely something on the menu to tantalize your palette. I want to say thank you to the Java gods......yes, they sell lavender lattes (not the easiest latte to be found) but my favorite. Best part was it was prepared to perfection and the option to order a very large size drink gave this spot another thumbs up. I paired my latte with an apple danish, was asked "would you like it heated"? Why yes....I would. They told me they would bring me my order which came out pretty quickly. The apple danish was flaky, sweet but not too overly sweet and fresh.....it took everything in me to talk myself out of getting a second. The iced lavender latte went beautifully with the danish. A really nice place to spend a beautiful sunny Saturday just relaxing and kicking back. I was offered a glass of water to go along with my items. They bused the tables quickly when a customer left and really made my experience at this Queens gem a spot I will add to my rotation. Let's speak about the bathroom, can you say clean??? Decorated nicely, didn't stink and stocked with everything you need in a public restroom.....kudos for their attention to one of the most overlooked areas of some restaurants and a certifiable deal breaker for me. Great staff, so attentive, personable and friendly.....they are a huge asset to the success of an eatery (sorry I didn't catch them names otherwise I would have mentioned them in this review). Currently the hours are 8am to 4pm, 7 days a week so don't go by the website saying open till 6pm. read more

Have been here twice . The first time was okay. Second time aweful service and disrespectful. I don't know how they have such good reviews . Must be the lack of coffee shops nearby. Not only was the person in charge blocking the way into the coffee shop she also demanding I get off the phone in a very condescending tone . Even when I explained I was on the phone with my baby that's in the nicu. She told me that's so sad but she doesn't care so I walked out . The lack of empathy . My Fiance and I love this place for our weekend breakfasts. They make delicious egg sandwiches and great coffee. The vibe is so friendly and it feels like a locals spot. We brought our family of 8 here with two kids and they were so accommodating and make the place feel like home. Definitely recommend! read more

The place is a neighborhood gem. Very quaint, very cosy. It is hidden away at the back of one of the quietest parts of sunnyside/woodside. So only the locals tend to go there. However, what it lacks in accesibility, it totally makes up for in terms of quality and experience. As soon as you walk in, the barista/owner will greet you with a smile. She is very polite but not in an "in your face" way. Rather, nice. The place is very cosy (And I don't mean small). Has couches and great interiors in the back with lots of charge points. It is spread out and almost always fairly quiet. So you can enjoy your coffee without disruptions. Its a great trip away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. read more

One of my favorite things about Queens, is places like that. They make you feel like you're in a small town in the big city. Went here for the first time and the service is so good and welcoming and this matcha latte looked and tasted great. It would be a great place to catch up with friends or get some work done. It seems simple but I love when you can tell the people that work somewhere enjoy being there because it makes me enjoy being there more. 10/10 would recommend and would stop by again when I'm the area! read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Cool Beans recently opened maybe about a month or two ago but I finally came around to their shop last week. CROISSANTS! We have a terrible shortage of delicious croissants in the neighborhood once Cote Soleil closed but thankfully we have Cool Beans. They source their pastries locally and I've already tried the plain, chocolate and almond croissants. Amazing! Just the right amount of butter and fluffiness that's needed. The almond croissants are not overly sweet like some other spots and although I'm more of a chocolate croissant fan, I can see myself converting. Customer service here is also stellar! I've been there twice and each time the staff has been super nice and are always talking to their customers. They also offer great suggestions and tips (hello Chobani oatmilk extra creamy). I haven't tried all of their holiday drinks but I'm a fan of the pumpkin spice latte. Unfortunately, I'm not too big of a fan of their La Colombe coffee but that's just my preference. read more

I've been coming here ever since moving to the neighborhood. From the name, I thought it was a coffee shop, but this is an MVP all-around neighborhood joint - with sandwiches, coffee, baked goods, the works! Everything they have here is excellent. I've been moving through the menu slowly and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always fresh and the hospitality makes me feel like I live in a little holiday Lifetime movie town, except it's genuine. This is that rare combination of food and warmth that makes you wonder why you're rushing around all of the time. Come for the n-the-moment-ness that the food, drinks, and staff provide. So far, I have had the cappuccino, a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese, and a few breakfast sandwiches. One day I ordered the roast beef sandwich on a whim and took it home. As I ate it, I wondered what kind of sorcery was involved in this food experience I was having. It is the best roast beef sandwich I've ever tried. They got my order wrong, and when I tried to call them to correct it, I got a Google Number and had to leave a message. This is a wonderful hidden gem in sunnyside. The owner is incredibly helpful and engaging, whenever I go there I feel like I'm catching up with an old friend. I'm not sure any establishment in recent memory has made me feel so welcome and appreciated. The coffee is phenomenal and the atmosphere is second to none. I highly recommend this establishment. The owner penny knows myself and my girlfriend's drinks and is always so kind and helpful. I look forward to continuing to frequent this welcoming, friendly, clean and delicious establishment. This is a good neighborhood place. once COVID is over, it will be a good, comfortable, homey place to hang out with a cup of coffee and a snack. The people who work there are all super nice. They are trying really hard to please and make you feel welcome. I get the egg sandwich which is delivered super hot off the grill and very good. costs about $5. They have outdoor seating in front of the store. I ordered their coffee once -- ugh. just no. Pros: Comfort vibe. Welcoming. this is a place that offers a comfortable feeling and comfort food. Staff is super nice. Place is very clean. Cons: The coffee is awful. They have a lot of plants hanging from the ceiling and half of them look dead which is gross. read more

Wonderful relatively new coffee shop, a huge boon to the neighborhood. Great food menu and their coffee is superior to any nearby competition. The owner and her young staff work their butts off and make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. My only hope is that at some point they'll stop playing commercial radio stations and instead do Spotify or something. Radio commercials are horrible, and they do disrupt the atmosphere. read more

The atmosphere at Cool Beans is a nice alternative to get some work done, meet with clients, all while enjoying a decent sandwich. The owner Penny is most attentive, has a nice selection of bake goods for your little Grogu, and gentleman Phil will be the Alfred to your Bruce Wayne. Vegan options are limited, but they have the BEST COFFEE, so it's a great place to fuel up before you start your day. read more

I like to get my morning coffee and possibly a croissant as I walk my dog, Stevie. By the way, Stevie loves the staff and especially Penny. And dogs are excellent final arbiters of what's good.
