Albeit the only thing I've tried at Chakra Cafe are their bagels from a TGTG haul, I can easily say that their bagels are amazing & easily some of the best bagels I've had in my life. They are so incredibly fluffy & chewy...it's hard to not love them. The turquoise blue color outside is catchy. Wanted a small bite so went here on a warm afternoon so had to sit inside, since shaded outdoor tables were taken. Counter window seating had blinds which we were able to adjust. With colorful lanterns and paintings; quiet there even when crowded. I picked salep for my drink- good, tasted like chai, cinnamon. It's been a while since I came here and I was very surprised that I never wrote a review about this place. This is a very nice place to grab a quick breakfast or coffee/snack. It's very cozy, welcoming, and clean. There are quite a few artwork that you don't feel like you are in the city until you step outside. You aren't rushed and can enjoy at your own pace. I came in to get a light lunch. I was hungrier than I thought. Since I wasn't ready to order, I asked the employee to come back to me. There were so many options so I finally decided on the Mirage: Chicken with tomato, cheddar cheese and mayo. I decided to eat in. The employee brought my order to me. I was hungrier than I thought. Good thing I had a nice stroll afterwards. The salad was fresh and crisp with a nice crunch. The sandwich was so tasty that you can't have one bite especially when it was warm. Double whammy of ick. Found a hair in my smoothie, luckily pretty early on and I'm glad I was actually looking at what I was drinking. Also as I was leaving, they were shooing away an obviously pregnant woman who was sitting outside - I'd guess just waiting for the bus that stops nearby - telling her it's for customers only. A popular neighborhood spot for breakfast/lunch. We stopped by with the intention of just checking out the menu but ended up ordering a bagel and a drink. Black pearl bagel was a bit on the pricier side but fully loaded with goodies - bagel topped with cream cheese, sliced cucumber, lox and caviar. Chagaccino (mushroom latte) was smooth with a bit of a spice, similar to a chai latte. It's supposedly a good coffee alternative. I love this little cafe. I arrived early for taste of Sunnyside and my friend had been here a number of times before so we popped in for some coffee. I ended up getting an iced hazelnut latte and it was really delicious. Both strong and sweet and a delightful nutty flavor. My friend got the macchiato. All of their food sounds delicious. I only sampled their baklava because I knew I'd be eating a ton later but it was one of the best I've legitimately ever had. Their signature bagels sound soooo good. A pesto bagel sandwich? Sign me up. I saw some other people at tables with huge, fresh salads and sandwiches and it all looked great. I love the vibe here as well. The cup was served to me wet and I burned my fingers when I tried to take the lid off lol. First time here but I probably won't be back. guys the food was IMMACULATE, the environment was such VIBES and the owners were so nice. You order and pick up the food at the counter and you can sit anywhere, it is a small restaurant so there's only a few tables but it is really nicely decorated and organized so nothing feels too crowded. the lox sandwich was so fresh and delicious that every bite made me want more. A cute cafe place with bagels and brunch options! Came with friends to have a book club meeting. There is additional seating in their covered side patio area that also has heating available for customers. I got the breakfast plate (they also have a vegan plate option) and it comes out on this wooden plate completely filled with toast, salad, and eggs. Stopped by last Saturday and it was quite a busy day for them. We had to wait for a little while to get seated. The staff was pretty quick to clean the table and sanitize it. My husband ordered a latte and some breakfast plate & I went with the Chakra Waffles and latte with oat milk. OH MAH GAWD... my plate was HUGE. It was just loaded with a lot of stuff lol. Nutella explosion I say. Plenty of whipped cream, of course. I really appreciated the generosity but man, I was worried I fear for the risk of getting a heart attack. I was actually overwhelmed and had to share some with my husband because it was just too much! The coffee was okay, nothing to rave about. On top of that, they didn't ask to see our vaccination cards. So I was kinda eating in fear... and tried to finish up as fast as I could. Really wish we had a chance to check out this place before the pandemic so we may have had a much better experience. For now, I'm happy to give 4 stars. read more

I'm a huge fan of this cafe, I was walking by and stopped in for an iced coffee. It was life changing (idk why I just really like it). Since then i've been making the 20 minute trek to get coffee or when I'm feeling lazy I'll order in. Today I got the Black pearl bagel and it was great as well. Who doesn't want caviar on their bagel?? One suggestion which obviously take or leave. On the ordering platforms (uber eats, doordash) none of the food items have descriptions, I took the time to look up the menu online but others may not do that so you could be missing out on deliveries. Additionally a box to write in under the item would be nice. Sometimes I like to order extra coffees without ice so I can save the for the next day :) read more

This place is adorable and it's centrally located on Queens Blvd. I've walked by a dozen times and decided I'd go in and check it out. They have a few smoothie options but the prices and sizes aren't listed. When I asked the girl behind the counter how much it was, she huffed and said "$8", I also asked how big it is, "it's the large" and rolled her eyes. I should've left then but I figured I'd give them a chance. I got the green smoothie and there was a very weird and spicy aftertaste. After the only true bagel place closed this past weekend (PSA, someone please open a bagel shop here, it will make you tons of $$$), I went on a hunt to find a weekend breakfast spot. I've been thinking about Chakra for some time, so I figured to stop here. For one, this is a pretty cool place to chill and drink some coffee or eat some breakfast or even dessert. Especially when the windows are open when it's nice. Very cool place. I got myself the flame bagel (which is an egg and cheese). I wanted an everything bagel and cheddar cheese and I also wanted some pepper and some ketchup. FYI, I believe they think ketchup is something strange to add onto the bagel, but it really isn't. It took some time to receive my order though. Seems weird that other bagel places can do it a lot faster with more volume, but it's whatever to me. Anyhow, I got the bagel and went home. The egg and cheese was alright for the most part. Only thing is that the person didn't put cheddar cheese and instead put American cheese. I can live with that mistake for now. The bagel wasn't terrible. I couldn't expect a quality of a bagel shop, but this will do until landlords in Sunnyside stop being greedy and allow bagel shops to open up. It's not Dunkin Donuts bad either. It's do-able for now. As long as my order isn't messed up next time. Only bummer is that it costs $5.50 for a flame bagel. That's more than even going to Ess A Bagel in Manhattan. That's way too much. I guess I'll have to live with this place for now until more bagel shops come through. read more

I have eaten at Chakra Cafe three times, breakfast and lunch. They offer a nice variety of lunch salads, sandwiches, and bagels, pastries, and eggs for breakfast. What made me assign five stars is the excellent customer service. I ordered an espresso, but the server taking my order thought I wanted two espressos, maybe because I was sitting with my friend, and when we realized the miscommunication, I said, no, don't refund me, just give me a double. She brought me the double espresso AND a plate with an almond croissant cut in half for my friend and me to share plus two chocolates. I mean, that is just so nice!. read more

This café is absolutely adorable! I was referred to the spot by a friend, and I was so sad when I had to just grab and go. I would've loved to do some work here but my busy schedule unfortunately did not allow it. The spot is right off of Queens Boulevard, so you might have a tough time parking, but it's well worth it. This café isn't large, but there's some seating here. The inside decor is really comforting and warm and there is also some seating outside as well. I was absolutely starving so I asked the person behind the counter if they had any suggestions. After quickly going over the sandwich selection I decided to go with their salami sandwich. This sandwich usually has avocado but they were all out. I really appreciated them letting me know right off the bat and asking if I wanted to substitute any ingredients instead of the avocado. I went with some arugula as it's one of my favorite sandwich ingredients. The sandwich was awesome! The salami was great quality and the sandwich was warmed up which allowed the cheese to melt slightly. No pictures available because as I said I was starving and completely devoured the whole sandwich. It also came with a side salad which was very nice and a great surprise.
