WARNING. Do NOT book any party with this place or the manager. The manager does not honor the contract and adds additional charges without notifying the customer. She was nasty and rude and blames the customer for her own mistake. We made a contract for a party with the manager and was guarantee buffet style food, replenishment, and take home leftovers. She agreed to not charge children that will share a plate with their parents. Unfortunately that was a lie. On the day of the party, the manager charge us for the children she agreed to not charge. She said the children had their own plate and that she had to refill the buffet food because they ate. When I brought up the original agreement, she began yelling and accusing us of cheating her. Then she said she had to also charge us because we took leftovers. If she told me earlier that she had to charge us for refills and take out then I would have obliged. But tacking on the charge last minute and being nasty about it is not customer friendly. Whatever happened to customer first. I disapprove of the manager behavior and will not recommend or return. I hope the manager learns that pinching for pennies over customer service is poor for business. We had a party at 7pm and the food was not ready until 8pm. They were understaffed. One server and one waiter for a large party. Dishonest and rude manager. I have a feeling some of these reviews are fakes. Book at your own discretion. read more

Waitress was awesome.... where she saved these 2 starts but that's about it. I ordered salmon and my husband ordered fish & chips. Plates were very pretty and decent so we were excited (plus- price is not super cheap...I believe Salmon was around $25?) Bot of us got serious stomachache when we came home.. This review is about the restaurant section. We went there Tuesday night. The place was very lovely, neat and cosy. We were actually the only visitors in the restaurant at around 9pm. So, the waitress was nice and attentive. The food was tasty and the portions are quite big, so one entree is more than enough to get full. Great quality for the price. Food = OK Ambiance = GOOD Staff = GOOD Management = GREAT Very nice place to go. They have multiple area's in this area. If you are having a small event they have a nice party room. The Bar area is awesome with a beautifull outside garden area for smokers and if you just want some fresh air. Then they have a restraunt side, and a party room area. Place is a great size. It looks like a must check it out for a drink then make a comment!! I think everyone should check this out and if you are having a small event it is a nice place! went here for a birthday dinner on a Sunday. there were five of us and although the waitress took our orders promptly, the food took forever to come out - despite the fact that it was not very busy. the food was a mixed bag and rather overpriced given that its simple pub food. our table ordered: spinach dip : tasty & cheesy. croutons were not a good accompaniment though. go with the nachos as i am sure they would be better. garlic bread : terrible. worst i've ever had actually. fish & chips : fantastic. actually tasted fresh & well prepared. left coast salad : decent, but nothing special. appetite was ruined at this point though because of... fried mushrooms : not only obviously frozen, but over fried/kinda burnt. and there was an uninvited guest. a bug crawled out from under the lettuce with the mushroom app. the waitress looking horrified yet claimed that it "must have flown onto the plate" & offered us drink on the house. we declined. she did not indicate whether or not we had to pay for the dish & we had to ASK her if we would be charged. any first visit with this occurrence will obviously be scarring & we will certainly not be returning here. read more

Went here last night for a birthday get together. It was really cool surprisingly, i ended up being in the bar area which was great cause we watched a football game, chilled and talked over some wine and beers. All in all it's a nice spot with different crowds and the food was really good. I'm usually not a pub person but this spot was very clean and i liked that. I have been here for the bar portion and restaurant portion and both don't disappoint. Plenty of TVs to go around which is great because there are many different angles you can sit - bar stools, tables in the middle of the bar and booths. The food here is also very good. My most recent visit consisted of a late night visit on Tuesday night for the MLB All Star Game. My sister ordered stuffed shrimp that came with rice and veggies. One word: delicious! read more

I tried this place a few years ago and if I used Yelp at the time would have zero stars. After talking to a neighbor decided to give it another shot. I must say the food has improved by a large amount. The wings are fantastic. The burgers are cooked just as ordered and are nice and jucy. The fish and chips are fresh and nice and crispy with out being greasy. I have also tried the ribs and while moist and meaty their sauce just doesn't do it for me. It is a very clean restaurant, with a nice atmosphere. The owner is very caring and sweet, and her staff are very nice. I ordered the penne alla vodka. It was fresh, but had no flavor. My wife and I have passed Connoly's many times after the renovation but never stopped . We decided one night to give them a try. Needless to say we have now become regulars. I don't know how one reviewer said the food is terrible (must have been a bad night in the kitchen) but my family has only complained once about their meal (spare ribs were dry) Either Matt and Pat (the owners)can found making the rounds to make sure everyone's meal is ok. On the weekends it can get crowded and a bit loud. Best time to go is during the week. My family and I went there last evening around 6:45. There were only 4 other people there. So Last evening I came to have a Meeting here. Place is very nice. Food was great I had a Burger and fries. Everything was to my expectation. My co-worker and Good friend Henry always talks about this place. The thing is I'm all the way in manhattan. so for me to travel out here is very difficult but I must say it's the place to go to if you are in the Maspeth area. I would definitely come again. If you are looking for a venue to have a party of any kind, this is the place to go! I had my daughter's Sweet 16 here and everything was perfect and you can't beat the price of the buffet. Plenty of food. Brigid , the manager was more than accommodating, the staff was on their game, very pleasant and compliment to the chef because the food was off the hook!! The party room was just the way we wanted it to be set up and it looked great after we put our finishing touches on it. Not a bad place to go for a drink but the bar area at times can get a little loud. The food is average we usually order appetizers. The wait staff is on their toes and friendly. They have outside seating but I'm not sure if the wait staff goes out to help you. We sat outside for about 10 mins and then decided to go get our own drinks at the bar. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant pub. We attended a party in the private party room. It was clean, nicely decorated, and the food was delicious. The staff was attentive and sincere. We ate Shephards Pie, penne pasta, seafood mix in a red sauce, and chicken francais. The red sauce was delicious - everything we tasted was delicious. Families are made to feel welcome.
